He is actually a good music teacher unlike Doug and Oatt.
Hands down one of the most influential and memorable mentors I've ever had. So many years later, I think about Mr. Pietrkiewicz all too often. How he was able to teach a lesson in music and apply it to everyday life astounds me, and as time goes on it becomes more and more relevant. World class educator, world class person. (and the Moldau is still on my ipod)
Great teacher. I enjoy the class very much. He cares about the course and students lot.
Great teacher! Unfortunately both the other music teachers are awful so many great players make the decision not to continue with music and do not get the chance to experience class with him.
One of those teachers you will never forget, and never fully appreciate until many years later. Truly cares about the school, his students and what he does.
And heck, after more than 15 years I can still spell that name!
He cares a lot about music... but doesn't exactly give you any constructive advice... Just stuff like play softer, practise your fingering:), etc... but HOW?? (Answer: pay $50 an hour for a private lesson)
If you want a good mark, play an instrument other people don't play. That way hell give you a high mark to keep you in music nxt year!!
decent teacher, but GUESS WHO ISN'T TAKING MUSIC NEXT YEAR??:
answer: half the class.
He is a great teacher and the best at SMCS
The best music teacher at SMCS period. At times a bit petty, but a terrific, caring individual who doesn't mark solely on ability but also musicality.
Generally a nice guy but he is WAY WAY WAY too uptight. Sir just chill out man don't worry. A lot can get done when you're not stressed out. He's one of those "firm but fair" teachers.
he is the coolest, but he can be kinda hard sometimes
This is prob the best teach in all of SMCS i have had him for 2 years and he has tought me so much about music. "Music is the only subject that the answers are given to you" he does make fun f ppl-lol
Mr Pietrkiewicz was my music teacher for three years in the 90s. Yes he was tough. Yes he was tight-fisted with really good marks. What do you want? Someone who blows your horn for you? A great teache
I disagree with almost everybody here... he is a great teacher. He knows what he's doing and he helps everyone. He is a good explainer and really respects everybody in the class.
Cement is hard, the test is difficult. YOU'RE TESTS AREN"T DIFFICULT!!!
If he likes you, your set for the entire year. If he doesnt, it doesnt matter how much musical talent you have, prepare to get picked on a lot.
Most quick witted teacher at SMC. So many laughs because of him. Great guy in ur senior years. Never a student of his but hes still one of the greats.
We butted heads all the time. 8 years later, I know why...he wants you to excel. That is what all teachers should have, and most lack!! Keep it up Mr. P!!
i love music and tuba. these immature kids are writing dumb stuff. forget them.
Likes survivor, didn't burn me with the key , How more great can you get?
Sir Ur Awesome...These other ppl are retarded....dont worry about them....
Knows his stuff......but hates to wander from the classicalist thinking
great music teacher little unclear and quick sometimes
