He is one the best chemistry teacher I had him both Nya and Nyb he is really nice teacher if you show him that you’re studying and really helpful. His tests and quizzes are exactly same what he teaches in the class I didn’t use text book at all and I didn’t need it because he gives examples in the class and his test and quizzes are based on that..I would recommend him because everyone finds him hard so the class average is very low but if you study a bit you will be fine 😊
When I read the reviews and got him as a teacher, I was really glad to have him. As the semester went on though I got more and more disappointed. His quizzes are made to trick you and some people found that his tests were worded weirdly. He's a nice man and tries to be funny (which is cool) but I wouldn't say he's the best chemistry teacher. NEEDS TO WORK ON HIS HANDWRITING!!!
At first, he seems very intimidating, but once you get to know him, he is a sweet heart. Has office hours every single day, and wants to help you succeed. Study for his class and you will do well. Don't study, and you will do terrible on his weekly quizzes. Textbook really helps, but his notes are clear enough. He does go super fast in class so make sure you pay attention. Would definitely recommend.
THIS TEACHER IS AMAZING!!! At first I really didn't liked him and found him intimidating, is a REALLY smart man and so passionate about chemistry, DON'T DROP HIS COURSE. Go to office hours , ask him questions and you'll pass he's really EASY !!! Took him for General Chem NYA, at first I failed all his quizzes (2/10,3/10...) but when I started only to study ONLYthe notes et redoing the questions did I class I started to get really good marks (7/10, 8/10..). I began with a 25% finished with a 70%.
He is a really good teacher. He know ow to teach. Very funny person as well. What he teaches in class, the examples , the exercises he gives is what comes in the exam. He is not a hard grader. Quizzes are easy, but you have study of course. I would retake him if I can.
Knows his stuff. likes to brag and rant a lot. His tests in General Chem had questions he never covered in class, however exam at the end was really easy. He is really passionate about chemistry if the class average is low at the end of the year he will give everyone an extra 1-4% depending on how much they need to pass
Goes super fast in class, it's just the way he talks. Doesn't mean you can't do super well in his class. You can, I know plenty of people who has amazing grades with him. The important thing to know is you have to study for his quizzes from his DARN NOTES, no one seems to understand, STUDY HIS DAMN NOTES, he repeats that phrase a million times and I swear, if you study his notes you'll do well. Studying his notes means reading them over and over, doing the examples, going to office hours!
He's a great teacher. His notes are ,for the most part, clear and concise. He explains quickly, but well. His tests are similar to his in-class quizzes and his textbook practice problems.
He speaks and explains very quickly so make sure you're paying attention. His tests are very straight forward and if you take good notes and practice his textbook questions you'll definitely pass. Take his quizzes seriously and study for them, the marks add up. Prepares you well for the exam. He speaks very loudly and yells at students who ask questions he considers stupid. Be prepared for the labs because he also gets mad when you don't know what you're doing. Take him, you won't regret it.
I actually hated this teacher at the beginning, but he's actually really good and loves what he does. He talks fast, but you can get amazing grades just by going over the notes and doing the exercises. He's very easygoing about the labs though, and his tests and quizzes are easy and straightforward. He won't explain anything to you in class if you have a question due to lack of time, but outside of class, he's incredibly helpful. I ended up loving his class, and I would take him again anytime.
Can be very condescending in class. Skims over things very quickly and expects you to understand. Though if you take down all your notes study them well and read your manual you can still do well. Isn't very strict for lab reports which is nice.
I am the type of student who needs good notes in order to understand the material and if you are like me, I don't suggest you take this teacher. He is all over the place and expects you to understand whatever he says.
Great teacher, I had him for General Chem. His notes aren't very clear, but his tests are a lot like the quizzes and textbook problems and the tests are not hard. If you are willing to put in some work and actually study, you should do fine. Plus, his in-office hours really help! I would take him again
If you put the hard work in, he will see it. This class isn't a class where you can just coast through- or else you'll be stuck all the way until the end being really nervous and having to work extra hard. Learn the concepts at your own pace from the beginning.
This teacher is great since he is open-minded in the way that he realizes effort, as well as if you actually understand his course.
Take this teacher- you will learn more than chemistry.
He's really a nice man but he talks so fast that sometimes you don't have the time to process what he said and you don't understand anything. He sometimes takes off lots of marks for stupid mistakes. His class notes are brief, I suggest you read the book beside the notes. His test are easy, they are very similar to quizzes and class notes. The final was exactly the same as previous test with some slight changes. You need to work for this class. Recommended!
To compare him with other chem. teachers, his tests are to the point and straightforward and based mostly on class notes (so take good notes). His bad side is that if someone make easy mistakes, he takes a lot of marks off. Tip, be careful of accidental mistakes! But it's possible, with his help, to succeed...
Such a funny guy, but his notes are really unorganized. If you read from the book, you'll understand a lot better and you'll ace his tests because they're SO easy! He's only unorganized in the classroom so if you go to ask him a question outside of class, he explains it clearly. Get the textbook and read it before lectures and you'll do really well
He is nice ,but he is such a HORRIBLE TEACHER. Expect us to know everything , doesn't give any homework to practice ....
