Best teacher I have ever had. He knows so much and wants his students to have the fundamentals before moving onto university. He made university physics a breeze because of the amount he goes through in his classes. Stay up on your work and hand everything in on time, and you'll be fine. Always willing to answer questions with great clarity and amazing explanations.
Mr. Heathcote is by far the most knowledgeable teacher I've ever met. His class was amazing, with hits such a small teaching us how to juggle, along with the physics behind it. Don't forget your pair of compasses kids, you never know if there's a Nobel prize in it for you.
Absolute queen and a really great Father. Best teacher
Terrible... he made me fall asleep 6 times he is the most boring teacher out there, not engaging at all.
Take care of the physics and the physics take care of you!
Hands down the best teacher at ECI. His laugh is so funny and although he is strict on his marking, it helps the students learn from their mistakes. he is the only reacher who is actually knowledgeable in his subject
strict and fun teacher with very good science background. his class is really full of fun.
It's almost like fun!
This guy is so overqualified he is such a good teacher. If you have him pay attention in his classes you can learn so much from this guy.
He is the only reason I go to school!
Mr. Heathcote laid the foundation for my engineering career. To this day (as an energy engineering consultant), I still use the unit conversion methodologies learnt from his classroom. Students will complain that he is brutally hard and strict, but I truly believe his method is effective and am glad to have had Mr. Heathcote as my grade 11 and grade 12 physics teacher.
-Wilson Chung (class of 2004)
I love Mr. Heathcote! :D He actually explains things in simple, straight-to-the-point explanations and always answers questions the best he can! His class made me understand science so much better, and it was actually fun to go to class.
I failed his course.. :/ He is an awesome teacher! I love physics because of him (even though i failed it) Its just he is really really really strict in his marking.
Easily one of the smartest and most enthusiastic physicists I've ever met. He's the reason I like physics at all. One of the best teachers out there, but he's really hard and strict.
He is the hardest teacher in the world but he is the best! First year since grade 5 I actually learned something in science! -Amar Latchman
He is very picky for a thorough process. It'll seem tough at the time, but when you get to university it pays off. I continued to use Heathcote's methods in university and get perfect for procedures w
I don't really like his suprise quizes, and he's kinda picky at times and is a hard marker, other than that, a friggin awesome teacher
He is a pretty tough and strict teacher and a VERY hard marker. But he teaches pretty well.
very strict and hard marker, but teaches well. I have to give him credit for that.
Very hard marker, but very good prep for uni. Makes physics very enjoyable, and unlike other teachers who simply give examples of the textbook, he actually teaches and makes you think and be part of t
simplifies physics. His notes are the holy grail of physics! He really knows his stuff (like EVERYTHING there is to know under the sky!) and really enjoys teaching. Love the jacket ;)
the best teacher but TALKS to much and a tough TEACHER when it comes 2 marking ur work but he is the best science TEACHER you rock MR. HEATHCOTE
Amazing teacher! Really knows his stuff! he is a really hard marker but left an impression as one of the best teachers i have had! makes physics really interesting but ridiculusly hard! rumour has it he is not human due to his intelligence lol
I have to say that although I'm not at this school anymore and I only have mr. Heathcote for a year, he has made a lasting impression on me. He's a great teacher and a great guy and his lab coat is amazing. My favourite teacher in my whole high school career.
Picky but a great teacher. If you show him that you're trying you'll get a good mark even if you don't deserve it! I tried so hard in physics but never did that well but still ended up with a great mark! Now I'm in Civil Engineering. He taught me a lot and now getting 80's! WAY BETTER THAN O'RIELLY!
As mentioned he's extremely picky and there isn't a mark above 80% in our whole grade! So if you need physics for university take it at night school or something! He's a pretty cool guy but he's always bouncing around hyper! Always wearing his lab coat he's the #1 nerd at eci! PS you do learn a lot!
He's great. know's his physics, and always happy to help. he does seem to get very happy when you give a forula to work with. Grade 12 physics is a lot of fun with him teaching it.
What's there to say about Mr. Heathcote other than he gives out more information than required. It's beginning to become somewhat of a nuisance and, quite frankly, I find it to be really unnecessary. Period.
EXTREMELY picky, but a fantastic teacher all the same. EXACTLY what a science geek should look like!! <3 labcoat <3
Hey, I graduated E.C.I in 1997, and I still remember that Heathcote was an exceptional teacher. Don't let the fallacies grip you, Heathcote physics opens you up to more than formulae if you listen. Tell him yasin says hello, and thanks. Currently doing a postgrad in Political theory in Istanbul.
he was an awesome teacher! at first i thought he was kinda strict, but afterwards, honestly, he is so good at teaching science.
Mr. Heathcote is honestly the best teacher I have ever had. Incredible. First year physics a joke if you get 75+ in his class. He's a genius teacher, and I wish I could do his class again.
hm dunno dunno we'll see soon, but so far his teaching is great in comparison with all the others teachers!
heathcote is really pickyyy but i will give him credit for his teaching style. i guess he prepares you well for university.
Good guy, TERRIBLE course. don't let these mr heathcote fanboys mislead you though, he is not going to make you understand physics if you are not good at it already. Unless you want to study engineering in university, i suggest you not take this course
It might be the best teacher there is. Very hard, but very helpfull, and able to explain well. In addition, makes you think for youself.
Awsome teacher, very smart. But but when I rearanged a formaula in my head before writing it down then was told that it was a bogus forumula.. thats just not fair. He should loosen up on the format of your solution, then he could be a allaround fantastic teacher
Pretty cool guy, knows his stuff. VERY HARD but fun!
Great teacher. Explains everything well, made physics for me. Tycho de brie - he had no nose. how did he smell? AWFUL!
Physics was my most hated subject but Mr.Heathcote made it interesting. Great teacher, works hard but not so easy...
Very good teacher, but also a very hard one. Don't be late, do your work, and pay attention!
sets you up with the fundamentals of approaching scientific probs in general. all in all, high school physics is easy math applied to real-world probs (or physicsland ;]). once you meet ppl in uni, you'll understand you've been taught well.
Best teacher ever!!! Dont even think of sleeping in his class!!!!!!!
Clear, concise, tell exactly whats expected. Avoids inaccuracy. Excellent teacher.
Prepares you for university like most other teachers should. Pay attention and do the work and you'll be glad you did.
One of the only teachers I know, that truly LOVES TO TEACH
Really sets you up for university, and loves to teach!
Definately the most demanding and dedicated teacher in the school. Teaches with a REAL passion. Difficult marker because he teaches physics ( not basketweaving)
yes, very good,...but do 100% what he says,..do things his way or ur doomed
