Ms. Kauffman taught me so much and totally prepared me for University! I'm grateful that I took her physics classes.
I had Ms. Kauffman for Pre-AP Science in Grade 9. She covered the course material quite well, but it seemed as her main objective in our class is teaching us about scientific literacy, which isn't all bad. It just meant that we didn't have the opportunity to go over several concepts that other teachers were teaching. Prepare to take lots of notes in her class, for they will be essential for her tests and exam. As a person, she is very nice and friendly. Overall, she's a mixed bag.
Doesn't know how to explain things properly and when she has absolutely no clue she will literally put up a video of another person teaching the subject. You will have a dreadful time trying to learn because she usually has no clue what she's talking about. She uses the Remind Me app and Edmodo and sometimes she will send you homework after you have gone home during the weekend. She once sent an assignment due 10:00pm sunday at 2pm sunday. If you actually want to learn, find another class.
she is great, don't listen to what others say
Teaches by examples, if you can't make your own notes from her lessons you'll have difficulty. If you ask for help she'll help and wants you to do well. Gives lots of opportunities to get marks so it's not hard to maintain your mark. Tests based heavily on class work, so pay attention and write everything down. She doesn't do board notes so wrote out examples and add your own notes, you'll do fine. Really nice person and really knowledgeable.
People hate on Ms. Kauffman for being "unclear" but I think it's just the physics material itself that's hard to understand. She moves quickly during class and expects everyone to understand it, but you can't blame her if no one asks her to slow down. If you tell her you don't understand she will re-explain it to you in different ways, so just don't be shy. Her tests are based exactly on what you do in class, so pay attention and write down the examples. The problem sets are really helpful too!
She is one of the best teachers I have ever had. She teaches well and really wants her students to succeed.
She covers a lot of material at once and then clarifies it. Not the most prefferable way of learning but you eventually learn to adapt. Her examples are just awesome, even if she does hypothetically k
Always made cookies and stuff for us, but she was kind of a bad teacher. Really nice, but she needs to improve her skills.
Always used really fun examples. Fun class. Not that great at explaining, but you get used to her way of teaching after a while. AND SHE BAKES YOU COOKIES & MUFFINS. :D
fun class, fun teacher bad teaching approach.she told the class that i splash around in the bathtub and find the frequency of the waves.... how she know? lol
she let me do my own thing as long as i kept my mark above 90. good times
U no theres something wrong when a grade 9 is correcting u.. over and over.. u might as well read the textbook and skip . She called my home cuz i got a 76! ugh
Pretty good...but for the love of God, woman! Get your act together! You know something's wrong with the way you teach when your niners are correcting you.
You would understand better when you read the textbook after each lesson. She has a good sense of time management!
everything but the groupwork is great. You'll KNOW your physics theory after having her.
