English is beyond a language, it is a way to express your thoughts and ideas. This was never allowed in his classroom; grammatical rules and his own opinions came before creativity, well thought out arguments and exploratory papers. Students should not fear to be expand their minds.
A brilliant teacher, passionate about literature and an inspiration. I hope he's enjoying his retirement, would've liked to say thanks for a great year. He didn't make it "easy" to pass his class, you really had to work. He even marked the "notes" I forgot to take out of my binder.
Ahhh, Mr. Cummings. There can be only one! By far the most intelligent man I've ever met. He's a man of legend, that's for sure.
Wicked teacher, had him two years in a row. He teaches his class more like a university lecture. He's passionate about what he teaches and knows his stuff. He doesn't care if you're not interested, in fact he'll just plain out fail you (good for him). He inspired me. I hope he's having a great retirement.
