Love him! I've never had a bad experience with him, though I know that many others say he's rude. Honestly, I think it's about mutual respect (or I'm just favoured? idk). He's super knowledgeable and very flexible with grade 12's who want to do portfolio work. Lets me use his room during spares and sometimes after school. Kind of difficult marker. He genuinely wants to help every student, and doesn't ignore us for his phone (unlike ms goodfellow).

He's a great teacher!
He comes around class to help you when he sees the potential in your creation, and actually attempts the same project as you (he starts it earlier to show you how to do it and what to do).

To be honest he knows nothing. He's a terrible teacher not helpful at all. There this kid in our class and he's trying his best and he's good but not to Mr Ross. He's made him feel bad from day 1

Admittedly he's pretty harsh on students, he did see a piece of art that was, well, pretty bad, but he actually said "is this serious?? I would tear this up right now" and laughed at it, which seemed really rude and hurtful to me, and it wasn't even my piece. He uses a VERY critical method of teaching which can come off as rude and uncaring to some. He's rather forceful of his own artistic techniques ("quite outlining!!11!1!"), of which I cannot follow. He knows his stuff tho, so he's not awful.

He decides what is art and what isn't. He lacks an open mind. Self absorbed.

Absolutely amazing teacher, if you ask him for help or advice he'll defiantly give it to you. He's not afraid to give criticism and suggestions. He never pushes you to take his suggestions and gives you a lot of options for projects. I learned a lot in his class and enjoy his art class over any other art teachers at Harbord.

Mr.Ross is the worst art teacher i have ever had. Through useless presentations, narrow assignments and a complete lack of inspiration and respect for students Mr. Ross is actually demeaning to art culture. Though a skilled artist, this man should not be teaching, he lacks passion as well as the basic qualities that make up a human being.

not too bad of a teacher, very easy work just be sure to do it at the appropriate level. He just wants everybody doing something at all times not just sitting there, wasting his and their own time. not bad at all :)

Awesome guy, very fair. People who don't like him very much are usually the ones who don't show him much respect in the first place. How can you expect respect you when you don't give it yourself?

easy-going teacher. very knowledgable at art, (too) helpful, humourous, clear. he changes too much of the students' work when they ask for help, thus helping too much usually.
