A good meme. A good chemist.
I graduated years ago but I literally left my 12th grade chemistry classroom to go ND ask him questions whenever the stand in that year was being ridiculous. Extremely helpful, very smart, and he will help you out if you are upfront about needing it. He obviously enjoys some witty banter and sarcastic jokes. I'm assuming those who don't like his attitude aren't in tune with sarcasm or aren't comfortable talking to him like a peer. He was amazing.
There are no online notes. No virtual classroom...
Has clear favourite students.
His notes are extremely repetitive and oftentimes have little direction.
Takes him 20 slides to explain something that could have been explained in 1.
Never posts answer keys. The only way to access them is by asking him for a hard copy, and a lot of the time, they are wrong.
Outdated tests!!! Also, you can't write on them.
NO ONLINE NOTES!
His writing is terrible. Unreadable.
Funny guy tho.
Fun class. Ask questions and he will explain concepts better.
CONS Cavaliere is VERY neutral in a bad way. He doesn't seem to sympathize with anyone and will often times joke in hostile ways. His exams are ROUGH and punishing, but he goes through the curriculum without missing a spot.
PROS He has good humor and can make a class very entertaining, he's got you 100% prepared for the diploma even if you don't do the diploma preparation handouts. He's there to teach and he is always present and ready to help. Most likely to be a mad scientist in a sci-fi.
how to do well in his class, study his notes, study s.t's notes, study textbook notes, study snapbook notes, study lsm notes. Do all homework, do questions he didn't assign as well for more practice as well as lsm and snap. I remaked the notes grabbing info from all five and combining them together. seriousky this is the recipie for success in his class. Otherwise...... his notes are just a littl vague but it includes info that s.t or anywhere else doesnt have, GOOD LUCK PEOPLESSS
One thing about Mr. Caveliere is that he expects you to study lots on your own, while maintaining a good grade based on his arguably vague notes. When I initially began taking his class, I found that his notes were not helpful at all. It wasn't until I began studying out of the textbook that my grades boosted considerably. When my marks were in jeopardy, he was not too helpful, implying that my horrible marks were my own fault. Although he puts on a harsh front, he is a nice guy, however.
Can anyone else find the page for Ms.Joy? I have been looking for it and can't find it. Without further ado: good teacher for biology 20. She gives you the information you need to know and you just apply it on her test. Just like that. 100% on her unit exams? No problem. Really nice and she will not hesitate to answer any questions you have. Her class is definitely something you look for forward too.
I think he is a great teacher. If you work hard, you will get the results. That doesn't mean you should get your hopes up... Regardless, the other comments are little far-fetched. It is true that he asks you a few challenging questions but with some previous knowledge and good... no VERY good guessing skills you may just get that 90. He is really reallly realllly smart tho so he will answer any question you want so it is highly suggested to spam him b4 the test. Good man for sure tho.
Funny, kind and intelligent. He is very good in helping you out, knows his stuff, notes are pretty good, appears scary but really is one of the nicest teachers you will ever have in Chem. 9/10
As a teacher, he is okay at presenting what he knows. However, do not expect to get a great mark by simply following his lectures and notes. I found that my mark did not improve until I took initiative and actually began memorizing the textbook.
He is a pretty good teacher. His notes are not the best but if you ask him for clarification he will definitely help you. He does pick on students so don't do anything or say anything you don't want him repeating it to the class for the next six months. Also, don't skip. He will personally come look for you. So, if you do skip, leave the school! Overall, a pretty good teacher though.
He is very knowledgeable but he doesn't explain concepts very well.
he is an okay teacher... his notes are short and needs to be more descriptive. the tests and exams are a gun to the head, a lot of the questions are on topics we haven't learnt or ahead in the chapter which we have not learnt of.... funny teacher, but hard to get a good mark
Whatever you do dont call him Ernie :P and he was a good teacher. I didnt do bad in his class but i always got the same mark, test after test after test after test. My first report card grade was the
Never goes over homework and tests and quizzes hard as hell and notes are just a condensed version of the textbook lots of time the tests had material we never learned . But overall not a bad teacher
notes are great, but no matter your more than likely screwed for his quizzes. his exams are a bit easier. some stuff that's on it we havn't even learned properly. also a funny guy
He gives decent notes, but I hate how he never goes over homework. There's also stuff that he very briefly goes over in class which screws you over for a test. Has favourites...
by far my favourite teacher. he is funny, doesn't bomb us with homework, and is courteous. :) if you ask him for help, he is for sure there for you.
fun teacher but he thinks that all the students already know everything and make students that dont feel bad
He's alright. Great person, if you need help he's always ready to help, but if you don't understand he wont recognize that.
WOW! He's like my ideal teacher! I mean he is really serious and strict about school and you should definitely know your stuff in Chem but he's a chill and funny teacher otherwise!
