Mr. Bein is the best photography teacher, learned so much in his class, and he really cares about his students, and he puts so much effort into making sure you have a great high school experience.
Often MIA (Missing in Action), Often spends more time out of the classroom than in the classroom teaching.
If you want to study photography or media and digital arts at college or university, you need to study with Mr. Bein at the Art Centre at Central Tech. His classes are so great and he's so nice, he really makes your experience at this school a great one.
As a former student of Mr Bein, he was the best photography teacher I've ever had. I love his classes, and I learned so much about photography from him. He is so dedicated to the Art Centre at Central Tech, and so dedicated to student life, he made my time at central tech such a great experience. I'll always remember my time in Mr. Bein's class.
I am a former student of Mr. Bein. Whenever I am in a quandary act some aspect of a drawing, illustr'n or photograph I am working on, an image of Mr. Bein comes to mind and I turn to the notes and hand-outs that I meticulously recorded & collected in his classes. All the info is contained in notebooks that Mr Bein himself, provided at the beginning of each school year. These are over 10 yrs old & the pages are dog-eared and coffee-stained but are still as invaluable as is Mr Bein, the teacher.
The most stressful class I have ever taken, Mr. Bein is very knowledgeable, but it takes a lot of effort to pull that information out of him.
Ulf and Jen are quite decent. It is absolutely sad how the specialized art program at Central Tech - once quite prestigious -became a hotspot of useless teachers under the guidance of Dori and her assistant Erin. Wish there were clones of Trish, and Terry, the new faces at program who replaced the useless ones in every class . Ulf offers open studios twice a week and stays long and really wants to see students succeed. More power to Trish for clean up and reorganization. Great success.
My experience with Mr Bein was not good, he was not helpful or nice. Very passive aggressive.
Mr. Bein is a goldmine of expertise on photographic processes both digital and analogue. His knowledge and his willingness to share is remarkable. I wish I had experienced more teachers like him. He inspires. His understanding of how people of all ages learn is also quite amazing. I've watched him coach a 70 year old adult student and a grade 11 student. He adapts and focusses on what the individual needs and then helps them in a way that builds their confidence as budding photographers.
Took Photography and Photoshop course this summer. Found Mr Bein to be informative, helpful, well prepared and able to deal with all the skill levels. He was patient and caring.
great teacher. He knows what hes talking about so just listen. He'll go out if his way for students that are passionate and do there work. Can be a harsh critic sometimes but its always for the best.
