Listen, Morris isn’t easy. However, she is very knowledgeable of the subject and knows how to teach it. She’s very energetic, funny, and helpful. Her classes are almost always exciting, you’ll never be bored. If you get her, it’s great because you’ll learn a lot. Be prepared to work hard, though.
She usually doesn’t know what she is doing. She makes you do work her way which isn’t always the best. Her tests always have spelling mistakes and mistakes that makes the question-impossible to answer. She always makes mistakes correcting your work and never explains why you got a low mark and if you go to her she can’t justify why and often ends up changing it.She always blame her mistakes on students and gives pointless lectures that have nothing to do with English. Switch out of her class.
Shebarely taught anything that we would actually use in real life. All you learn in her class is the specific things she wants to see you write to be able to pass her class. Shes an incredibly lazy marker and I highly doubt that she ever actually read any of my work all the way through, she skips through looking for little keywords that she wants to see and if you don't put them in you get a bad mark regardless of how good your actual writing was. Super sinical, believes theworst in her students
Ms. Morris tries do make her classes interesting and unique. The problem is her assignments are often not very clear or don't make a lot of sense. She is not the hardest marker I've ever had but she is definitely the most picky one. If you don't write exactly the way she wants you too, you WILL fail the assignment.
Well, yes, she is very strict on deadlines, and she is a hard marker, but if you put effort into it, you can get through with a great mark. The only reason people dislike her is because she doesn't offer flexibility with multiple-time-offenders when missing deadlines. You miss it once? that's alright, mistakes happen. anything after twice and you're on your last straw. Each time you miss a deadline, you have to get your parents to sign a form and return it the next day or you get a zero.
Worst teacher I have ever had. Very disorganized, she pushes everything further back until it is all clustered together. Gives multiple assignments at once. She even wrote a quiz that she had planned weeks prior IN THE SAME PERIOD IT WAS TO BE WRITTEN, and it had a lot of spelling mistakes and some unanswerable questions. My class was her first year using Google Classroom, and her inability to use it correctly made it very difficult for all of my class. If you get her, switch out immediately.
Her class was consistently my lowest mark. It's alot of work, and I think it was extremely stressful, but I can't remember too well. My brain is blocking out the horrors of grade 12 English. It was entertaining though. She's charismatic and tells funny stories. Also there was alot of group class work, which was nice because I had a crush on this girl who sat near me (so it was convenient for us to be in groups together), but it also sucked because I had that crush and I'm shy and awkward
In order to do well in her class you need to really listen to what she's looking for. She'll give mindlessly complicated instructions that you have to follow exactly in order to get a good grade. There were so many assignments that were just useless and didn't show off your english ability. It was all about following her weird instructions.
She also does some questionable stuff, and picks on the guys in the class for some reason. Overall, not a good teacher.
She is definitely not an easy teacher, especially if you are a boy. She gives a lot of assignments at the same time, and the last couple weeks of the semester are hell with her because she crams so much stuff. That being said, shes a great teacher. She prepares you for the next year soooo well. I do recommend her if you are good at english
Seriously the worst of the worst. She forces the students to do things her way, or no way. Have no logical sense and like to favour students aka her pets, while likes to insult and bring the rest students down. Acts like she knows more than what the textbook or author writes. Terrible teaching skills, don't ever sign up for any of her class.
Never gave clear instructions and often issued contradictory advice. I strongly advise any future students of her's to switch to another teacher or sign up to take the course online instead. Also a very tough marker. 0/5 Stars
Great Teacher, Great class. Thanks for the awesome semester, learn't alot! -Nima Jeyrani
Best teacher I've ever had!!! I love her soo much and I'm so grateful to have such an amazing teacher. -Michael Dettorre
by far the worst teacher ive ever had no consideration for the students or their outside lives (work, sports etc) unclear forgetful and scattered. grades based on her own opinion instead of quality of work. drop her course if you get it, save yoursel
easily one of the worst teachers in ottawa, she is very unfair too her students and is very unclear with her instructions I recommend if you get her as a teacher to drop her class and try to re-schedule for a different teacher
Honestly? I seriously hope no one has to endure a class with this woman. She is constantly contradicting herself in every possible way, all the while she is giving us an unrealistic, stupid amount of work to do. Example: Read your ISU novel, Hamlet, and the Great Gatsby all at the same time and be ready for a quiz.
Mrs. Morris is a great person... however when it comes to teaching she isn't the greatest clearly. She gives too much useless assignments every week, makes you work hard for practically nothing in return. When it comes to marking essays and tests she is very strict and unfair. I had her for ENG4U and finished the course with a 69... when in ENG3U I came out with an 85. When it comes to determing your report card mark she pulls a number out of her ****... seriously. I don't recommend her at all.
Very humorous and chill. Gives too much homework which really increases stress level but if you complete it all, it makes exams that much easier. ISU is too much though. Very fair marker.
Ms.Morris is always there for help, she really wants you to understand the work. But really the initial instructions she gives you are confusing. The one thing I bad thing I have to say is that with my class she didn't understand blended modes, so your mark isn't actually what it should be.
Not an awful teacher, but really not a great one. She seems to talk down to her students sometimes, and can quite frankly get on your nerves worse than any other teacher.
Ms. Morris rocks! She's the best English teacher in the school. Explains the essay so that you acutally get it.
Treats her students like they are six, and sometimes it feels like she wishes she was six...
love the journal idea..wastes time from boring english stuff. umm she is an ok teacher..does this weird thing with a finger and her ear which is really gross! crongrats on her baby! and she is ok.
Ms. Morris is the worst english teacher that i have ever had she's so terrible and she acts like its not her fault if anything goes wrong she needs to chill out on the homework
English with Morris /= fun. She hates all the guys in the class because they're male, and isn't very helpful at all. Just thankful she doesn't teach 12U english.
when i first started i loved her. then i hated her. now i have a teacher so bad i now know how lucky i really was....
Media was an interesting course but the notes we took were not that great. She comprimises with the class (almost too much) on certain matters (like a summative test XD).
She tries, I'll give her that. But most of the time, she ends up confusing herself and we have to correct her. Hates boys too.
Just because she makes you work doesn't mean she's mean. She's funny and actually cares about whether we learn something or not.
confusing, worst isu i have ever had, she gave, it makes no sense
the worst teacher i've ever had. She wastes my time with pointless journals. She blames everything that goes wrong on 2 or 3 people that she doesn't like.
She's an alright teacher... give her a chance and if you actually try, you can do great!
She piles on the work, but it's good stuff at least.
She's funny smart and amusing. Her work is so EASY! She also gives easy grades! Ian Brittan's favorite teacher!
Makes you work hard, but she's fair and teaches some useful stuff.
can't teach at all, useless repetitive assignments like copying lines. wastes time with "journal time" which she never reads. blames everything on one person.
She's a good teacher - not easy - but her marks are fair. Plus her stories are soooo funny!
k, DON'T TEATCH, you sent people to the office for no reason, and STOP TRING TO MOTHER ME!
if you can't even teach englihs.. go home... holy dramatic!
Watch out if you're a guy, that's an automatic 30% off your final mark.
A bit sketchy...limited appreciation for style in writing. Good person overall
Obvious fan of Drama. Methods are unorthodox, but work.
Very eccentric. Morrisaur's methods are uh interesting, can be fun but ugh
