certainly the best teacher for any science course I've ever had, its my second year with him and I've learnt more this year in chemistry than all my other years in the sciences.
He likes you way better if you're in AP
Dr. Maurice is by far the best Chemistry / Physics teach you can hope to have in high school. I am now a successful structural engineer and I owe almost all of that to the foundation he provided in both physics and chemistry. No, he's not sympathetic if you lack effort but if you're willing to learn he will teach you. Years later I asked for help the morning before a university chemistry exam he came in early without a second thought.
He certainly knows how to do chemistry problems, but he doesn't have a great attitude towards teaching. If you're struggling or need help, he isn't very sympathetic.
He's the best teacher that I have had. There's never a boring class, but if you get offended easily, he isn't for you. As long as you study the crap out of his notes, you should be good for his tests. Although his tests are hard, they are fair.
Very knowledgeable you take away a lot from his course but prepare to work hard because he is one hard teacher!
He's one of the worst teacher I've ever met. His class doesn't make sense and the tests and quizzes are damm hard. He gives everyone a low mark and try to control the class average below 90. Most important thing is that, the notes are TOO MUCH
Hard course, good teacher
You either love him or you hate him. He rags on everyone equally; no, you're not being singled out for bullying; no, he doesn't hate you, he treats literally everyone like that. Very abrasive but a good and clear teacher. Notes are well written and clear, worksheets are very good practice for tests. Side note: don't ask his opinion on global warming. (He thinks it doesn't exist.)
really cool teacher! my favourite! so knowledgeable in chemistry and many other topics, funny, engaging, etc etc really cool dude wish we were friends instead of teacher student
If you actually want to be a chemist, than this is your guy. If you want to get a good grade, than I'm sorry for you
Be prepared to be humiliated in front of the class if you don't know an answer. Incredibly hard tests, and he usually doesn't prepare you properly for them.
Great teacher! He's hard but he knows so so much. If you listen there's NO CHANCE that you won't understand, his instructions are really crystal clear. Some people find him intimidating to ask questions to, but all you gotta do is step up and ask him. He will help you, but be prepared for light teasing if your question is obvious of if he already went over it. He's also really funny. Just don't sit front row if you want to keep your hearing by the end of the year! His voice penetrates! good guy
He has a Phd yet he teaches highschool. I think he just likes being better then everyone else because when anyone asks him a question he makes them feel like an idiot. He does at least 10 examples for every lesson and he does
hard teacher, but prepares you ! gotta try hard in his class!
It may seem as if he's a hard teacher, but he's actually teaching us what we have to know, with a little extra push. It's great having him, and he knows what he's doing! All in all, amazing teacher, and he even side tracks.
Dmo is a very knowledgable teacher, who makes learning about chemistry in high school worthwhile. I personally took his class to prepare myself for university and NOT to "boost" my average. So keep that in mind.
although he is a hard and soe teacher, he prepares you well for the future:P
His class is always a good time, he is so opinionated we always end up off topic and arguing about some random thing. He is probably one of my favourite teachers, just study hard and take time on his multiple choice.
Very funny and intelligent, very disciplined and marks within 12 hours of u writing any test or quiz. Usuually u get result the same day. But dont let him know ur planning to take chem in summerschoool, he doesnt like that
Always loves to help students. knows chemical formulas without looking up. A very good explainer who really does teach knowledges.
a little big-headed but i was always able to ask him a question. Very interesing guy and on top of his work. He's a fast and fair marker.
If you possibly wish to survive Chemical Engineering or Oragnic Chemistry at a University Level, this is the man. Did you know at Carson and Westview, they don't deal with sig figs? He might be hard, but he gives you a future
seriously now, what is a man with a doctorate in physics doing teaching high school in the first place?.... seems to me like he may not quite have made the cut for something bigger
Dr.Maurice is great! And also helpful!....for poeple who thinks he is hard, how are u people going to survive in univeristy?!....U will appreciate everyhting he taught you once you get to university....
He's a hard teacher but he's good.I dont think he makes you feel stupid, as long as u take it humorously your fine. Also his tutorials are quite helpful
He's a bit mean sometimes but he's brilliant at science and a good teacher. Overall I'd have to say he's good.
Dr. Maurice is amazing! Sure, he's pretty tough, but he's a great teacher and really quite funny.
It's true Dr. Maurice is not easy. But he's such an amazing teacher! I wanted to take Chem just cuz I knew he'd be my teacher. Then found out I can't take that many credits. :<
This guy is smart, sometimes goes off topic but we always learn something cool. awesome when he did the big ball of fire.very organized and isn't big on excuses
omg..so evil..he said hez purposely gonna amke our chem 11 last quiz of the year IMPOSSIBLE..i mean have a little mercy..most of us have 6 other subjects
lol, ur sOoO screwed if u get this guy, picks favs (dun get on his bad side), REALLY HARD, and his jokes r pretty lame, get ready for having an awful yr wit him
We learn from our mistakes, so I wish he wouldn't make you feel like a moron if you make one.
Maurice is a great teacher. He knows his stuff, and is willing to help IF you ask him. Doesn't hand marks out easily... STUDY for his tests/ quizzes.
He's great. taking notes all class is lame but u know-he's hilarious!...gotta study hard for his tests + quizzes...especially those multiple choice Q's! AH! >.<
, i like the way he teaches , he is very organized and everything is straight forward , if u read the notes u do well on the test , very clear ,GOOD TEACHER
His lessons are really informative and surpasses the normal curriculum. Eventhough he is HARD, you can really learn your Chemistry from him.
A superb teacher! Always willing to help and answer questions, very methodical and organized, and always interesting. A very fair marker.
He makes it sound like his stuff is so hard, but really if you compare it with university it's a joke.
Dr. Maurice!!! haha, gotta admit didn't really like him at first, but after seeing how other teachers teach I have learnt to really appreciate his teaching.
He's really smart, but I think he should lighten up on the multi choice questions. He expects his students to know SCN as well as he does.
he is a really great teacher who really nows what he is talkig about...study really hard for his test.
He's an excellent teacher~!! He really helped me understand Chemistry. I did really good on my provincial. Besides, he truly knows why he's talking about.
Maurice has helped me so much to understand science for the past 2 years and he's going to do an awesome job in grade 10 too. Too bad I keep missing the garbage
Yes, he is hard, but he's hilarious and is a REALLY good teacher.
Don't complain about his tests being hard, cause his class has a 90% average on the provincial every year... why take the course if you're not willing to learn?
dr.maurice is the only reason i didn't fail chem in university. an awesome teacher who will ALWAYS help you with problems, no matter how stupid they may be.
He's a really good teacher, but his tests are impossible, especially his multi choice! I love his jokes!
OMG prey you do not get this guy. Test averages are below a C all the time and he teaches WAY too much, i mean stuff that isnt even in the curriculum