Avoid that guy...
Horrible teacher, he talks way too fast and expects you to know everything, hes a chill guy tho but doesnt know how to teach, please avoid him
Even though he talks fast, he explains stuff well. Just do a bit of work and you'll A's his class easily. Easily approachable, and very helpful. People who failed are the ones who don't study.
Talks very fast, funny and understanding but failed the class, maybe because science is not my subject. Overall I did not like him.
i had his for chem nya and he was absolutely the best teacher ever. his lectures are always clear and if u listen in class and do a little studying then you will do fine
Liberal Arts: Despite that his class was absolutely useless, I actually liked him. Topics are hard, but he explains more clearly in his office. Very nice and not hard at all with marking. Go chickens!
Everyone says it, he's sorta loud,.. But he's a very nice individual, he's very friendly, and he CARES if you UNDERSTAND. So understand the subject, and you'll do fine.
this teacher is amazing,, hes too funny.. and if you dont understand.. he'll wait until you understand...although he talks very fast.
Very good teacher.... But he talks very fast... He explains until everyone understands... And even if u ask him to talk slower... he wont... i tried...
Yes, he has a loud voice... but that just makes it drill in a little more. He explain thoroughly. I am definitely not what one would consider a `Science Person`, let alone a science lover, but I still managed over 80% in his class. He`s a good teacher and wants you to understand. Also, lots of examples in class and his exams are NOT that hard if you ACTUALLY STUDY!!! (Which many people in CEGEP fail to do these days...)
Best Chemistry teacher I've ever had. He has a loud voice so that even if others are talking you only hear him. He really tried to make everyone understand. His exams are just a lil' tricky sometimes, watch out for that.
His very nice, if your good in chemistry take him. But if not.. his test are very very long and hard......
i am a chemistry person and i would advice anyone who has thoughts of taking him to reconsider their decision..bcuz i found him to be the most hardest teacher ever! and his exams are very i repeat VERY HARD N TRICKY!!!!!so good luck to all who end up with him...
Teachers way too fast! Very unclear and tends to go off topic often. If you need explinations, do not take him! Very loud voice and puts in every last minute of EVERY class. NEVER cancels either! Don't fall behind...!
talks tooo fast , sooo loud, hard to keep up with him. If u take him, just dont fall behind. If ur able to choose sumone else. for ur own benefit, plz do so, sum things on the test make u wonder if he ever thaught u it.
Great guy, really wants everyone to succeed. This class was a pleasure to go to. Only thing is he can sometimes be confusing. He talks alittle too fast and does not explain things in the simplest possible way. Everyone gets a decent grade unless you really put no effort. Attend classes and you'll do well. Recommended.
Nice guy, funny. But his tests have nothing to do with the homework almost!
This teacher is great. Very straight forward and clear in his material. Answers your questions very clearly also.
He is a very nice man, he will help you if you don't understand and wants u to pass.
He will explain over and over again if you don't understand. He is very nice, doesn't want to fail you. His tests are easy if you practice your stuff.
Mr.Tromp is a great chemestry teacher. He is very clear when he teaches and he always gives his 100% when it comes to his students.
really nice guy, loud-talker and very helpful. He will answer questions and explain as much as you need to understand. Just ask to clarify if he's too fast.
AMAZING TEACHER!!! If you have the oppurtunity to have this teacher, take him. Explains stuff pretty fast but just take notes + study and your good.
He's a great guy and he doesn't make you keep the final exam. His class is easy, if u pay attention, stay awake and do the work.
Great teacher who wants everyone to pass. Go to his classes and take the practice tests and you'll do well.
Not a bad teacher, but stabs on my bad. So no respect for him at all.
His lectures r boring. Easy test if u study. Tutorial not helpful if u dun do ur hw. 2 understand chem, read ur book;his notes r onli to keep u in track...
Great general chem 1 teacher. For once, I see myself getting 90s in chem. Great stuff Trompmister!!!
SUPER NICE TEACHER! He does everything to make you have a greater marks, a bit disorganized but very very nice teacher. Recommended!
he raised the avg. on one of our tests by 16%...thats how hard this class is. Oh, and dont expect any help from his tutorials
the best chemistry teacher i have ever had. Cares alot about student.simply the best
His lectures can get a little boring sometimes but, he's a really great guy and he'll do anything to help. He actually wants students to do well. Awesome person
awesome teacher, loud voice will kepp you awake in class, always tries to make sure everyone understands. Overall he's great
The best male science teacher I ever had. Wants to make sure you know what's going on and will do his best to help
very good teacher, knows what he's teaching, doesn't dislike any students, but tends to like certain ones more than others, likes to say so we realise that...
a teacher who really cares. boring, but he is always there for help
Amazing teacher...lectures are boring but he's a cool guy. His tests are easy.
Excellent teacher, gives 100% of himself in his lectures. Really cares.
