Sad to see this one go. One of the best science teachers I've ever had.
Mr.Keehn is an amazing man. He is very funny and kind, but often times, people get angry at him for not teaching well. Sometimes this is agreeable, but I feel that personally, he explains Physics very well because he is so passionate about the subject. My advice to you is to take lots of notes, study, and work hard. It's possible to get a good grade if YOU put in that effort. Good luck!
You will definitely learn "physics"
Great teacher, prepares you for university
Knowledgeable about physics, the other subjects are a bit of a blur. He is a good person and takes time to explain misunderstandings
He barely explains things. He marks very hard and barely teaches. He takes marks off for the dumbest things like being too detailed. If you get majority of an answer right you lose all marks. Terrible
Cannot understand the concepts clearly and saying random stuff that makes no connection to the lesson. Homeworks are irrelevant to the daily lesson (from my experience).
does not explain concepts clearly and rushes the lessons
I'll be honest, before coming to his class, I was very scared that I would fail his class and learn absolutely nothing. However, luckily, he's not as bad as most of his reviews say. He does do some weird stuff in class (swinging a bowling ball from the ceiling), but he has good intentions. In short, he's a great guy but a bad teacher. Most of my friends complain about low marks but to be honest, physics is a complex subject, and you have to do the homework to understand it. Oh and take notes.
Very fun teacher in every aspect having to do with character, you're gonna enjoy the class time. But man doesn't know shitake mushrooms how to teach physics in an understandable manner. We were assigned a project that had absolutely nothing to do with the curriculum. If you get this guy and expect a teacher that cares about you or your understanding of the content...run. If you do get him the best way to survive his class is to constantly be asking for clarification and help, he's hella smart.
Spends half the class "making us think" with abstract questions that only serve to confuse most students before actually beginning to teach anything. Even when he does teach, he's scatterbrained and often gets his info mixed up and has to revisit topics once he realizes. Again, confusing. Class difficulty varies wildly based on class averages so if you're not good at physics stuck with geniuses you're screwed. TL;DR he doesn't teach. Learn everything from the tb. Good luck.
If you are in his class, just sit down (maybe listen to music secretly) and smile. I can only speak from my grade 9 experience but if you sit in the back he wont bother you. You can fake working during class, the only things he grades are exams, projects and unit covers. The exams are confusing, you can fool him by writing a lot of paragraphs with big words. Take into account that he likes to be in charge and he walks around the classroom when giving pages of the CP or the textbook. Worst jokes!
Great guy overall, but if you want to learn physics, you are probably better off reading and studying from the 2 textbooks he uses. if you did well in his grade 9 or 10 class and expect it to be the same for physics, it wont happen. He strives to keep the class average at 73%
Overall, Mr.Keehn is a great teacher but you have to make sure you ask him questions you don't understand or he won't know you're having trouble. His tests are long so you have to really understand the information and study well because they are very time consuming. However, once you get used to it, the tests are fairly easy (but you have to study).
He is a really good teacher, he always makes sure everyone understands.
He really knows what he is talking about and you will learn a lot. Just make sure to do your homework.
Gotta love Mr Keehn! He has such a hilarois sense of humour!
Mr Keehn is so funny, we all look forward to his class! He is a great guy and teacher. We constantly do experiments and hands on activities which is so much more fun than textbook questions. If you need extra help he is always available and he can help explain. He explains science using examples which is good. You're lucky if you have him.
Cool physics teacher who tells really bad jokes. Mr. Keehn is no regular teacher playing by the rules, teaches from the book, and gives everyday homework. He is more then that, gives his heart out and
I just hope he will remember my name by the end of the semester :S
A teacher who really cares about the students and helps want you need it. Just a bit hard though.
A nice guy. He won't remember your name. Explains things in a complex way, but, you can always ask him for help. He grows on you.
Only knows physics, everything else he explains "just is, don't ask". Horrible at explaining, can't print properly..
he's really nice. i find him talk about every important points in the class through vivid examples, though i don't find most students get the point. but he makes physics class interesting
i say he is a very nice and funny teacher. Am not sure if he actually explains thing poorly, i'll just learn whatever he teaches me.
For someone teaching physics, I'd say he did a really good job. Physics is pretty hard to explain, especially to people who never took it before. Doesn't really check homework well but works both ways
He was a really funny and likable guy, told a lot of jokes & stories that made science bearable. His homework checking methods are questionable & his smartboard technique is lacking.
bad. cannot teach at all. goes off on tangents and uses elephants to explain vectors. try switching if you have him.
not a good teacher at all, doesn't no what he's do at times. this physic project is not thoughfully plan out causing some student to fail
Mr. Keehn knows a lot of stuff, but he's not very good at teaching them. He does want his students to succeed though. =D
Mr. Keehn was ok! He makes lots of jokes. He knows his stuff, but he's not that well at conveying them when he's teaching. Just remember to ask lots of question when you have him.
He is sometime hard to understand but if you ask him hes a great teacher. Hes also very helpfuland acually wants his students to succed.
first unit in physics was just HORRIBLE. like half the class dropped, but after that he got better..slightly.
good teacher. is always willing to help. has made physics one of my favourite subjects.
awesome teacher.....don't teach alot....but knows alot of stuff...=P
OOOOOO ya mr. keehn i was a student that in ur physics class. i think u r very funny but u teach very good n u r a nice guy
He's not funny, but he's good at making things clearn. He is really not funny!
