An amazing mentor, and a great person. His knowledge of music and respect for the catholic is exceptional
Fantastic teacher and brilliant man. A shame he was fired by admin instead of them focusing on getting rid of actually useless teachers. Only the 2nd great teacher the Choir School has lost in 2016...
A hard marker (choral), but the absolute best conductor on the faculty. If you are a complete idiot, of course he will yell at you. Expect that. But it is because he is a professional. He is able to shape pieces unlike any other. His downbeats are not too clear if you are singing under him for the first time, but you will quickly get the hang of him. If you are bright, expect to learn everything. Build a good relationship with him.
Doc is by far the most experienced, knowledgeable, and effective teacher of all music department staff.
Doc is the only person at the choir school is amazing at what he does. Not to discredit the other teachers, but Doc is truly passionate about what he does. His teaching style may be a little different, but he will get the job done. Doc outranks all other teachers in his skill and ability to get sound out of students. I really miss him on Saturdays, maybe the director could put him back. A note to all red-shirts, Doc will keep you in late. Get used to it. That's how you learn.
Great guy, don't be stupid around him. That's all
He knows his stuff. "What was that? An excuse?"
Don't piss of Doc, and he won't piss off you. It's as simple as that. Once you get past the fact that he will get angry a lot at annoying students (understandingly), he is a pretty cool guy and he's very friendly when not teaching.
Doc is the best Choral teacher at SMCS by far. He's intimidating but once you get to know him he's very nice. When you first get to Senior Choir, expect to go overtime a lot. Besides that Doc is good. 6/6
Simply the best conductor at SMCS. Extremely passionate about music, knowledgeable in even the most obscure of musical fields, and an awesome personality to boot. The only issues you'll have with him occur because of misbehaviour; don't screw around in his classes and you'll get an incredible experience. Can't recommend him enough.
An intimidating teacher, but at heart really just a man truly passionate about music. You gotta respect the effort he is putting in for this and in turn put in your effort to see what caliber of music you can create. Do ask questions, don't get distracted.
He might throw a chair at you, you have to be alert at all times in his class. And DON'T PHONE IT IN!
BEST TEACHER EVER! Will do what it takes to get the job done. Listen to him because you will learn more from him than you will in your life. He is a wise man...
Very good teacher!! Is very informative and has very interesting choral periods!! But just sit back and don't get him mad. He might have a slight anger problem.
He's the best teach eva
He is an amazing teacher very passionate about music
If you know what you're doing and don't misbehave (UNIFORMS) then you'll get an amazing experience.
If you piss him off expect the wrath of Hell upon you.
Awesome teacher. He knows what he wants, but he doesn't take the easiest paths to get it.
I loved the fits of rage because they were never aimed at me... here comes the hymn book! Smart, passionate man, maybe a bit uptight for goofy teens. Effective teacher - better than most.
calm down and get some anger management....no one is as great as you think you are
Cool dude! Better than Rae! Should watch his anger problems and definitely STOP calling me Pepe!!! Is NOT FUNNY AT ALL!!
this guy's great to high school and calm and cool once u get to know him, but having him as an elementary student kept me too scared to think
Very good musician. Needs to tone down his tantrums and will probably get the respect he definitely deserves.
Definitely unorthodox, but gets the job done and gets respect as well as excellent results
BEST musical teacher in the school...should take over RAE's position anyday..he gets stuff DONE by pushing the students ..can get tiring at times =P
