Best math teacher I have had! Before, I hated going into math class because I couldn't understand a word of it -or should I say a number of it haha. Grade 10 math was the best year of math I have had. If you ask her for help she will definitely help you, don't be shy to ask. If I had to give a piece of advise it would be.. Pay attention in her class, ask for assistance and have organized notes!
I loved having Mrs. Oattes for a teacher, she really helped me to understand the hard concepts in grade 10 academic math. She is a really nice person and as long as you are nice and aren't rude she is very willing to help you figure out questions that give you difficulty(without straight out giving you the answer, of course).
She failed to provide me with any real assistance, the concepts were poorly explained and the notes/lectures were very stale. I didn't enjoy the class at all, overall she constantly seemed quite sour for whatever reason. Approachability was alright at first but became pointless quite quickly as each inquiry was practically pointless & answered nothing. Overall had a terrible time and bad lasting impression.
(Grade 9 Academic Math)
definitely knowledgable and i learned a lot from her classes. Not the most popular teacher, but well respected. Had a lot of fun playing on her hockey team :)
I found that she had good intentions. She seemed to have a way, that i believe unintentional, but discouraged me from asking for help. Other than that shes no
Would just write the lesson on the board, do a few examples, then assign work. I just can't work that way... sorry
She's always there to help, which is really cool for a math teacher. I really didn't like her teaching methods though, needs to be a little more clear.
When the teacher is confused, learning is even more confusing!
