Richard seems to be knowledgeable when it comes to programming. However, there are some things he doesn't cover in class, yet it's on the tests, so I strongly recommend using the textbook, as it's very, very handy. He always says "I have a question for you" every class or "I got a challenge for you." It's not impossible to pass if you put in the effort. He's a nice guy to joke around with though.
Very nice guy with a lot of knowledge on the topic, but tests are very hard, especially when he is unclear at explaining as he is a great programmer but not a fantastic teacher. I don't not recommend him if you are not the type of person that can work without any notes whatsoever.
He puts stuff in his exams that we've never talked or seen in class before. He makes an exam that is supposed to be done within 3 hours but you have to finish it within 1 hour and 45 minutes. He doesn't give a shit about teaching. He answers your questions with more questions. As you will become accustomed to him, you will understand that his favorite phrase is "I got a question for you.". I would never recommend him to anyone. He knows his stuff around coding, but he isn't a teacher.
He does not teach and does not give a coconut about his students. His exams does not even have half of what he taught us in class. Seriously, Richard is a good guy and i can see that he loves what he's doing, but he shouldn't be a teacher. I had him in Programming 1 and I can confirm that he is the worst teacher in the Computer Science department I've ever had. I didn't want to believe the ratings from this site, but i was too optimist and I solidly failed with half of my classmates.
He always says : "Now I got a question for you!" And trust me if you don't have some background knowledge in the subject, you would likely not understand what he wants. Doesn't really teach, he just shows some powerpoints and talks a little and expects you to understand. A lot of learning has to be done outside of class on your own since his few explanations are not clear.
Seriously awful teacher, he simply doesn't care for his students. I had an issue in programming once and contacted him via mio and when I asked about what he thought about it he replied with : "I just glanced at it and closed it". His classes are very confusing as well, so prepare to use google for 90% of everything you're going to be doing.
Had him for Programming I and over half of the class failed. He doesn't teach, he doesn't help, and all he says is, "I have a challenge for you," then gives us a hard question to answer even when literally no one has a single clue on what he just said. Worst Computer Science teacher.
He always asks questions when student dont even understand the principal yet. I'm really sorry if you get him for programming. You literally are on your own in this class.
He doesn't teach
He expects too much from his students and makes his tests really hard. Assignments are easy but if your average of the tests is lower than 60% they don't count and you immediately fail. I find his correction bad because he removes a ton of points for simple mistakes.
He doesnt let you use your books for tests. He doesnt teach he doesnt help you if your struggling you either get it or dont get it with him
I had him for Using Computers. IF YOU WANT A CLASS THAT YOU DONT NEED TO ATTEND, AND STILL BE ABLE TO GET A 95 AVERAGE......TAKE IT. It's a really easy class and his marking is SOOOOO easy. He is a super nice man and easy to get along with!
Richard is a great guy, he does not teach the class very much, but if you do the assignments and keep up to date with any labs, you'll pass, i guarantee it.
Richard is a quiet man. During the second half of the semester he just sat there and watched the class instead of teaching. We learned only the very basics of the courses subject which was disappointing. We probably only had 3-4 lectures. Richard is very nice, and will help any student if they have a reasonable question.
very easy teacher is you do the work. took him for two complementaries and got 100 on each. he is very helpful if you ask him, but you need to ask. you work on your own, but if you need help just ask. also because the books are self teachable, he doesnt mind if you dont go class.
He's not a teacher he's a supervisor. He just sits at his desk all class. But he makes tests/assignments easy and is a nice and good guy. Dont be afraid to take his class.
Excellent teacher. He encourages learning by doing and is really encouraging and a great motivator. Your grade will reflect the work you put into his class
The course itself is easy, but you have to do everything on your own, read the book and practice yourself if you want to pass his course...horrible grading technique, doesn`t follow course outline
Follows the book but can make you think a lot in exams.Very straightforward and reasonable guy.Asks a lot of questions to see if you know the stuff. He tries to help everyone, likes to see you working.
Very nice teacher. He is funny and really make sure u understand everything. I had him for Intro to powerpoint n believe me each course was memorable!!! I RECOMMEND THIS TEACHER.!!! FAIR MARKER!!!!!!!
Very helpful and certainly willing to help with those who are serious about the course (be warned, he can tell). Often joking around. Very nice with the students who aren't outright mean to him. Info Sys course was really easy.
Good guy. Has strong ethics. Do your work and you'll get through. Not your typical computer science teacher.
WHAT???!?!?! AWESOME teacher...great guy...funny...chill.. helpfull..smart...everything you want in a teacher!
Great guy. Alway's smiling and laughing, very funny man. Very easy labs and tests. Doesn't care about attendance, extremely leniant, classes are short. He's also extremely helpful when you have a problem.
Very positive guy. I started to like his classes from the first da of school. Doesn't give notes but explains pretty well. Sometimes tests are tough, but you just need to read the book and do your HW. He's also just a nice and funny guy.
Funny teacher. Expects you to know your stuffs. If you need to install any program, he's the guy for it
Really nice guy. His lectures aren't very good, but he's a helpful teacher who's always happy to help you out and a forgiving marker. His class materials (handouts, etc) are also excellent. Definitely a good choice.
Great teacher, Had him for info Sys was fantastic. got to joke a lot in the labs, very easy going. i got a 70 in this class, and i enjoyed evry moment.
In my opinion very good teacher!! Just make sure you do all the homeworks and assignments and you will be more then fine!! Richard would not help people that are not doing anything. He simply wants ppl to become good and know the material 100%
Hes an OKAY teacher. Just read ur book ahead before classes and ull do fine. Do ur homework and exercises in class. If he sees u working hard in class and u have a 54 or 56 in an exam he will try to help u pass.
his explanation are not clear, every time you ask him a question, he'll tell you to read the book. i think he is fed up teaching.don't take him.
Very easygoing teacher. He is a very fair person. Will help you out but will not give you the answer. Helps you become a very good programmer if your willing.
nice man. understanding. not very clear when you need an explanation, but very easy to pass his class.
nice person, more you know the harder he makes it for you, makes you to do the same staff only differenly much harder way other then that he is a good teacher.
he's a good teacher ,helps a lot but gives hard exams
I rule in programming so my advise is to be ahead of him so u can ask your questions in order to understand b4 the tests! got 90+ so u can do well!
