Man is a beast. Had him for one semester. Totally worth it. I didn't get the highest mark but it was my own fault but he teaches clearly and gives you an exact picture of what you need to learn. Just do your hw
If you were in kindergarten and Mr. Rhamey had to teach you the A B C, I'm sure he'd write the entire alphabet on a piece of paper, put that piece of paper on the overhead and show it on the projecter for 5 minutes, then move on to questions such as "spell the word Thiruvananthapuram". Because that is pretty much how he's been teaching SL IB Math this year and let me tell you, it has NOT been fun. If you get him, do the HW the lesson will be about beforehand if you wanna understand anything.
He is very thorough and organized in his lesson plans. If you are an organized student like he is, you will enjoy his class. If you struggle in organization, you will have to do studying on your own behalf. I find, in particular, that one of the advantages of his lessons is that he will go the extra mile to teach you extra content.
Be warned, however, that he is quite picky on formatting where other math teachers wouldn't be.
A good guy but not the best teacher. If you want to learn the most complicated way to do math you will love his class.
Nice guy, but doesn't teach math clearly. He basically does question himself on the overhead, and narrates it. Certainly knows his stuff, he's just very bad at explaining it.
Mr. Rhamey is very good teacher and a very knowledgeable person, and he is not the most easy to like at first but when you get to know him he is very funny and very serious on math. i have had three semesters with him, the first one i failed in my math because in the beginning i was lazy and didn't work hard, but after that he thought me not to quit, never give up and you will get there someday. since then i have been working hard and never given up. Mr. Rhamey is the first person who i have tried and succeeded in proving right . so don't drop that course.
He is such an amazing person. His sense of humor is just perfection! And he cares so much about his students, just a great helper in general. You'll be lucky to have him. At first it may not seem like the case, but by the time you get to know him you will realize how great of a person he really is.
He is the best teacher i have this semester. He is really experienced with math and will teach ALOT of helpful things ecpecially in the financial unit (for grade 11s)
Great teacher. Great person. Very genuine. I wish there were more teachers like him when I was at Glenforest.
Best math teacher ever! If there's something you don't understand, he doesn't just brush it away, he tries to find as many different ways to explain it to you until you do get it. He also gives you
High expectations. If math is not your thing, you won't do well in his class.
He gives you lots of opportunities to boost your mark, if you do all your work and show him that you're trying. He isn't the best at explaining to the class sometimes, but he will always help you if y
Fair and helpful. He expects you to work hard and in return is very understanding and always there to help.
Once I got to know him, I like him a lot. Great sense of humour once you know him. I agree with last posting. Just do what he asks. He makes sense and is very fair.
No problems. Best math teacher I've ever had. If you listen to what he says, he makes sense. He makes difficult things seem easy.
With some teachers they eventually start to roll their eyes when I ask for help. Not Mr. Rhamey. He is very patient and helpful. I was never great at math but I'm doing ok with Mr. Rhamey
I failed math with Mr. Rhamey. Taught me a lesson though. No work equals no marks. I will never let myself down again. In hindsight. Thanks.
Worst math teacher i've had at glenforest. His teaching style is not effective at all and his tests are hard. He makes you hate math. Now with Bertovic i love math!
Tests are short and to the point. Can be tricky if you don't pay attention to what he says. Great sense of humour. Makes class fun.
Good guy. Good teacher. I like his overheads. They make textbook examples easier to understand as lots of times they are done in a different but easier way. Lots of writing but helpful in the long run
Tough and easy. Easygoing but tests are tough if not prepared. Disagree with earlier comment. tests are fair if you do the homework.
Easy going except for the math part. You have to work hard to get good grades. I don't like it but I guess thats fair.
Cool. Work hard and you get excellent marks. I've only had two tests so far, but they are pretty much just like the work assigned in class. Very fair. Math is OK
Really cares that you learn your stuff but a real easy goin guy. I used to be afraid of math class but not now. Very helpful.
he is a easy and funny teacher, and a good teacher, tests are the shortest in my high school career, 1 legal size paper double sided, clear explaination, so wish i could go back to grade 12 again
What is up with not liking overhead notes? They often clear up what is confusing in the textbook. He explains things in a way that I can understand, but sometimes goes a little too fast. Good teacher.
Very helpful if he thinks you're trying. Lazy students might not like the fact that he wants you to do some work.
Encourages you to work. Very fair. Knows his stuff. In spite of the fact that it's math, I enjoy his class.
as a person he's amazing. But when its time to consider math, he becomes serious. Out side of class discussions he's a great person.
a cool teacher, extremely hard i did all the homework and studied for all his tests and still ended up getting 60s-70s i had an 80 with Burton in gr.10, i'm getting around a 60 in gr11 U math with him!
15 years ago I had Mr. Rhamey for gr 11 math & it was blast! Very patient, thorough & he had(s) a great sense of humour once you get to know him - his class brings back pretty good memories-Thank U!
He is the best teacher ever. If you have a question - no matter the redundancy, he will explain it to you until you understand it. =)
He's extremely difficult because he hardly ever gives tests and when he does, he makes them so confusing. Make sure you ask him for extra help, because he's very good one-on-one.
How can you teach calculus from an overhead? I didn't learn much that way.
Not all that approachable. He's probably been teaching too long and isn't into it anymore
Ok hes a great teacher....He is probably the most helpful teacher iv had in Gr 10....Iv only been at GFSS 1 yr but i hear hes been he for ever....lots of xperiance teaching u can t
I graduated from this school 15 years ago and Mr Rhamey is the only teacher still teaching here that I remember. I had him twice and he was a GREAT math teacher for me!
I totally LOVE this teacher. I dunno why other students have beef with him. Just talk to him, he's so laid back!
he talks for like 10 min and the rest of the period we have to study by ourselves...which is kinda bad...but when you ask for help, he's awesome!`
very boring, monotonous, and don't forge to bring a pillow!
Nice and helpful. Notes a bit messy but he's interesting considering his subj.
