I had Ms. Filip in grade 9, and then again in grade 12 for Physics. I loved her in grade 9 -- her explanations were great and my notes were very clear. Because of her, I was inspired to continue with my science education throughout high school. I loved her approach at teaching; she's very realistic and doesn't give pity marks -- which really prepares you for university.
Very confusing and hard in the beginning but by the end of the semester you understand the whole picture, ideas and knowledge of physics. Really appreciate how she taught it because it allowed us to rediscover and actually understand the formulas.
Ms. Filip teaches well but she could be strict sometimes especially when taking up homework or after a test.
All the units were pretty well taught but Physics. Ironically, I was most lost in the Physics units perhaps it was my own weakness in the subject but, she seemed most knowledgeable in Physics and had the most complicated explanations in the subject compared to her Chemistry explanations. However the tests were like 5 times harder than the exam. The exam was VERY easy if you studied like you would for one of her tests but for 4 units instead of one.
A very competant teacher. She knows her stuff and will try to help you. She gives her expectations in advance so the test will not be a surprise. She also tries to have students try out the harder problems before teaching how to do them. A little fast in the teaching, but at least you learn!
Very knowledgeable, but if you don't understand things the way she explains them (often too fast and using knowledge students don't have), then you should try to learn on your own. But she will answer your questions and try to help you if you ask.
i had her this semester and can't say she's the best. she isn't THAT bad either though. she teaches too fast sometimes and spends too much time on one unit and than rushes through the next unit since there's no time. she can be helpful if you want help from her. she knows everything, but she can't teach too well. she's too fast in teaching. students have to be able to learn everything themselves if they want a good mark. also a slow marker.
i think ms.filip cares. i am not getting a high mark, but it's bc i don't do my work. that's life - u do ur work, u get good marks. u don't do ur work, u don't get good marks. ms. filip taught me that i have to take responsibility of myself,
really unhelpful like what the others said really smart person but can't really teach. Gets impatient easily
Teaches really well, lots of explanation's etc. Doesn't like talking, goofing around etc. though. I liked her.
She uses a lot of analogies, sometimes really confusing.
Interesting classes, although sometimes goes too quickly while doing exercises. Do your homework and you will have a good mark!
i was so mad in grade 9 cause she's afraid of fire. So when Mr. Cheung's class was behind us laughing anddoing awesome experiments, we were playin around with water. -_-
She talks to us like we are dumb. But in the way she explains things, it's hard to understand. But she is nice sometimes but gets mad easily.
Unclear about some topics and picky about how you solve your problems. She's willing you spend some extra time with you if you need it, but don't expect to be sympathized with .
She cannot really teach that well. She tries to be funny it is not that funny in the end. Says she will take up questions but hardly ever ends up taking them up.
She's a pretty unfair marker, and needs to keep her personal issues with students separate from the way she marks.
She's a Great teacher.. clear and have clear explaination most of the time. Gr12 physic made clear.
She was nice, but can be unclear at time, so you should/must read the textbook..like the whole thing!
Ms. Filip is so young at heart, well actually she is young. she is also funny, and really nice....but i dont like the way she teaches...and PHYSICS IS VERY HARD
good teacher, explains stuff well and makes sure everyone understands
The best science teacher I've had, very friendly and helpful.
miss filip is the best science teacher and she's soo nice and very cool.
The course is difficult, and showed me that I have much more to learn.
Really nice and has a GREAT sense of humour, makes u UNDERSTAND Science
