I had Devaul for core French in grade 10. When you tell a fellow GCI student you have her for a teacher, their response is 'Good luck!' (not a good reputation around the school). I found her a lot easier than French immersion kids said she'd be, and she can be a very friendly, funny lady. Things I didn't like were how work and lesson were DIRECTLY out of the textbook, and if you need clarification on something she makes you feel bad for 'not listening' to her. She's good for core, not immersion.
Mme Devaul was difficult teacher. It was nice that she didn't pick favorites, but she didn't explain things very well even when asked for clarification, also she got in bad moods at times. She did however give retests on the smaller ones, which was nice.
She is a fair teacher who does not have favorites like some of the other immersion teachers. She is one of the most genuine teachers I have ever had. Definitely not fake....totally real person. A good representation of what a teacher should be.
Good person, bad teacher. When you talk to her about anything but school, she's actually a funny person. But she sucks at explaining the content and gives painfully long and boring projects. She's a fairly easy marker, so basically if you do exactly what she tells you to, you're garunteed a good mark.
I currently have Devaul for grade 9 french immersion geography. The class is extremely boring, her teaching techniques are terrible and confusing. She does not explain anything well and when you ask her to explain it again so you can fully comprehend the lesson she either says the exact same thing or tells you that you "should have payed more attention" while she was talking. I just want to smash my head against the desk hard enough that I black out. Sorry but I can't stand your class.
good teacher. if you follow the instructions
Ms Devaul is easily the worst teacher I have ever had! I had her for french immersion geography and she cannot speak the language at all. She gives awful notes and our class median was in the low 70s because she cannot teach the content in a way that the students can retain it. She should redo her entire lesson plan from scratch because nobody remembers what we learnt in that class. she reduce A+ students to high 70s because she is unable to keep the students attentions or teach in any good way
i like the way she teaches. she keeps us from getting zeros.
she is really nice once u know her but still scary at times...
can be sarcastic at times but is really cool once you get to know her
Mrs Devaul may seem intimidating or scary to people at first, but after a while I realized that she is actually quite nice. She was willing to explain things when I didn't understand, and there was not much work for grade 9 French besides studying for mini quizzes.
jimmy jones had no problem following the devaul approved method
she can be mean but she obviously has a good reason for it.i think shes pretty nice and it seems like you know alot about her by being in her classes.i learned alot from her!
shes okai, can be mean at times...lots of fun in class tho ^.^
mean, unhelpful, I loved french in Jr, High and then I hated in in HS because of her!
one of the best teachers you'll have she doesn't put up with immature brats, nor should she have to. consider yourself lucky to have her as a teacher
she is not a very good teacher...learn to be nice and somewhat cool..
An AMAZING teacher it was soo fun in her class she made learing fun and i never thought i would say that lol!
9ers think she can be a real witch- only cause it's required though. gr 10 was soooo much fun! go potlucks!! "stop!stop!" a lot more fun in gr. 10. she's nice.
Good teacher but had the unfortunate duty of teaching grade nine french
shes not the best french teacher.. but a nice person!
