she is a very good teacher and she is really demanding. you must read a the chapters well and understand it well before going to class. her class can be boring but be sure to understand what she is saying because surely you will get it for the exam. the questions for the exams are given a week before the actual exam. Do not expect a grade on omnivox until 3 weeks after the end of the course. she is really kind and she is readily available anytime after class. There is no Social events.

At first you may be deceived in thinking her classes are very easy but make sure to pay attention during her classes because her exams are everything that's covered in class and you have to make references to what she discusses. She is a VERY hard marker so a good essay that covered everything will typically give you about 78% tops (class average mid-60s). But she does offer a lot of extra credit. Also if you have friends in the class you can take turns paying attention and copy notes later.

Okay, do not take her, and I am not exagerating. She has no clear criteria for her essay corrections. She just gives you a grade and in your texts are random illisible comments. She expects too much and will give you the minimum grade even if you did more than the minimum. she NEVER posts grades. She waited until the last day of grade updating in december to actually just post a final grade, a number, without st. dev. and without the actual grades. I could write much more. dont take her, or fail

Valerie Broege is a disgrace to humanities. I am passionate about philosophy, and have always enjoyed my humanities courses to the utmost degree, while getting amazing grades in them ( 99 % and 94 %). This woman did not only succeed in boring me with my passion, but she also wasted my time. Her Science & Society course has no critical thinking aspect to it. She just throws random facts at you, without challenging your beliefs and knowledge. Plus, her tests are unreasonable. I expect a bad grade.

AMAZING teacher VERY knowledgeable!I learnt so many interesting things in her class!I actually enjoyed attending her class ppl who complain are closed minded Her test are easy you just have to listen and take notes!!If you dont intend on showing up then dont expect to pass one of the few teachers who actually teaches things you want to know about!she expects a lot from her students because she believes everyone is capable of learning and in turn using that knowledge to make good decisions

I read the 600 pages books and regretted it. She summarizes the book's part, so take note if u didnt read. The only downfall is lost of participation marks for not answering her questions in the book.

I took both meaning of life and archetype classes. Meaning of life is totally boring, and some material is totally irrelevant. It's really hard to get a good grade in that class. Don't take her for that. The archetype class is more interesting since it deals with mythology and real life. Essay exam is easy for the archeype class if you read the book. She loves when you write a lot, even if it's not totally relevant. She can be funny when she talks about real life examples...

If you have a positive attitude, you will last through the classes...if you are interested in greek mythology and C.G. Jung, you'll find this class to be a breeze...the classes do get awfully repetitive, sometimes, and I just had to miss a few for that reason...Ms. Broege is hilarious when it comes to discussing things that are in style nowadays...she's like anyone of your parents; tries to keep up with the times, but can't. She also has funky jewelry.