WOW! What a guy! He such a funny and nice guy! Even though I didn't score very high in Chem 20H, I can only blame myself for not studying enough. He was fair and made chem easy to understand and fun
Really funny but he does pick favourites. Love his notes, hate his tests.
Has great notes, explains things very well. Tests are pretty much on the homework. Some people say he assigns too much homework, but the solution is to just do some of it. He only takes in like 3 assigments for homework check, and he will usually say that it will be due. Tests are good. Make sure you know the factor-label method, as he dosen't explain it AT ALL. I just about failed the mole unit because of it. Learn factor label, and Chem20H will be easy. Helps well if you have questions.
his notes are all over the place, his tests/exams are never on the notes you copied down. he plays favorites, and will probably not know your name.
He is so funny and really nice, makes class enjoyable and humorous while teaching you - what more could you ask for?
In my opinion, he has difficult tests that don't really relate to the given material. He picks favourites and ignores the rest of the students. Classes are very boring b/c it's always notes notes notes.
I felt like I had to try so hard in his class, and never got anywhere. Maybe it was just me, but the way he explained things and immediately assumed everyone got it, was a little frustrating. I appreciated the time it took for him to create all the notes on power point, and felt that was helpful. The tests were hard, and no matter how much I studied there was always material not covered in the text/notes/discussion. Class was entertaining at times though, and he's a nice teacher.
Not bad... nice enough teacher. I can't read his writing AT ALL though. And he really needs to go over the homework with us... my mark took a nosedive at the beginning of the year because I couldn't understand Stoich and just kept repeating the same mistakes on the homework... going over the homework once in a while would have helped a lot. Aside from that... its a pretty fun class... just... the homework.
he's a really nice guy... but some of the material on the test he either briefly touched upon in class or not at all expecting you to know it ... i felt like i didn't learn anything in chem20 now that im in atamanzuks (sp) class
The only reason he makes fun of kids is because he knows they can take a joke. He has good notes and is hilarious. Hard tests but thats his job.
hes a nice guy . but i think he does pick favorites . he always has funny&smart comebacks.. notes are goood, but i hate how he never goes over the homework !!!!!! and i agree with other ppl that some material on the tests wasnt even covered by him
hard tests, picks on favourites, leaves in the middle of class or comes late after lunch, and material that is not covered during class is found on tests
He obviously can't remember what it was like to be a mac student. He is so ridiculously picky and frigid. His notes are good and I like how he doesn't go overboard with labs and stuff. He gets mad easily and needs to calm down. He is way too harsh with students and he controls us like we are four years old. I think some anger management classes are in order.
really hard tests but is really funny. its also hilarious when he jokingly makes fun of certain students.
definitley has his favorites, and can be a harsh teacher to grade 10s
worst chem teacher ever! leaves for half the class, doesnt explain anything and cares more about making fun of his favorite students then other things...like teaching chemistry?!
He's not too flexible of a teacher. Have a huge project, and 3 other exams that date, don't expect an extension for any reason. If you get one, it's probably for one block. His tests are pretty hard, sometimes have nothing to do with notes. Lots of favouritism, so some students like him, ignores everyone else. Always leaves class after notes are done, so sometimes you can't find him if you have questions.
Mr. Cavaliere is amazing. I was failing chem in grade 10 science, but now I have an 86. Hilarious, good notes, and if we spend half the class on a tangent, we are still ahead of the other classes. Two thumbs up.
Mr. Cavaliere is a very funny teacher and a good guy but he cannot teach. He doesn't understand the material he's teaching and when you ask him a question about it, he makes up a WRONG answer. He'll spend ages on the simple stuff and then five seconds on the hard stuff so you'll fail every exam. Worse, he gives exams that HE DIDN'T WRITE so he SAYS that he taught you something and you can't argue but really, he just skipped over it. So lame.
he is a great teacher, VERY funny, and he expects his students to be smart enough to be able to apply his teaching to different situations rather than just regurgitating his lectures in exams. excellent teacher, great person.
Okay teacher, certainly nice, but notes often don't have anything to do with what's on the test
good guy! crappy writing..but he already knows that!
Funny and easy to talk to. Makes an effort to know his students and this makes him a good teacher. Thanks for everything.
Funny guy, overall good teacher except for th e test thing but likes to steal cell phones ( take them away) which angers me!!!
An awesome teacher. He gives great notes. Uses about 20 mins of every class, then you get the rest to goof off, but still gets the stuff done. Good come backs!!
He's by far one of the pickiest teachers..hardly gives out any 10/10 on labs and if u ever insult him, u r guaranteed with a smart come back from him...
He tends to slack off by starting convos about anything, but the subject itself. Favors certain students, and ignores everyone else
awesome teacher really funny tests are pretty easy although you have to be able to aply what he taught reallly good notes.
One of, if not the funniest teacher in school. But some of his tests arn't related to what he teaches.
Nice guy. Funny and jokes a lot. Some are corny though..:)
a funny guy, but he gives you tests on things that he didn't teach
