I literally didn't get a single test back until the day before the exam. If you struggle with math you won't learn, if you don't it's pretty free though.
Does not teach, doest't give tests back, takes off marks for unknown reasons. Switch out ASAP
she's really nice but she doesn't give back your quizzes, so it's kinda hard to determine where you are in the course unless you approach her. she also gives a lot of homework, which she rarely checks.
If you get her, switch out. You could be doing really good but you'll never know cause she never gives any marks back... so many complaints were sent to her by parents but she never replied to them because she's "so busy". If you are stuck with her, I'm so so sorry.
If you're not good at math, she's perfect for you. If you're already really good at math, then it's a little trickier and you may find yourself getting very distracted.
Worst math teacher in the school if not the worst teacher I have ever had. Lazy, distractable, does not make the effort to teach the material or mark tests. Makes up marks (that is actually unethical). Shows little regard for the students that she doesn't like. I can't understand why she could be the head of a department - if she worked in other professions with the same lack of effort, she would probably be fired.
Ms. Asselstine was the best teacher I have ever had for math. She is so nice and sweet, you never get bored and knows how to keep students on track. She is very intelligent and knows her stuff!
Asselstine was a very nice person. She only snapped once despite the math class being super loud every day. The problem lies within her own effort into the teaching. She never makes handouts, only teaches directly from the textbook (literally chapter by chapter; some test questions are copy/paste from textbook even), and marks VERY slow. I'm talking multi-month slow for a single unit test. You can go up and ask her about what you don't understand, and she will make it very easy to get, though.
She's amazing as a person, but not so much as a teacher. Protip- don't ever expect any assignments or tests back. We have great discussions, but some of them aren't related to the topic at hand. I had her for stats, and as I compared her "smartboard notes" with the textbook, I discovered that she had blatantly copied the textbook onto the board, and then the students would copy down the board. I'm pretty sure that with skipping class everyday but reading the textbook, I would still get over 90
She's a very knowledgeable teacher who can clearly explain concepts to the class. I had her for AP stats. She did not go over several concepts with us in class, and sent us notes on the day before the AP exam. She handed back two out of five tests and no assignments. I know as the department head, she is definitely very busy, however she needs to care for this class a lot more. She's very good at teaching though, just some aspects need a lot of improvement.
She never hands things back or hands then back right before report cards. You'll never know where you stand in her class. She's only nice to you if she likes you.
She is the best math teacher I had. She is sweet and generous. She offers extra help when you will ever need it.
Least helpful teacher I've ever had, she does just make up marks, and really I don't think she marks anything which is why I never got my tests back in that class
wow so she's still like that? I swear she just picked out random marks from a hat or something...
BEST MATH TEACHER EVER! Theres a Reason why shes the head of the math DEPO
the head of a math dept that does not mark or return tests and assignments; students who complain too much get lower marks; it's hard to know how final marks are determined
Ms. A could not be cooler... She is the chillest teacher I've ever known. Not marking anything (and pulling the marks out of god knows where) is a major pain though.
Great person, a bit slow on the marking - but she's always busy with school or sport things. Good teacher, will take the time to help you understand.
She's a really nice person and she really tries to teach, but it's hard to learn and improve work when we never get ANY tests back all year. She doesn't even mark them.
was always willing to help me even though it was quite clear that i was a lost cause when it came to programming. Was also super fun as a soccer coach and in Austria
She was a very good math teacher and was very good at explaining things. But she needs to get marks back faster.
Best math teacher I've had. Explains everything well. She should mark faster though!
Has got to be the worst teacher ever. SLOW in handing things back. CANNOT TEACH. is very confusing. Nothing learnt. Marks come from NOWHERE.
CONGRATULATIONS ON THE GOLDEN APPLE AWARD MS APPLESTINE! lol. great teacher, really fun just slow with handing tests back
She was a great teacher! One of my best ever. She was slow to hand tests back...my only complaint
an excellent teacher, explains stuff very well, a little slow about handing things back though
Boring...zzz...zzz...zzz She doesn't know how to teach
OMG I hate hate hate her! She is a horrible teacher!
I think that she is nice, the classes were easy to understand, and she marked fairly.
nice person, knows a lot about math and explains well. she's not strict enough at all tho.
i had her for tap : : she was very insightful and fun:
she's pretty cool, puts up with a lot, she's getting to be a better teacher
holy grade 12 cisco nutz! no marking scheme and note book check is worth 50%!!!!
She let us play computer mini-golf and not work! ;-)
Maybe if you ignore the students more theyll learn better.
