I was a decent student, with about an A- average. When I was in her class, I found myself struggling a lot s- I was getting a straight C- average... pretty bad. But she is always open and understanding, and when I talked to her, she really helped. She took the time after school and during her breaks to assist me in learning, and improved my grades. In high school, I found that her teaching gave me fundamental skills that truly helped me. Now, I can proudly say that Ms. Broster changed my life.
Very good at giving the information and she made my future high school experiences much easier ( as I had her for middle school) but as a teacher she was very stern and nearly everyone disliked her (it seemed the feeling was mutual). She will help you learn but you might end up crying at some point honestly.
I asked her if she could briefly go over some sections I did not thoroughly understand after class and she said "I already covered that in class. You should have paid attention." and she sent me off.
I loved Ms. Broster. She's an amazing teacher, you actually learn from her. From what I've observed, the majority of poor reviews about her had only a small written review, if present at all. These, I imagine, are the students that don't do their work, or don't study, or break the rules. Do your work, study, and you're going to discover that Ms. Broster's class' have much to offer you. The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing. So pay attention, you're in for a wild ride.
BTW her tiyts are flat and huge! 1 more thing I think it would be better is she stuck a sock in her mouth... you know so she can't talk like a azz!
I honestly love her!! I agree with what another person said, after attending highschool you truly appreciate this woman! I wish all my highschool teachers were like her!!! she might be tough at first but you'll grow to love her!!
Very good. Though she did get archimedes' principle wrong during science. (Physics)
After attending high school I realized how much this teacher actually taught me. She did much to help me achieve success beyond her class. Thanks for the best times at CVMS.
horrible, horrible, horrible--but a good teacher to prepare you for high school. If you pass her, you pass high school. She's nice at times, at times you'd want to die. In each class, it seemed like she's not helpful but over all, with all the classes, it's only just a long term help.
I feel that at the beginning of the year, she seemed to be an okay teacher, but as time passed, and we are now nearing the end of the school year, her quality has degraded. For example, I've never known any teacher too single out her students, whether during a work period, class discussion, etc. She will usually pick on the students who either don't have work completed sometimes, achieve lower grades than her favourites (higher grades) and she will make what I feel are rude remarks towards*next*
Mrs. Broster did teach a lot -- going over coursework up to the 10th grade. However, a lot of it was rushed and not explained as clearly as gr 8 students would be able to understand. She could be humorous at times but most of the time, she was a little too strict and demanding of her students. She knows what's good for them and how to let them prepare for high school, and it does help in the long term. She's also biased toward the stronger students that get high marks.
Great teacher. My fav when I was at CVMS.
Ms. B was my fav last year. She was all about teaching; sucking up didn't accomplish much, but work did. Great teacher to prepare you for High Scool. Not so good if you want to take the easy route.
She is very hard and very very strict. She is very hard. She is very strict She is very hard she is very strict
Yes, she DID prepare you for grade nine; BUT I didn't have a good year with her. Infact, if she didn't take teaching so seriously i would've hated her class 10x more. She moved to quickly from topic to topic. You never got enough time to take notes. If you weren't one of her favourites you were screwed. We got too much homework. Her expectations were too high at times. And she had a really unpleasant personality that didn't make learning fun AT ALL.
My year with Ms. Broster was very good, and I feel that she prepared me well for my upcoming high school experience. I am very happy that I was placed in Ms. Broster's class in grade 8.
She is a great teacher. She makes you work, but I really enjoy her class.
Best teacher ever. Expects you to work and does not play favorites.
Worst teacher ever. This is true: if you don't get on her good side in the beginning, you never will. Good side as in, 90 and above average, never talks in class, teacher's pet, "actively participate"
Great teacher, firm but fair. Great subject explanations.
She taught me and I thought she was a great teacher. But she did expect us to work and think. I suppose if you don't want to work, or think, you might have a different view of her. So be warned.
If you don't understand the good reviews, you could be the problem or maybe you did not haver her as a teacher. I had her for science and she was the best.
