Despite showing an aptitude for mathematics prior to enrolling in Elizabeth Bissell's class, my enthusiasm for algebra, arithmetic, geometry, transmutations, factorials, and the like just disappeared the first afternoon that I had the pleasure to count my self among this women's pupils. To call her draconian and ruthless would be no less of an understatement than to claim that Fermat's Last Theorem is "tricky". Of course, I wouldn't know about anything of that nature. And for that, I thank her.
okay so ms.bissell teaches at newtonbrook now, and i think shes an amazing teacher. she explains stuff very clearly, and she's really nice. As long as you pay attention in class, and study the notes before tests you'll get a high mark. i think mrs.bissell is the best math teacher.
Mrs. Bissell was an amazing teacher!! I really learned a lot in her class and she inspired me to actually study (and get a high marks out of it!). Thanks for the inspiration, i am now a great fan of math =)
Who lets the group members of an ISP decide on how the ISP mark should be distributed among the ISP group members (the group has to come to a concensus)? Does she really think that the people that don't do any work are going to agree to have their marks lowered? What a STUPID idea. She can't teach either; she writes down stuff on the board that's all in the textbook and she isn't very helpful. If you miss a class and you ask her something the next day, she tells you it's your problem for missing class. w/e.
why do people think she's a bad teacher at all compared to other math teachers she's definately up there shes not pressuring but at the same time approachable good teacher in my eyes
Ms Bissel is not a very good teacher. All her notes are textbook question she goes over with the class and they are quite unusefull. She treats all her students like kindergarten students. trust me, you dont wanna know how, she gave 3 students that were enthusiastic about math a time out cuz they were jumping up and down because of excitement of math. Its math class and ppl are liking math, but she doesnt like the student to have fun, so she gives them time outs. And she really tries to rush students.
She's hard on her students only because she wants to see them do well and be ready for the next year(s). Trust me, she's on your side.
Ms. Bissell was a great teacher. She's hard on students but mostly because she wants to help you out. She's patient, that I give her credit for. But yeah, she does tend to pick on certain students...indirectly. Don't get on her bad side! She actually teaches her lessons so most of the class is her talking but there's nothing wrong with that. I like how she includes other activities that involve math. Tests are the right kind of challenging. Overall, great teacher.
Oh Ms Bissell your the best! I wish i had you as my teacher this year... i shoulda switched... im regretting it now... please keep up ur good work :D
she can get kind og mad sometimes, but not without reason. shes ok, but stresses too much on good form.
She's a very good teacher, although her marking is slightly hard.
She's average... beware of that smile though. It isn't real. And don't bother aqguing about marks... you never win.
True She's a little to happy and its can be unhealthy. Overall she will go out of her way to ensure you pass math, that's what makes a really good teacher.
She's an average teacher, doesn't teach very well, and is not very clear. Can't have educational debates with her. Not a very hard marker, but not that easy either. Talks about 90% of class time every day. Made me fall asleep. Tends to pick on certain students, indirectly. Tries to smile all the time, but it's all fake most of the time.
Man, she's a gr8 teacher, and easy on the eyes too;) I have a whole lot of respect for her, she's a gr8 person and the happy cheery thing doesnt seem that weird
U GIVE NEW CONCEPTS TO US WHEN THERE IS A SUPPLY.this is really annoying.also, you are really artificial.noone is that happy 24/7. Its unhealthy.
Even though i was horrible at math she still helped me out. She is patient, loves math and it shows.
a great teacher...feel lucky to get her...tough but fair is true
Very fair... but a bit closed minded.
Always thinks she is right (most of the time she is, but not always)
Nice teacher in general
She's a good teacher, Just do the homework and you'll do fine!
Tough, stylized teaching technique and she generally weighs her expectations of you on you really heavily. So steely that she's something like a tour de force.
This woman brought me from a 60 to a 90 in math! She is always so cheerful and she is very fair. People should pray to get her as a teacher!
It's difficult to say enough good things about her as a teacher, and what little we see of her as a person matchs. I don't get these whiners.
She's not that hard of a marker. Very nice. Smiles a lot ...
TOUGH BUT FAIR! Thorough, consistent teaching and marking style..she'll leave you no choice but to LEARN your stuff!
What are you all complaining about? She's one of the best math teachers I've ever had. And NO, she doesn't mark so hard. A 90+ is fairly easy in her class!
helpful, cares for her students, good at explaining things in ways we can understand
She taught my class well, but my class was macs, and you know what that means. (math as a second language).
Good organized teacher who always helps out. Very tough.
she's aight...why are you all complaining! WORK HARDER!
