Mr.Black is a fantastic teacher that really teaches you how to learn information.
A brilliant teacher. The only Science teacher in McMath who tells students to think and analyze the notes he gave in order to learn the materials instead of memorizing everything. Prepare his students well for university. Though he does rumble quite a bit.
From a student driven for marks alone, Black has changed my perspective on school and the standard of what a teacher should be. Black goes beyond the textbook (which he doesn't use) . His lessons are insightful, he prides himself in not just helping students with their end-objective and setting us up for a test but getting the message across in a way they can truly understand and apply. He prepares assessment in a way that students not only excel but can know material inside out.
Grade 11 currently studying Ken's Chemistry and Biology class. Ken is a very intelligent man, and makes a huge effort to help students understand the topic at hand. Although very thorough to the point of annoyance with his lectures, his in-depth description is very insightful for the listening pupil. Notes are hand made, easy to understand yet still recommends textbook use.
He is a great teacher. Everyone that says they have a hard time with him probably don't listen to him closely enough. He makes sure to emphasize on important points. The more time he spends on explaining something means the more important it is to understand it. Best science teacher i've had out of all my five years at mcmath.
He tends to ramble a bit during his lectures and goes off topic occasionally, but he's very knowledgeable and covers all the material that he puts on his tests.
hes an ok teacher. really strict, not there to help, notes are too long... but his examples are really good. tests are somewhat easy... but hes a hard marker.
hes the best teacher ever...he isnt very approachable but his examples help a lot and also a really funny guy!
ah, my man KennyB. He can scare the living bejesus out of you with his blank stares, but all in all, the guy knows his biology and teaches it well.
just listen and learn... he's a good teacher. At least he doesn't treat us like kids like some teachers do >.>
If you don't like the subject, don't take his class. He rekindled my love of science. I'm looking to continue in bio cos of him. He is very funny. Test are reasonable. Best teacher of the dept. (only good teacher) He actually values knowledge over marks, unlike other science teachers. Rational and fair.
Do not be fooled by the lazy eye. Identity early on which is the good eye and act accordingly. It's tricky at first, but eventually you will be able to recognize whether he is talking to you or not.
Oh if you get him, you're in for a hoot. He will go on for half the class, talking about subjects which are not only irrevelant, but also disturbing in every sense. All in all, a decent teacher.
he's a good teacher but a little long winded. But he's test are easier then what you'd expect, but you have to study
The things you talk about in Black's biology class: Computer harddrives: yup. Disney characters: yup. School dances: yup. Biology: 0.
Worst teacher I have ever had. He just talks and talks so you never get a chance to digest what he is saying. You have to learn everything on your own time
marks too hard, expects you to go FAR above and beyond what was ever taught in class if you even expect to pass the course, rambles on about useless anaologies the entire class
You learn a lot in his class and he really prepares you for university. Lots of lectures and notes
A great teacher and everything...but MAN does he talk too much...I feel guilty about how many times I've fallen asleep in class
really hard to understand and always repeats himself
He's quite talkative... but he's funni and nice ^-^ Mr.Black is COOL !
Talks a lot but topics are often interesting or funny, yet can go off- topic on some occasians
he is the best techer. he make class fun and i like showing up to class!
