I didn't even have him as a teacher when I went to Garibaldi but he was nice to everyone regardless whether you were in his class or not. He always had kind things to say and was an overall great guy to have in the school.
Mr H was a great man. He was my first best friend when I came to Canada. He was a gentle kind guy. Always had a smile on his face and was always very helpful to anyone who needed it. He was more than a teacher, he was a mentor and a friend to all students. He was and always will be one of the greatest men I had the privellage of getting to know and share my life with.
Mr. Hausknecht gave 30 years of his heart to Garibaldi Secondary. Countless hours in volunteer time dedicated to school dances, student government, grade 8 welcoming activities, provincial exam prep. He would stay and chat in his room to anyone who cared to drop by and he remembered the names and stories of decades of students. He was quirky, intelligent, laid back, flexible; Hr. H. had a great sense of humour and a heart of gold. I will never forget him.
One of the very best! Will always remember him as a teacher that cared and really got it. He wanted all students to succeed and made it easy for us to do so. I don't remember many teaches from my school days because it was a life time ago but everyone remembers Mr Hausknecht.
Definitely cares about students! Willing to go the extra mile to help those in need. A teacher who is remembered always by past students and he remembers them! A class act
Cares about the school, about his students. Students remember him for years. He puts his heart and soul into Garibaldi. His classes are fun to be in.
Not funnier than Mr Stephen, but very kind and soft-hearted, for sure.
