Mr. Mallette makes me love chemistry, to be honest, I really recommend him if you want to learn lots of stuff and prepare for university. He makes everything crystal clear and is willing to answer your questions any time. Although his tests are quite hard to get high marks and it's easy to be disappointed (even discouraged) to continue learning by the low marks, you can still learn A-LOT in his classes. Highly recommended.
Mr Mallette is an awesome teacher; he teaches super well and prepares us thoroughly for his tests.
Big difference in his teaching from Chem 11 to Chem 12. In Chem 11 it's easy to do well - he really prepares you for the tests and even though his exams are hard, you can get a good mark. For Chem 12, most of the test averages were about 60%, and you could study for 10 hours and still get a meh mark. He's very knowledgeable and helpful if you don't understand, and has a real passion for what he teaches which makes the class interesting. He's a really nice guy, just don't get on his bad side.
An amazing prep for University chemistry. You will appreciate him come first year. Thank you Mallette!!
He's very meticulous. Be careful when you do your assignments & tests. Overall, I learned a lot from him.
I have him for Chem 11 now and I love his class! He explains everything clearly and I can get the stuff very quickly. But he likes to pick on people for jokes, which isn't a bad thing. But watch out for his half-mark-offs, this can kill you in a test! You gotta know your sig-figs!
Mallette's a pretty good teacher. I have him first thing in the morning and his enthusiasm always wakes me up. Though he does make a couple of small errors here and there, he clearly knows his stuff. He's super picky about your work so make sure you do it right and check it over.
Mr. Mallette is one of the best teachers at Lord Byng and you'd be very fortunate to have him as your teacher. He is funny and knowledgeable. His tests, however, are something you have to work hard to earn the grades. If you listen to his lectures and do all the assignments assigned, you're guaranteed to do well in his class.
I can't wait for Chem 12. Mr Mallette made chem really interesting (and hard), but I realized that it made my foundation very strong. It was kind of tough with some of the concepts but you know what? He's actually always willing to help out anytime (as long as it doesn't conflict with rugby). He does homework checks and they actually count for marks so do your work! Overall, a very dedicated teacher who clearly knows his stuff inside out.
Mr Mallette is currently my chem teacher. I personally find him quite knowledgable, and he really tries to help all students understand the concepts and processes of chemistry. Make sure you pay attention in class and take down ALL his notes. If you don't understand something, GO AND ASK HIM. You don't want that minor/major detail to bite back at you during the test/quiz. Out of all the teachers I had, Mr Mallette is one of the best.
He has mood swings sometimes and gets angry all of a sudden for no apparent reason in the middle of the lesson. Sometimes, he is very helpful and sometimes not. Honestly it depends on the day.
His exams (like him) are very specific so in order to succeed in this class, make sure to know your material inside and out. Also use the correct scientific terms!
Be careful of his half marks off too!
The best teacher I've had in high school. Don't take his course if all you want is a high mark as he is a pretty tough (but fair) marker, but if you need a solid foundation in Chemistry do so. He'll make you work , but if you listen and do what's expected of you, you'll learn a lot and do fine in the course. And try not to get on the wrong side of him. Don't talk when he's talking, bags on the floor, do your homework, don't get caught doing stuff for another class. Simple stuff if you ask me.
He is a good teacher, but it is either his way or the highway. If you know how to do a question but it's different then what he has taught then he views it as wrong. Also when marking he takes off a half mark for EVERYTHING, you can do the question his way and get the right answer but if you forget a plus sign on an ion inthe middle on your equation when it's not a huge deal then you lose a half
Mr Mallette is a great teacher and a really nice guy. However he marks with brutality. Be prepared to work hard in this class.
he is a really good teacher overall, he makes everything concept very clear in the simpliest ways. BUT he is very picky with your works and takes off half marks for everthing. Still he is a nice and easy-going teacher.
He's the best teacher I've ever met--of all subjects (seriously)! He's so informative and helpful; unlike most teachers, he's very sure of himself. So, you have no trouble what to do since you have one 'straight' way to solve the question. In addition, he strongly stresses clarity and neatness, a combination that makes him an oustanding teacher!
Hes a funny guy. My only problem with him is his need to find the smallest of errors, its like being killed by a thousand paper cuts; half marks off every where. Other wise he is a clear teacher and chem is pretty easy. One more thing for your own sake Mallette dont erase the same notes between classes it will save you time!!
very easy-going teacher, connects with students nicely. even though its hard to understand what he's talking about sometimes because he uses complicated words.
he's pretty tough but if you don't understand something he's really good about explaining things and always has time for you after class. super funny, overall a great guy
Mallette is such a great teacher. Easy to understand his teaching style, funny and makes chem a class to look forward too.
he uses his own terminology to make himself look educated and makes things more complicated
He tried to make me leave Mr. Jack's Cross country team to join his rugby team, and he clearly had the experience of converting people before... he used every trick in the book.
look who it is, the man of the hour, all of the glory none of the power! haha best teacher i have seen yet. nice guy if you dont agrivate.. good luck with the new baby!
Awesome teacher. I love the notes he write on the board, NEAT and CLEAR. He explains everything very well. Very helpful.
Mallette is awesom... actually teaches and doesnt just give notes... talks a bit too much abotu rugby tho... just get on his good side and ur in for a fun year
u are a really hard teacher, but you were also really funny!!
Mallette is an awsome teacher, I've never likes science until I was in his class. He made everything so much fun.
mr mallet owns! helped me sooo much for math and sience mid years.. thanks man!
Never met a teacher who actually takes the time to remember his graduated students and asks how they are often, great guy.
Hammer is a enthusiastic teacher who works equally as hard for his Byng rugby program. He truly earns my respect
Hey punk, when u try to complain about his test, may be u should take the note u got in there, and bring that rust pair of ears of yours to class next time.
THERE IS ONLY FEW GOOD MAN LEFT, AND HE IS ONE OF THE KIND. (HAMMER IS THE GREATEST TEACHER ON EARTH!!!)

His tests are hell, but he's a nice guy. Very clear and concise notes. Just do your HW and study..... lol
Horrible, horrible teacher with horrible, horrible jokes. You are not funny. If he's not careful he will end up with his mother-in-law's job.
