I was in your grade 10 Regular English class in 1992-1993. I was a Sri Lankan newcomer and I made a presentation on the history of the Tamil struggle. You were a true inspiration to me at that time. And today, I finished by BEd and I am a teacher.
the greatest teacher in the world. i looked forward to his class. the reason i came to school sometimes. he's amazing. the best teacher you'll ever have. i will never forget him. he taught me more in that one class then i could have learned in a life time. he is also very nice!! and he knows his music very well haha. he always gives you feed back and writes A LOT of stuff on your page when he hands it back. the most insightfull and humble teacher i ever had.i love him.id take his class over again if i could
Mr. Reed is one of the most amazing teachers I have ever had! He's really amazing, very kind and caring, a master at teaching writer's craft! He ensures that his students succeed and is saddened when they don't, though it's never due to a lack of effort on his part. The he teaches the class is so smooth and relaxing you can really connect with other people you normally don't while learning.
his intelligence hasnt gone to wast because hes teaching in high school, im glad he did, because he is incredible. best teacher ever
Mr. Reed was an amazing teacher in many aspects. I have seen only one other English teacher in middle school who was on par with him. Reed ensures that his students come out of his class having learnt something. It's really something when a teacher can make you care more about learning, than about marks, and that is what Mr. Reed fostered inside of us. I'm sick of teachers who simply dish out marks, when their main goal should be to help us learn and improve!
He's amazing. I learned more from half a year of Writer's Craft than in 4 years of English. He fills up half a page with comments on your work. Very soothing voice that makes people sleep in class....
He's the humblest person I know, despite being the "god of technical writing". He respects his students and doesn't use humiliation tactics. Instead of imposing his own opinions on us, he teaches us how to articulate our own.
Brapp! Best teacher ever! this man knows what he is talkin about
Great, great, great teacher. Excellent marker, well-learned. Tends to be a bit boring in class, but that's easily excused because he is a good marker and always gives good assignments, not pointless ones! :)
I couldn't thank Mr. Reed more for his help. I have not been in his class (what a shame), but he has taught me more than any other English teacher had. Wonderful teacher!
THE greatest teacher in Jarvis no question about it. I have never in my life met a teacher that was so dedicated and cared for his students to such an extent. I feel honoured to have met him.
Graduated in '92. Mr.Reed gave me a huge break which single-handedly got me into university and I was never able to thank him in person. I've yet to meet someone more forgiving or understanding.
Mr. Reed: Enriched English was the best! OAC Writer's Craft also rocked! You taught me to love reading and writing!
Mr.Reed is one in a million. Without question, he is one of the best there is. I feel very lucky to have known him. He inspired me to teach and opened my world to literature.
I graduated in 1998 and was in two of David Reed's classes. I agree 100% with the previous poster. One of the best teachers I've had - including law school as well.
I graduated in 1986 from JCI (feeling old saying that) but David Reed was one of the best teachers I've ever had, including University and Law School. One of the all time greats.
I am an English teacher now... Reed taught me years ago. I've never seen anyone since with his talent. Best ever. EVER.
Mr. Reed is not only a wonderful teacher but can alos be a good friend. He understands what it means to be a high school student and provides excellent guidance.
Very fair teacher - Although I could hardly speak English, he complimented my talent in writing. Can't express how much that cheered me.
Very passionate about teaching. Knows how to make English interesting to kids. I took his class in 1990. It's great to hear he still does a great job.
NEVER STOP TEACHING! if you do, i will cry. i'd do it all again if i could, but i'm too old now. thanks for growing older with me, and letting me soar. =)
Mr Reed was the teacher that made me want to take school seriously, only by just going to class. Thank you Mr Reed for inspiring me!
How can I sum this up? Best there is, best there was, best there ever will be. Thanks for some good memories. Appreciative of the opportunity to be taught to.
He has books injected into his blood. Could be anything he wants in the world, but for some strange reason he chose to teach at JCI. However, I'm very grateful
what is he doing, teaching at a high school? -_- the man ought to teach at a university. or some place like that.
He treats his students with a great amount of respect. All his efforts are aknowledged, repspected and impressive! We need more teachers like him!!!
best teacher in the school no questions asked. Not because he marks easy (which he doesn't) but because you actually learn a lot in his class. Always helpfultoo
good teacher...but u have to try in his classes to get a good mark...which is nessesarily not a bad thing.
very hard marker...much effort contributed to class...
not just a great teacher, a great guy. he is valued!
The best teacher at Jarvis. We are richer for having known him.
Could've ruled the world. But he chose to do something noble instead. Thank you.
wow...one of teh best teachers ive ever had...intelligent, charming, involved.
Definitely awesome. Knows a lot about pop culture and is great to talk to...
