she is absolutely the best teacher I had ever met at Pinetree, her class is always funny and she is extremely knowledgeable in terms of her understanding for China. Don't trust others' opinion because they r so that rude that Ms Chan has to be mean to them. Trust me, Ms Chan is really funny and you will definitely love her!!! Ms Chan I love you so much!!!!!!!!!!

You want an easy A-B take manderin, but you have to go through hell in my experience. Just finish the work and be loud. I still suggest droping the course tho, near the exams things the teacher will get really mad so just be chill. Good luck

Very knowledgeable teacher, as long as you pay attention and act reasonably, you will have no problems. Although she may handle some situations differently, it is not her intent to offend any students. Definitely recommend taking Mandarin as a language, don't let the negative reviews from intimidate you. They do not represent the truth.

Yells at students everyday for the smallest reasons (asking again to make sure of instructions on an assignment, messing up on "the counting") Definitely picks favorites and always humiliate students by saying they're "special students that need more help" when they get confused. Doesn't give clear instructions on assignments. If you already know mandarin, it's an easy A. But if you don't, major suggestion: DON'T TAKE IT

extreme favouritism. There was a girl who was just really nice to her, and she loved her. She basically bombed the final exam and probably barely passes, but she got a 99% overall and an award for Mandarin 9. She's ok as long as she likes you

Easy teacher but annoying when she yells at people. I think she has mental problem. Although she is really nice to me, her mandarin is still poor and the accent makes her sound weird.

Her teaching consists of making you memorize Mandarin for tests. As a result, I didn't learn anything. She also rants about how everyone hates her. Maybe they wouldn't if she could actually teach.

Assigns students with trivial work. Cannot deal with troublemakers and instead bullies the more quiet students, openly insulting them. Definately should not be teaching.

i'll make this short and sweet: all i can say is ...., her "teaching" is basically her own opinion of you. if she likes you, good, if she doesnt , i suggest you drop the course

Think of her classroom as a dictatorship. She is arrogant and extremely proud of her mandarin abilities (although she should not be) and not open to new solutions and ideas. Totally biased, irrational
