AVOID AT ALL COST!!! For first semester English he is very tough. It is his way of seeing the story and no other way. if you do not have the same opinion as he has you will automatically fail. He as pop quizzes almost every class and you will have to read the stories/poems 3 or 4 times to be able to answer the questions on the quiz. honestly take at your own risk

Not a good teacher! He gave us so many quizzes. If you are not good at interpreting, then you should not choose him because he is very strict at grading your essays. The final average of my class is below 60

He seems to improvise every class in a very disorganized way and the instructions he gives for the exams are never clear so you end up answering to the wrong thing and bamn you lose half of your points (that's the main difficulty). He interacts with the floor instead of addressing himself to the class and speaks in a monotone (boring). Another thing is the little amount of feedback he rarely gives to your work. However, I learned some interesting facts about Rock 'n' roll history.

I mindlessly hated him all semester but now that it's over I really appreciated him because as it turns out, I learned a LOT. Be aware that he REALLY pushes his students. Thanks to him, I now know the perfect way to structure an essay, and how to analyze a text properly.
HE IS NOT FOR STUDENTS WHO WANT AN EASY RIDE.
He is for those who want to get ready for Uni! Recommended for those who really want to learn! Thanks Simon!

Avoid him at all costs!! He's rude and his class are very boring. I am a very hard working student and I do good on all my classes but I barely passed his class with 62 and the class average was 54 so I would never take him again. His exams are uncoherent and he expects you to know all the texts seen in class by heart so avoid this teacher!!

FIRST SEMESTER.One of the hardest teachers I've ever come by, his tests are stupid because he expects us to know the author and title and you need to know every damn line and detail of the poem/essay/short story. Calls you out to answer questions given to you, and are forced to answer, if you get the wrong answer, he makes fun of you/ embarrasses you in front of the class. Only positive thing I can say about him is he knows his English. Other intro classes are getting 80, 60's with him

BEST TEACHER EVER. Very laid back personality, he's so funny and entertains the class with jokes before the class begins. Take his Bob Dylan Course! I learned a lot and we listen to music in class!!! Exams are easy as pie if you actually study. R score with him was 34.541

His class is tough, we used to have pop quizzes all the time about some readings. If you do not do your readings and pay attention in class you won't do well. He hates when students are daydreaming or doing stuff that is not related to the course, so you need to pay attention or he'll call you out. Other than that, he is really helpful and gave me some good advice for essays and what not, and he sure knows what he is talking about.

He is too harsh, and does not try in the least to help teach his students, he basically has his opinion, and no one can disagree or think their own way. He looks for very specific things, and wants you to think like he does, and when you have difficulty, he does not really help you, he only tells you to get it together. He nitpicks little details in the texts and expects a lot from his students. Do. Not. Take. This. Teacher. Period.

I had him a few semesters ago. On the first day of class, there was about 30 students, on the last month, probably 8-9? Only 3-4 of us passed...If your english is the best of the best then you'll do ok but still gotta work extremely hard!!! If you have difficulty in english, you gotta work double harder and it's almost impossible to get higher than 75%. My class average was below 45% so think again before you choose to be in his class but if you respect him, he'll show you some respect too.