She was the best teacher I had at CVMS. I owe her for my later sucesses at high school, although I may not have appreciated her efforts while I was actually at CV. Although it's late - Thank You.
You hate her in grade 8. But you'll love her so much in grade 9. Wait and see.
Great teacher; the reason I am now a university student.
You'll be extremely thankful of her when you enter high school. The workload is heavy, but much is learned. Well-informed, succinct, and well-prepared lessons. A great orator, interesting assignments
Strict yet mostly fair, she is very good at teaching science and likes to prepare lots of powerpoint slides. She is a hard marker but will make sure that you learn as much as you possibly can.
I like her. She dosn't take excuses, so you gotta work. Not a good class for anyone who wants a free ride.
She is my favorite teacher. She has helped me to improve and treates everyone the same - no faves.
High level teacher but has to learn time management. e.g. Science class "We still have 5 minutes" Always rushing through labs.
Lol shes ..... a very high leveled teacher.... She gives hi standards..like university yet she is extremely helpful.. Though her lectures(Core classes) are prettey boring....
She is the most consise and detailed teacher i have ever met.
I was by to say hi and tell you that I am doing really great in science and math in grade 9 thanks to your classes last year. I discovered you were away this year, I will try some other time.
I agree! You are the best. I was by in Sept. to say hello but was told that you are away this year. I will try again.
Sorry you are not here this year. My brother had you as a teacher last year and said that you were fantastic- the best in the school and didn't play favorites. Wish I had you this year. 5s from him.
A Good teacher, i learns tonnes of stuff from her. She's tough on marking and don't give a lot of high marks for science. But she's fair =)
I think Ms. B is a great teacher. The best! She makes science interesting.
Ms. Brostr is the best science teacher in the school. She taught me to love science. I think she is great! :)
I heard a lot about this teacher and was worried. But I have her for science and she is the best teacher in the school.
man...i have her this year for science =.='' omg omg omg so sad....
She doesnt really care if we understand the work or not. If you say you hadn't it means you werent paying attention. Not true. She was my gr 8 teacher, and that year was the worst year i had.
I like this teacher. She is firm but fair. Doesn't take any crap and doesn't play favorites like some others do.
good teacher, strict, but knew the subject.liked her teaching style
She is firm, but fair and a really good science teacher.
I don't know about the library, but she was a FANTASTIC math & science teacher. I was totally ready for grade 9 after her classes.
Ms. B. is the best science teacher here. I was worried at first, because I was told that she was really strict, but I am glad that I had her this year cause I learned so much.
I think she is a great teacher. But she will not give you a free ride. She is exects you to work - and no excuses.
just does not underestand how to be a teacher and all
She is a great teacher. She favours students that are hard working and is tough on lazy students.
She's a great teacher. I HATED her when I was in her class, but now I totally thank her for all she's taught me. She really does care for her students.
Some students don't like her because she expects you to work. But she is my favorite teacher.
I think that she is a great teacher, but very strict. I love her science class.
Well I may not be 'gifted' but she is still a great teacher. Expects you to do the work and woun't take any BS. So if you want an easy time don't take her class
I really like this teacher, but some of the "less guifted" students in other classes whine about the work.
She makes science interesting, and she mkes you work. I like her.
Ms B. is a fantastic teacher. She was not easy, but I think she taught us well.
The Ottawa trip was fantastic - the highlite of my year. Thanks Ms B. for all your work to make my last year the best
She's fair, but hard at times... Better than SOME teachers though...
I think that she is the best teacher in the school, but not the easiest marker
I like Ms. Broster, she is fair but demanding. She will make you work and doesn't fall for the BS.
writes really fast and unclear; hard teacher but fair.
She's a nice teacher, she jus' gives alots homework and she teaches fast...jus' a bit straight sometimes
her writing is so hard to define. not that great a teacher
She is the best teacher in the school and makes science interesting.
I think that she is the best teacher in the school. Hard but fair.
Good at teaching. But really mean. I had her for a whole year for sci. Hate her.
She is a great teacher, likes math and science, becareful, she will go fast
