Graduated in 1996 from IB English. Best English experience of my life (before university)! Mr. Aitkens and Mr. Moody were the best English teachers. They truly truly help me fall in love with English & literature & philosophy. Highly recommend.

The greatest english teacher I have ever had the pleasure of learning from. Perhaps the only true english teacher as well; a man who lives and breathes in books and, while disorganized and often scattered, has a knowledge of the content he teaches far above any others. His teaching philosophy is to truly understand what he is teaching, something quire rare.
You get what you put in, if you didn't gain learning or pleasure in his class, it is no one's fault but your own.

Mr. Aitkens was one of those teachers you read about in novels. Over the top energy, weird, passionate, accommodating, and very well-versed.

One of the best English teachers I've ever had. Mr. Aitkens is a genius, and love spreading his knowledge with his students. Although he is a bit scattered and unorganised, it fits his character perfectly. I would take his class again.

He was a......different teacher. He went off topic quite often and forgot about handing back tests. (He is very unorganized if you just look around the classroom.) He was also kind of random, he made some people act like gorillas in my class. Then again, he really does know his subject, did not handout much homework and the exam wasn't very hard.

Good ol' George. I personally learned to love his class, though I suppose his teaching style isn't for everyone. He's.. eccentric, but I thought that just made his class more enjoyable. He really knows his stuff, but his writing really is hard to read, quite disorganized (just look at his classroom..) and he can get a little (or a lot) off topic. He's not hard to talk to talk to, although that might not be your first impression. Honestly, thanks to his class, I now enjoy English literature.

This guy is super intelligent but potentially the most unorganized person I have ever come across in my entire life. His marking system makes zero sense and he often forgets about assignments he assigns weeks in advance. ALSO as helpful as teachers comments on essays and commentarys can be, his writing is illegibal. I challenge anyone to sucessfully read his writing!

I didn't learn anything in his class. We hardly wrote essays, no one took him seriously, HE didn't take the assignments seriously and the books were awful. intelligent though.

Very intelligent man! But really disorganized and forgetful but he makes English fun and actually takes us to plays. We are constantly moving the desks around, and when we are below its quite annoying

I graduated 4 years ago, but I still have very fond memories of Aitkens...he's one of the only teachers I've ever had who made a big impact in my life. If you think he picks on you in a bad way, there's probably a reason for it, so stop reading Archie comics in class.

He is an absolute genius! A bit absent-minded and certainly disorganized, but his students love him for it. Any teacher who can recite Chaucer while talking of Old and Middle English is amazing!
