Mr. Ashby was my Chem 11 teacher. He gives out these lecture notes that are very detailed, and have required practice in them that have answers in the back. If you do your homework the tests are pretty easy. Mr. Ashby is a great teacher if you want to move on to Chem 12 because he tells you how things work and how you can expect things to be discussed more in detail in the next course so that you'll be more prepared. I found him to be a very good teacher and hope to take more classes from him.
Mr. Ashby is pretty straightforward, if you want to learn you have to spend the time to study. His notes are pretty great, at first I didn't like the required practice but I noticed that I'm actually remembering and doing better when I do the stuff in his lesson packages. His tests are fair, if you do the required practice in the notes you'll do great in them. Actually took a math class and was surprised another teacher was using lecture notes made by him, which pretty much saved me there.
Had Mr. Ashby for Chem 11. His homework is pretty intense, but all of his stuff makes it easier if you want to take Chem 12 next. Pretty good at explaining hard stuff, actually wants you to ask him lots of questions. He gives you pretty good premade notes that are super helpful, also has a website with a lot of links. He is a pretty good teacher. He is my favorite so far.
This teacher is absolutely the worst teacher I ever had! His notes are VERY VERY convoluted and his explanations are very bad :( his homework is honestly terrible since his choice of words are very inaccurate and he asks questions that have more than one answers, his justification for having more than one answers is " we haven't learned that yet so apply a correct answer from what we learned so far".
Great teacher with a great sense of humor to keep students engaged. If you need help you have to speak up otherwise he will assume that everyone in class is keeping up.
He is an excellent teacher and I'm so thankful he taugh FOM 11!
Rob is an excellent teacher, his lessons are very clear and notes packages are thorough and a lot of practice questions. Thanks Rob i would not have done so well without you !!
DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT take his class if you are a sensitive person!I DID NOT have a good experience with him AT ALL. Going into that class i expected to be treated like an adult and NOT a child. I found him to be very invading and always in my face kinda deal. I felt that he picked on me more than anyone else in that class and that was not fair to me at all. For me he was NOT easily approachable. However yes i can agree he is knowledgeable but NOT an outstanding teacher. Ive had better.
Hands down the best teacher I have ever had! I so wish more teachers were as passionate about their career as he is. I began the class absolutely terrified, I have no back ground in math at all but he helped clarify what I needed to do and I am now excelling.
Rob is an amazing teacher. Would not have done so well if not for him.
Mr. Ashby is easily the best teacher at LEC. Every single class he teaches fills fast, especially Chemistry 11, so register early. He has developed his own note packages and is very organized. He goes over every step on the projector and then lets you example problems yourself. Homework is not overbearing and he gives you an extra day to complete. Re-'memory challenges'(tests) are available and there is no final test(for Math 11). The only downside is he allows students to talk and leave class
Rob is a great teacher, however he let's students talk throughout the entire class which makes it har for the rest of rhe students to concentrate! Very frustrating!
Rob is enthusiastic, great notes, I only wish he would pass out the answers to the homework so we can know what we did wrong, b/c we don't have time to go over all our homework after it's returned.
He's the most entertaining teacher at LEC that I've had so far.
Simply outstanding in going the extra mile for all his students. A fabulous teacher.
Very good teacher, odd sense of humour. I'm a huge fan of the option to retake tests.
Really good teacher... his analogies work so well. mmm chocolate
