This is Shelly-Ann Jackson. I always hear people talk about teachers that impacted their lives and change them forever and I never thought I would have one of those but I do, its Mr. Gordon Blackman. I took English and Black History with him. He would not allow me to skip class, to slack off in class, to settle for less than I can do.. he was hard but he was right.. wherever you are Mr. B, I thank you.

I graduated John Rennie HS in 1976. . . That's 36 years ago and I still remember Mr. Blackman as the single teacher who made the biggest difference in my life. Period.

Best teacher I have ever had! I graduated 26 years ago and I can still vividly remember his classes! Although He was very strict I enjoyed his class very much!

Mr Blackman has to be one of the best English teachers Montreal has ever had, he was hard has hell but at least you left his class having learnt something.

Mr. Blackman was my English teacher in grade nine 93 and again in grade eleven 95 without a doubt he was the best teacher I ever had. If only everyone cared like he did. Thank you sir. Kris Aiken clas

Mr. Blackman was the best teacher I ever had. He was my Grade 11 English teacher in the 86/87 school year. His work was hard, he commanded respect and he made damned sure that you turned in the best

Like everybody who had him, you feared,respected, and hated him at the time, but now I think back and he was the best teacher I ever had. If it was not for him I would not have passed english. thanks

he is the best teacher, he pushed us the hardest and demanded the most from us. I graduated from Rennie in 97' and he is still the greatest teacher I ever.

The absolute hardest teacher that I've ever had....hated him all year long but got to cegep and was able to appreciate what he taught. Retired about 5 times!!
