She's a good teacher, but her expectations are quite high. She isn't ridiculously hard, but you do need to put effort into her class.
The gifted class average is 70, the regular - 65. Unless you are really good at oral presentations, say goodbye to your 80. Marks based on personal preference, where writing a "the" instead of "that" is considered a grammar mistake, and you get marks taken off for not revealing enough personal information. That said, she is a nice person and all, but her marking is stuck in the 1980s, where an 80 percent was in fact above expectations.
Overall a hard marker, but I believe that she marks hard because she wants the students in the class to do well and above expectations. She's an overall nice person and very friendly and helpful.
Before you step in to class, let go of any pride you might have. Ms. Moffat is a good teacher if you make her work for you. The more you participate, the better you look. Ask questions and READ her comments. They will help you figure out what SHE wants to read. Very logical and by the book teacher. She will review all the exam material before the exam. Another thing is that she is a feminist. Try not to go against that ideology unless you have good research and a convincing argument.
You absolutely need to get on her good side at the beginning of the year or else you can kiss an 80 or above goodbye. Very hard marker. I've never gotten anything lower than an 80 in any of my previous English courses except for hers. The kids that barely try get a better mark than those who spend hours doing her assignments. She's nice but has favourites.
She was an okay teacher for dance. I actually feel bad for her because everyone hates her but she's really not that bad. I liked that she invited guest teachers to teach the class and they were professionals. She's pretty nice and loves to smile.
I've barely gone through half the course, and I can tell she's not that great. She's extremely devoted, which is nice, but is a bit scatter-brained, and definitely shows favoritism, to the wrong students. I've seen her act extremely nice to some students, then become apathetic in a few seconds. Her marking style is messed up, as she marks people down for the most trivial reasons. (I.E. not "deep" enough")
She isn't a great teacher. She makes dance an English class and English a drama class. Doesn't teach much dance and is awful at cheorographing. She needs to not teach it. She picks favorites and outs those who try yet hates them. She thinks shes smart and marks others harder than others. People that don't try get better marks than people who do.
Thought it was supposed to be DANCE, not ENGLISH. One day every week we had THEORY DAYS that we had to write reflections or dance reviews. AT least a THIRD of the class is REVIEWS/REFLECTIONS.
waaaay too perky seems not to notice that everyone is bored out of their skulls honestly its hard to stay awake in her class marks easy
shes too happy when assigning and acts like everyone cares about the theme or plot of some story
She's pretty cool, but I hate how we're only doing short stories in class. I want to do novels.
drama .....shes okay... but makes us do stupid stuff!!!!
She picks favourites and somehow, they're all guys. She is too picky with your work and never marks stuff on time. She gives us unreasonable projects sometimes.
Pretty good teacher, but shows waaayy to much favouritizem
Really nice teacher. Clearly enjoyed English. Relatively easy marker. First English course I ever enjoyed.
