i walked into her class thinking omg why do we have to learn english? i dont know what changed me but by the end of the year, i fell in love with english and writing.
She's really nice and really mean. She can really knock you over sometimes with a plethora of surprise writing assignments, but she has a heart of gold. She expects a lot from you, but it IS achievable if you prep for english class everynight with or without homework...
shes amazing, shes a hard teacher and expects a lot out of her students, but nothing that you shouldnt be able to achieve with effort - listen to her advice; she's really intimidating at the beginning of the course, but is actually really caring and helpful, one of my favourite english teachers of all time
She is probably one of the hardest markers in my student career prior to university, but don't let that scare you or make you want to have another teacher. She's one of those enthusiastic teachers who are a little stricter in terms of "technical" stuff and "idea" stuff. She really does help you improve. In order to do well in her class, just take heed to her suggestions and be respectful. She really is a fun teacher! Go in with this attitude: "She's a fun teacher, but she's also here to teach,"
BEST ENGLISH TEACHER EVERY. After taking her class I am pround to say that I have falling in love with English
I have had both her and her husband for English (loonnnngggg time ago) and she really brought the subject to life. She may be tough, but in hindsight, her classes gave me the reality check I needed early on. She (and her husband) were two of the most caring teachers I have ever had.
Absolutely amazing. People say she's a hard marker only because they're not doing well in her class. Incredibly nice and supportive, and genuinely cares about her students and is one of the teachers who understands that life happens. I love her lectures because she's able to connect literature to real life. She's absolutely amazing.
Fear and terror. That is just about the only way to describe McDonald. You will leam, that much is guaranteed, but you will also suffer. Pay her respect, don't come in late or insult her or you will never see a mark higher than a 60 ever again. If you want a good mark, disregard what the rest of the people on here say, debate her. 90% of the time she will crush you, but as long as you have some decent points and do it respectfully your mark will subtly increase each time.
An amazing teacher, but is a very hard marker. You will learn more than in any other english teacher's course. If you have her for english 10 or 20, don't switch out unless you are in danger of not passing the course. You would be missing out on an enormous learning experience. As for english 30, she prepares you well for the diploma, so expect high marks on that, but don't expect good in class marks.
I was in Mr. Donalson's last class he taught before he retired and I found him to a good teacher. He gave us all the mounts of papers we need. Note for the ones of u who wanted to learn programing u should have taken 201 as that is the real start for programing.
Yes, she's strict. Yes, she's a little harsh. But seriously, if you try, and SHOW you're trying, she cuts you slack. (and really, that's all any teacher wants, is to see a student trying) I enjoyed her classes so much, and I ended up crying when the classes ended, I've only had her once, in grade 10, but that was my most favorite class of my whole high school career. I've never had so much fun.
Class was boring, and the material he covered was either too easy or brutally hard later on. But, he was very accommodating, was an easy marker and even gave us open book quizzes, and his material will help a lot if you plan on taking computer science in university. Not the best teacher, but certainly not the worst I've ever had. Word of caution: don't put your feet on the chairs in his lab or swear while he's close by - he will flip out at you. And try to ignore the chest hair that sticks out of his shirt.
I DID NOT learn anything in his class at all because he doesnt teach and the textbook was kinda bad.
Switch before it's too late..... You will fail if you are an average reader/writer. You have to be like a book writer to succeed in her class. You do learn in her class though.
Easiest class of my life. Everyone cheats on the homework, there is or at least was a folder on the z-drive with all the assignments done. He doesn't teach, and curves the marks up.
Best teacher ever, her classes were funny and she knew what she was doing, If you get her, don't switch.
She's so good! She knows what she's talking about, even though she's hard, she can help you improve. It's just honesty! Don't get mad, it's just that you need to improve!
There is no harder teacher. It is ridiculous. She does not know how to mark and expects way too much. If you get her, switch!
She is an excellent teacher, she definately knows her subject and she knows how to teach it well. Some may find her class to be hard, but it is never boring. She makes sure you understand a concept or story before moving on and is very enthusiastic. I would say she is the best english teacher I have ever and will ever have.
Doesn't really teach. Just dont talk during class, walk in front of the projector etc and you will get along with him fine. HW comes from webpage or book so pretty easy, and its peer marking so jusst make some friends and you should be able 2 pull off a 90+ easily
Mr Donaldson is the worst teacher on the face of this planet. Not only does he not know how to teach, but he doesn't know anything about java himself. All he does is tell his students to goto this tutorial webpage, and he reads off of it. At higher levels, you just learn from the textbook (which also doesn't make sense) since he doesn't understand any of the concepts well enough to be able to help you. His voice is annoying too and he laughs hysterically at his own jokes, which no on else laughs at.
Good and helpful, however rules over music are archaic. Likes lighten the mood with jokes.
Dont get me started. Just lousy. His entire Comp Science 101 course (and probably a lot of the more advanced ones) could be self taught at home in 2 weeks.
Easy teacher, everyone cheats on HW. Half the class doesn't pay attention when he talks.
really nice..but i didn't learn a thing. Everyone cheats on HW..uhh..that's all I've experienced...
He's a good teacher, although he's too pushy on headphones... Testing is quite weird
I had him for CALM. Very imprecise and too frequently changed the rules in the middle of the game.
His teaching skills may not have been the best, but for every student there is a few teachers who have been a big influence. For me it one of 'em was Donaldson!
A fairly easy teacher. Gives hard tests/quizzes, but curbs marks up 15-20%. I got %56 on one quiz. It was curbed up to 75% :)
Thanks to this teacher I was able to get have "spares" in full ib. Haha. =)
OK, if he starts talking about getting sugar from your neighbour, RUN!!!! If you're looking to learn programming, look elsewhere. Pretty useless, but easy.
