As some people have pointed out, Michael Del Balso's classes are somewhat unstructured, which can be frustrating and difficult for those who have difficulty with organization. However, he is extremely knowledgeable and interesting! The amount of knowledge this man has is fascinating. So, if you show up to class, you will gain valuable knowledge. Also, exams are extremely easy if you take notes and read his posts. Overall, a great teacher!

Is really knowledgeable but class is all over the place no structure at all giving you no motivation to show up to class.. exams are pretty easy but material is all self-taught from readings online and videos .. class itself is pretty pointless

Personally, I did not enjoy him as a teacher. He did not grade fairly and his class had nothing to do with his exams. The essay grades for the whole class were bad (average in the 60s). If you can pick another teacher for sociology, do so.

His explanations are also very clear and if you have any questions, you can go ask him. He is really nice and his exercises are straight forward to the point. His exams are literally the notes in class so just revise them.

Absolutely loved his teacher. He's really sweet and his notes are very clear. Little excersizes he assigns maybe every 2 weeks, super easy and very straightforward. His exams are also very easy since he does give a study guide, always did well in his exams. Try not missing classes cause you'll miss a lot of notes. Super nice and doesn't pick on you or get angry at all. His class goes by pretty fast because it's super interesting, would definitely recommend him.

He's a really sweet teacher who understand that textbooks are expensive so he puts readings on LÉA instead. His class is very easy.

Because he didn't make us buy the textbook, it was kind of difficult to follow with the readings on internet. Also, the notes he makes us take are really unclear and he's the kind of teacher who switches the slide before the students are done so its practically impossible to relay on them to study. That appart, he's always saying "as such" and ''nevertheless''.

I liked him. He's a good teacher, helpful, and his class isn't too hard. He gives little exercises to do at home and it counts for particpation marks and they are easy but you don't have any assignment to do until the end of the semester. He only gives you 1 at the end. Pretty easy. His tests are multiple choices and are easy to pass if you listen and study well. I recommend you to take him.

Classes are very boring and quite pointless (towards the end of the semester, he begins to cover material that is not found in the book and is exam material). He likes to make jokes and talk all class. Taking notes isn't really necessary because everything is in the book. If you study from the book you are guaranteed a 85 on the tests. Basically just passively listening and reading, taking notes, and studying from the book will get you a 90 in the semester.

Class is boring. All he does is lecture and show videos. No point in taking notes. Most of the material covered in class is in the book. Tests are easy and consist of multiple choice and short answers. Assignments are minimal and simple. Just do them and hand them in on time and you'll automatically get marks. But like I said, very boring. Everyone would be texting, sleeping or talking in that class. Study and you'll be good. Overall, easygoing teacher.

Although the classes are pretty boring, his class is very easy. All assignments (3 per semester) get 100% as long as you hand them in on time. His tests are mostly multiple choice and he sometimes asks for random facts. Study for his tests!

I had him for work and society and never studied one second but managed to get 82 because all assignments handed in on time get full points. Test are a little difficult though. I barely tried in that class and finished with 82. He is a very nice teacher though.

Funny little guy - and super lenient. Depending on which sociology course u take, experience varies, for example in work and society, the class is boring as hell, despite him being a good teacher. Very laid back and doesnt complicate things - and he barely assigns anything - very good teacher, just be prepared to deal with a boring class if youre gonna take work and society
