Take her !! She's an amazing teacher
She's a nice teacher and her classes are pretty laid back and she jokes around. Our class was 3hrs in the afternoon so it was strenuous sitting in class for that long. Her exam and quiz distribution was a bit questionable. We barely did anything for the first month, then all of a sudden we had quizzes and exams on the same day and presentations and papers to write at the same time. I'm still horrible at french, but I don't think it's her fault, some of the material was pretty difficult for me.
I had her for level 3 french, she's actually the best french teacher i have ever had. She's super nice I learned a lot more than just grammar in this class. She even speaks english sometimes and she wants the students to do well, I'd say she's an easier marker than most french teachers.
Very nice teacher. Most classes are very boring and you don't do much unless you have an exam. I was in Level 3 French and found some assignments hard and others easy. Mostly, she's very easy going if you have any problems. An oral at the end of the semester sitting at a table with 10 people. Simple class to take without any headaches of feeling embarrassed or stressed with work. do the work and she'll pass you no problem. Recommend.
I was in level 3 and rated her accordingly BUT if ur in level 4 shes apparently much tougher. Anyways i enjoyed her class, shes talkative & nice. But do ur work. U can miss an extra class as long as u have a valid reason. Her exams are fair. I would take her again.
I don't understand the haters. She is one of the most intelligent and interesting people I know. I took Litterature Africaine with her and loved it ALL the way through the semester. We learned a lot and there's not a lot of homework. Her correcting is pretty strict but you learn how to write correctly. I had an amazing time with her, she's hilarious and opens you to a whole new perspective. She loved participation and interactions. I would definitely take her again, she's amazing, loved her class
"Littérature Africaine" was an interesting class. Overall I really liked it. Mme Janvier is a very cultured woman and it makes her classes fun. You can't have an opinion different than hers though. She will always be right and her exams are very hard but they are not worth a lot so apply yourself in the essays and you will pass. I don't think there is any better french teacher at Abbott. From what I've heard they are all bad for lvl4. She's ok, you can take her :)
I think whoever wrote any bad comments about Yardley just didn't try in her class. Honestly the best french teacher at abbott. Im in level 3, she cares about her students and the classes are generally interesting! You learn so much more than just french. Her tests are easy. She might be a little hard when it comes to compositions, but theres no excuse to not get over 90 on the test de lectures (REALLY EASY). You wont find a better french teacher than Yardley. 100% recommend!
If you are a slacker then don't take her! But if you do your work and actually make an effort in class and show up tot he classes, she will love you. Although she can be hard at times and she is very opinionated. But she is very knowledgeable.
I absolutely Looooove this teacher. Some say she chooses her favorites but then again, almost every teacher has favorites. As long as you don't talk too much and get involved in class she will very much like you. Be nice, ask prevalent questions and show interest!! I admire her knowledge, she is very smart and interesting. :)
Makes the class hard but understands it isn't a priority course. she's also able to make it a bit interesting
this teacher is terrible. she picks favorites and grades too hard for the language level. she never gave clear instructions. i have a 31 crc and i got 65 in this class. biggest mistake ever!!
Extremely hard marker, piles all the work at the very end. Your grade is based on wether she likes you or not. Also, it is very hard to do well in that class if you aren't a good french speaker/writer
cool teacher, barely do French, fails all your exams cause she marks like a level 4 teacher on a bad day in a level 2... worked hard and got 64%...
She's pretty cool, lets you out early, no homework, small amount of class work, extremely hard marker.
She's funny and I liked her but the class itself was less than fun. No one really knew what we were doing at times, very unorganized but no coursepack and we got to choose our own book to read.
Very unorganized. okay teacher...if your strong in a specific language take her..fun very prechy kind of teachers,.jokes and straightforward loved her
she's awesome. take her if you can.. she's not the hardest marker.. she'll help you if you need it.. don't talk in class or text. she HATES seeing phones... it's rude.. no books no homework.
super hard:(...can't stand the way she grades. She is mean.
she a easy teacher ..its easy to loss points so do good in evey little exercice cuz they count ..overall okay teacher
She's a really nice teacher, as long as you don't hand in your homework late, you're fine
level 3 french. She's a very nice teacher. The comprehension assignments and tests have very vague questions, and it's easy to lose marks. Easy work, but the marks don't come easy.
lvl 3 french : Awesome teacher! very entertaining, barely any work. easy marks, she does dictee's that she shows to you before you write... easy marks
Cool and fun teacher if you have problems in french i recommand this teacher, very nice and helpfull
LvL 3 Fre: Cool teacher, very laid back, almost no homework and is very open to the world society wise. She enjoys when students interact and can still get work done. Also very friendly.
I am an honours student who has been at french school or mother tongue french all my life. There were also six more people like me in her class and she failed us all during the semester because she marks your writing as if you are a university student studying to become a french teacher. She changes words in your text for a synonym that has the same meaning and takes of marks. Not helpful at all!!! We all ended up with an overall grade in the 70s, but we had to fight for it.
Very nice teacher! She really cares for her students!!!
I dont like her!!!!!and im an easy going person...you figure it out.
Shes a good teacher in class. But she doesnt like you if you dont really care about french. If you prove you do then she is fine. But though I find her not useful AT ALL outside of class. Had to go find help on my own and wasn't there at all times during her office hours. Just do the work and go to all classes and shes ok.
She's a very nice teacher if you do all the assignments and you show you care about the class, also by putting alot of effort. If you don't care about learning French and not making an effort, then do not take her, because she will not like you if you don't care to be in her class. She's good at helping students, but I didn't find her to be a clear and good in teaching. If you never miss a class, do your work, and pay attention then you will have no problems with her class. Very easy class to pass.
She´s a good teacher, she likes you and if you do your homework it is very easy
amazing teacher , she makes learning interesting and is a very fair marker. really tries to help people understand. in all 20 years of life this teacher is the first to make me really understand the french language
nice teacher, tries hard to try and make students learn and pass, i would take her again any day.
Really nice. Easy course... very straight forward assignments. Loved her!
Very nice teacher! Very interesting too! She is really understanding! And you even learn some french!
best french teacher ever!!! motivated, likes students and is willing to help. can explain. you learn something without much work!!! take her!
Shes An AWESOME teacher who will do her best to help you out if you ever need it. Participation is the key, no homework, just hand in the journal writtings.Guaranteed passing grade
If you can get YArdley get her! im terrible in french , but she helped me out. The work is easy and she really cares about you doing good.
Such a great French teacher. Probably the only enjoyable on at Abbott. Like others said, show respect and you'll do fine in her class.
An excellent teacher for those who will show a little respect. A little respect goes a long way.
Hard classes, but if you do all your work and be a good student it is passable
i didnt like her, she was a really bossy teacher and did useless things in class. i didnt learn a thing from her.
AWESOME, she is great, easy class, nice and understands we really dont want to be there
She's a no-bull teacher. Show her a little respect and she'll love you, be rude to her and you'll be the scapegoat. Don't be the latter and you'll find it easy.
very nice and helpful teacher. it never gets boring with her.
very nice teacher...she cares about her students and her class is easy
exellent teacher i had fun in her class, shes willing to help, and marks fairly. shes also got nice feet!!!
