Kimberley Independent SchoolEdit
When we first came to Kimberley, we looked at McKim & KIS. We based our decision to place our child at KIS on the teachers and admin staff we met. We knew we made the right choice when we met the Principal. Scott was so down to earth and engaged with our daughter immediately. All of the staff have been extremely welcoming. The best part of school life is that learning is not limited to a classroom with lots of outdoor and physical learning thrown in. Great school, great place.
KIS is a great option for education in a small community like Kimberley. The staff are super amazing! They work very hard as a cohesive team to provide hands-on educational programs. My kids have attended this school for years and have deeply benefitted from the small classes, outdoor learning, field trips, and community involvement. There are terrific clubs offered by teachers and the principal offering exposure to an array of activities.
Ageing facility and grounds. Poor leadership. This was a great school, needs new leadership to make it great again. Classes too small for proper socialization. Immature and inexperience is evident throughout this team.
the facility, though a little on the old side, is well maintained and full of fun and love. It is an inclusive school, with unique approach to education. If you are looking for something that is an amazing experience and helps to educate your children outside of a textbook, look no further. The playground is crazy awesome and the staff are phenomenal. they will go above and beyond to help each student thrive and succeed in all aspects of their time there.
We have had our kids at KIS for a few years and highly recommended this school. The staff and teachers are fantastic and Mr. Scott is an amazing teacher and principal! Some of the things we love about this school are
- Amazing Principal, Teachers, EAs, ECEs and office staff.
- Small class sizes.
- Flex Friday’s, skiing is the kids fav.
- Weekly Climbing or Swimming Lessons, and so many more activities.
- Academic learning
- Out Door Education
So many great things and people!!!
A great educational facility, where the focus is on the kids. As a local charity they do some great fundraising. It feels like a family walking into the building, everybody is so positive and caring. Would not want my kids anywhere else!
This is my second year working at KIS and I am very happy here. I have never worked in a more fun and supportive environment. The staff and administrators are amazing and I look forward to coming to work everyday to teach the wonderful children that attend this school. The families are very involved and our school is truly apart of the wonderful community where we live. With small class sizes and full time EA support I am able to provide individualized instruction to meet the needs of all!
my children happy to go to school every day, loved by staff, and embraced by peers. This is the village that is helping us raise our kids. From teaching inclusivity and listening skills, to shredding the slopes, to exploring measurement outside to doing laps at the pool, this school knows what it means to embrace the “whole child”. Multi-grade classrooms an
Personally, we love KIS. We've had our children there for several years and cannot say enough about the school, staff, and overall community there. Our children have grown in so many ways because of the individual attention they received in small classes. Also, I see on a daily basis how all the staff goes beyond the call of duty for the sake of the school's well-being. As a charity, yes they do require extra hands to pitch in, I don't view this as a handout and we're happy to help!
