Great guy! He actually teaches the gifted class something! Plus, he explains the more difficult concepts in a way that is easy to understand if you are struggling. It's pretty simple. If you're not rude to him, he's kind back.
I had him in Math in grade 7, this was some 20+ years ago, and although I wasn't a great student he worked hard with me, and yes often punished me for not doing my homework. He worked hard, and he expected his students to work hard as well. Not sure if he still makes students work through their lunches doing extra math questions, but at one point I was having to do over several hundred questions over the course of several lunches. I learned... eventually He's a great teacher, he's no pushover!
He's really (read: unnecessarily) strict. He tries to teach you math in every subject, but just repeats obvious things like "a fraction is a division and a division is a fraction". He's just saving up to see some magician.
The kids in my class hate him, I'm not gonna lie. But I really respect him and I feel like he respects me. I messed up a few times and unlike what I have heard, he would show me what I did wrong and simply tell me to not do that next time. He's funny but sometimes he expects a bit much from us. At the end of the day, you may feel that he was strict, but YOU LEARNED SOMETHING and that, to me, matters. He shows us cool magic tricks and I would say that I wish he was my teacher through more grades.
He actually teaches you important things. He's not as nice as the other teachers but he's a good one.
the man! made grade 9 math a breeze! keep up with being strict n detentions!! that's what these kids need nowadays!
Very strict but fair. Makes the kids work hard. We need more teachers like him.
really strict with detentions and rules but he REALLY knows his stuff and teaches you really good tricks which make all the work twice as fast.. again over the top with detentions though
I don't get why everythone thinks he's the best! I don't remember anything he's taught me, and I had him for TAP 2003-2004.
Unfair!! He puts you onthe log if you forget to sign a test. Scares the daylights out of his students...but the stuff he teaches isn't forgotten.
I learned so much math from him and it all stuck but guess what? ITS ALL WRONG! Stop using 60's texbooks and teach some modern math! Thanks for nothing!
Mr Lachaine was such a good math teacher. I wish he would come teach me math again. He may be hard but what you learn sticks in your head and it helps!
best math teacher u could ever have. grade nine was a breeze after what he had taught us: grade 7 with M. Lachaine was harder. THANKS!!!!!
BEST MATH TEACHER EVER you gave me the ebst 2 years of my life
Strikes fear into all his math students' hearts, good teacher though. Has a sense of humour at times ("It's like a carnival game!" Ptoing!")
