Mainville is a pretty hard marker. I heard something around the lines that only like 1 student got an A for the first term.
Very arrogant and intimidating teacher. Worst learning experience ever!
Extremely hard marker. Only one test for marks per term. Kind of approachable. Too much information, not much review.
Definitely no am easy year with this teacher. The marks are hanging around the sixties amd seventies. You will have to suffer and actually try hard if you want to get good marks. Some evaluations you don't even get back and don't even know how you did. Always sick and on vacations and meetings. Rarely see her working at school.
Hardest marker ever! Definitely has favorites!
She marks you SO HARD! but you know it's for the better. BEST SINGER EVER!
Very nice woman, very knowledgable and intelligent, easy-going personality and really sweet (she can sing too!) but OMG, she marks so hard. She marks your essays with this mindset 5/5 for the 2 brilliant kids, 3/5 for everybody else :-). Literally, my entire History class was 2 people with almost 100% and EVERYBODY ELSE HOVERING FROM 65%-75%. Yeah. Your second term mark will make you cry but your final mark SHOULD go up if you work RLY hard.
Nice personality, funny and entertaining. Hardest marker i've had, dropped my academic average by 4%.
Mme Mainville is very intelligent and knowledgeable about the subjects she teaches. However, the "I'm right, you're wrong" attitude she often seems to have really takes away from that and maeks her seem kind of mean.
The History 12 course that she taught was one of my favorite classes ever! She had very engaging, helpful lectures and I never felt under-prepared for the tests.
I'm not sure I agree with the person below. While she is knowledgeable about the subjects she teaches, I found her tougher than most of my professors.
The shining star of McRoberts, Mme Mainville is the only teacher who I believe adequately prepared me for university. She's intelligent, friendly and absolutely engaging.. Some may say that she's a difficult marker, however it's absolutely worth it because she prepares you for what you'll need in the future. If you're going into Arts in Uni, take History 12, you absolutely must.
She's a nice person and all.. her marking is a little bit tough. If you don't do one assignment you FAIL the entire term, and the following terms you complete it. But when you get around wanting to do it she's cool about it and doesn't give you a hard time. She is really informative, and I love when she takes an entire class just to talk to us about life and cool historical facts.
Fabulous teacher.. For all those who complain against her, well I'm sorry that you have to work hard. I had her for Fral 12 and History 12 and she's brilliant in both.
Not a bad teacher, really. The only really annoying thing is that she thinks she knows everything!
Really nice teacher but marks a little unfairly but still very creative and helpful we dont do boring things and when you get an A you feel really good and she is good at preparing you :]
adore her! she's definitely not an easy grader, but it just makes you work hard... don't forget to name your baby daughter after me :)) i love her snowball-tests, hahah
I love Mme Mainville. She is the best! She is creative and very pedagogical in her approach.
Great History 12 teacher, never had her for French, marks a bit on the hard side, but when you get that A, makes you feel ontop of the freakin world.
She's an interesting teacher BUT she takes too long to mark and marks unfairly.
History is one of my favourite subjects, and Mme. Mainville keeps it that way =)
has gotten so much better since she came back!!! went from angry to nice! now one of my fav teachers. Still a very hard marker though
I adore Mme. She is an incredibly hard marker and it feels like it's impossible to receive an A from her. BUT! She's enjoyable to be around and so far I have learned a lot from her.I tend to agree that she does play favorites though..
Ms. Mainville is probablly the hardest french teacher I've ever had, if not, the hardest teacher in the school. With that said, she is actually not that bad of a teacher if urs willing to work hard. But for slackers...she is your WORST nightmare.
Mrs. Mainville is a rather lazy and forgetful teacher. There are instances where she has given tests on information to be covered, and gives bumbling drawn out defenses. She also jumps to conclusions and is quick to reduce marks(It's only half right, therefore 0!). Her notes are copy heavy, study time and useful help is limited, she has long, time-wasting talks and assignments w/ obscure criteria.
Miss Mainville takes out her problems on kids in her class, because she doesn't have anyone to take them out on at home. :)
Hated her whenever I had her for french, but once I had her for History 12 I loved her! She's the hardest marker ever, but if you want a passionate teacher she's the one.
Nice person, but hardest marker I've ever, ever met. Teaches well though, I guess.
AVOID HISTORY 12!!! If you enjoy history it is much more rewarding to learn it on your own time. Out of 60 students perhaps two will recieve an A. AVOID!!!!!!!!
I think she's okay. Didn't really like her classes all that much because it was pretty routine. Explinations were vague. A bit Hard to communicate with.
Kind of OK, but please try to remember, just because I am a student doesn't mean I am not a human being.
YOU ROCK MAINVILLE! ...but woulddn't it be an honor to correct my concour?&#
such a sweetie! not even in her class anymore but she loves me!
