I had Mr. Motica for both Calculus and Physics. He really teaches like a university professor and that prepared me so well for first year in McMaster University. Thanks to his knowledge and his teaching, I am finding the Math and Physics course relatively easier. It is indeed true that he can stuff many concepts into one class, but if you get used to his teaching style, you are well prepared for university. He also writes his own textbook which is lit.
I love him so much he's one of the best math teachers in EH. Super easy tests and quizzes. You will get 90+ if you do all the work. Very funny and kind old man. was unclear at first but you will quickly get used to his teaching. very lucky if you have him.
He teaches like a university prof who brings in uni material and incorporate them into high school calculus. (G12 MCV)
Expect difficult tests in the beginning, and slightly easier but still difficult tests (compared to other teachers) as the course progresses as he adjusts his test to the class's performance. Don't despair when your mark drop as he will drop some marks before report card. Always there for extra help--go during lunch.
Definitely teaches like a university prof. His lectures are extremely engaging. This is going to be an amazing year.
He is the best math teacher ever! Very clear and detail oriented! He gives out a lot of handouts and quizzes to prepare us better for the test. Thanks so much Mr.Motica for your hardwork!
teaches like university professors, i love him <3
Amazing teacher! I guarantee you, he is the best math teacher at Haig. He teaches like a university prof, his evaluations are not hard at all! he will give you all the questions in advance as practice probs, do those you will get a 90 in his class
Mr motica's best phrase. Otday claus wee will have a kweez
He teaches like a university professor, it feels like we are in university. He likes to go beyond the curriculum, such as the antiderivatives and integrals in the work-energy problems. One of the best teachers in school.
If you have him for Physic or Math, you are considered to be luckiest student. He teaches so clear that you can even understand it without a problem. One of the problem is his english however it doesn't impact at all. He also gives free marks before university sees it which essentially better than most of math teachers. If you work hard, you will more likely get 90% without a problem. Sometimes he teaches some questions on the board that is on test so keep that in your mind!
If you have him, consider yourself really lucky. He truly is one of the teachers that knows his stuff and the one that actually teaches. He always takes some steps further and always there to help you. He has a great experience and is ready to pass it down to his students and by the end of the course you're going to feel prepared to take the next step. Thank you Mr. Motica.
THANK YOU MR. MOTICA FOR PASSING DOWN YOUR WISDOMMMM. <3 CALCULUSSSS
Great man. Knowledgeable, funny, easy going. It's an honour to be in his class and just wish I had worked harder.
Mr.Motica is a GREAT teacher. He knows what he is doing, and he helps the students a lot. His math tests are kinda hard but HE IS ONE OF THE BEST MATH TEACHER!!!
mr. motica is a good teacher if you know what you are doing. however, he seems really nice and talks about parallel lines in the first few weeks, but later he gets really boring and by the way, i am talking about him as a math teacher.
He taught me grade 10 math, he was clear and I understood him. He cares about his students, if you listen in class and do some work you'll do fine. No surprises on tests and sometimes makes jokes.
He is a very knowledgeable and fair teacher. Always gives bonuses, people are going from 97 averages in the first semester to 100 in my class. The only thing he needs to improve is his sentence structure/grammar when speaking English which is not that much of a problem.
BEST PHYSICS TEACHER IN THE SCHOOL!!!! He is amazing and fair, he hands out his notes to students, no surprises on tests, gives students hints when the question is really hard..(well, sometimes). So glad I have him for AFCAL and Physics this year. BTW, as long as you listen during the class and do the work he assigned, achieving 90 is not hard at all!!! Once again, GREAT TEACHER..EVER!
He's amazing. He's brilliant actually, soo smart. If you pay attention to what he writes down and what he's saying, do all your homework, you'll be fine. If you dont get something, you can always ask for help, he goes through it 1:1 VERY thoroughly. I love it when he makes occasional jokes it cracks up the whole class. He's really passionate and he cares for his students' marks so he tries to be as lenient as possible, while still being fair. One of the best math teachers I've had!
One of the most amazing teachers I ever had. I had him for physics, he is completely fair. He cares SO much about his students. His tests were fair. His style of teaching is amazing he prepares you well for everything. There are no surprises on tests :)
He's a fair teacher, but sometimes it takes a while to understand what he is trying to communicate to us.
I have him for math and I don't know if this would be helpful at this page. However I think I know him well enough to do a review. He is a nice guy, but really a "so-so" teacher. I see that he has a passion for teaching and really cares for his students to do well, but I DONT UNDERSTAND HIM. He writes on the black board, I have no idea what he writes on the black board. It could be because he crams every little detail in that tiny space (also he kinda write his x, y, etc. weird.) Brought you by a grade 12.
you guys will thank him later when you got to university. He's teaching you! .... not like others clowns in school just trying to have a good time. He is really good, the best! I enjoyed his class a lot.
One of the best physics teachers you can get. I used to think that he's this super serious guy, cauz then you see him around the hallways he always has this strict facial expression. However, his classes are awesome. And he always starts talking about physics, but once he wanders off to his monologue, he can end up talking about ANYTHING, life, sport, philosophy. And he has a very intellectual sense of humour. he's cool
It helps to listen and to have a certain brain capacity. He does not fool around with physics; knows what he is talking about and doesn't try to BS with jokes. Some people don't like a challenge, but frankly he is more of a professor than a teacher.
Seldom I have seen such a woanderful teacher. If you aim for university then you should have him for physics and math. He teaches in a very logical and comprehensive way as university professors do. Best teacher I ever had!
He knows his stuff but can't really teach it. He makes the tests up in front of us, lets us use our cheat sheet but tells us that it's not a real test.
he brings up interesting topics in class aside from (core) physics. Good teacher overall. =D
HE IS TEH BEST TEACHER AND PWNS ALL OTHER TEACHERS YO! SO INTERESTING AND GOT ME INTERESTING IN PHYSICS YO YO!
best teacher I ever had.I'm lucky to be bin his physics class. If you are good in math expect to do well in his class. He knows a lot....
He is a very funny teacher, knows his stuff. But it is very hard to understand him, and questions on the tests dont match what he had taught us. He class is kinda hard
knows his stuff, hard to understand though hard to pay attention to
umm hes okay. explains stuff but the stuff on his tests dont math what we learn. u gotta read the book too. hes also funny..sorta
if you are in grade 9 expect a lot of physics from Mr.Motica.
Hes one of the smartest ppl I've ever met. a bIT hard, but if you listen u learn a LOT!
Hes very smart, so to do well you do to. Also he is hilarious, in a very dark way. I enjoyed his class and learned thousands of N.
He's nice, but I literally fell asleep in his class. Physics tends to do that to me.
he's nice but...he kept on repeat a questiont that u asked him...and he puts me to sleep during class...without tryin..lol
he treats us like frds.. he is like the only teacher who lets us use notes for any quiz or test...
oh my gosh, i'm so lucky i have him for physics!! the best phy teacher in the school...=)
How can you learn from a teacher who never gives examples with numbers and answers questions by reiterating the whole unit?
VERY condescending, notes are hard to follow, unreliable, hates teaching
Funny teacher, good maker, but you still have to self-teach
I am always right Solve for 'teta and you'll see it's zeeeloh!
He's a funny man. And DEFINITELY competent. A bit too fast with explation tho
