TEACHER BALL PLEASE COME BACK WE MISS YOU AND YOUR DOG
Will never forget the lemon song. Truly a masterpiece of this generation. Will mjss Teacher Ball very much :_(
He's awesome and goddammit I'm so sad he retired. We'll miss you Teacher Ball!
Mr. Ball was my Professor a few years ago and he is a good teacher. He taught me not just about art but that I should be respectable. God bless Mr. Ball
Mr Ball is one of those people you can't quite figure out at first. I disliked him on first meeting, but came to greatly admire him over time. He can seem harsh, but he's an exceptional teacher. One thing that can be difficult to adjust to is that if he sees something that could be improved, he pushes the student very strongly to improve it. This strictness forms a base of arts ability that lasts for life. Several years down the line I still consider him one of the best teachers I have ever had.
Let me tell you about Mr.ball-He is god. Though he comes off as scary, he does it to wake you up. Getting into the RAP program is great, good job(really be proud)-news flash, everyone in your year got in too and so did everyone in the years ahead of you. You got into the program because you showed promise, Mr. Ball makes you think twice and rather than questioning you-makes YOU question yourself, step back and think AGAIN. Art isn't just about the aesthetic, concepts are equally important.
Don Ball - one of those teachers that you didn't realize how much they impacted you until a few years after you've graduated. If he is constantly challenging you, it means that he sees a lot of potential in you and knows you can do better!
While I was never actually taught by Mr. Ball, I do belong do one of his clubs and have spent some time with him due to being friends with many art majors. For the first two and a half year, I will be frank, he scared me shitless. He still does now, but unlike then, I do not feel like he is always judging me when I talk to him. He is actually very caring for his students, and even to someone like me who is into art, obviously loves his subject.
Mr.Ball is undoubtedly the most dedicated, intelligent and intellectually challenging teachers I have had the pleasure of knowing. He has not only provided guidance and sympathy when needed, but actively helps his students grow and broaden their horizons. He is not only up to date and passionate about art, but can inspire and educate others about it also. I can honestly say my life is a more informed and interesting experience because I had the fortune of having him as a teacher.
Scary. If he doesn't like you. And even if he does. I'm afraid every time I'm late for class...bad marks for Don there. None the less, I appreciate his blunt straightforwardness and honesty - and he's got a good sense of humour. Plus, he knew I liked Bruce Nauman's works, and he gave me one of his artworks. (I'm one of the people he likes)
Really cool teacher. He always gives interesting projects and is very enjoyable. The only thing is that he either likes you or he doesn't. And if he doesn't, god help you :P.
Honestly more of like a mentor/professor/wise old owl/wizard to me. Plus any man who has a soft spot for his dog is a good guy in my book. Keep on keeping on, Professor Dumbleball.
He's amazing. Intelligent beyond belief. If he's mean to you, it's either because someone just made him mad, or you deserve it. He's the kindest person I know. A great teacher too.
Quirky. However, very unpleasant to those he is not fond of. I found him barely tolerable and full of pessimism and disapproval towards me. Not a warm person at all.
in grade 9 i was scared of him but now in grade 12 i have realised he is one of the best teachers i have ever had. he is very passionate about what he does
Great teacher. Of course he's intimidating, but he's exciting in that way and convinces you that you must get your work done on time or else there will be a zombie-apocalypse and he will lead the army of the dead on you. Oh yes and you will be defenseless. He also has a good sense of humor and often confuses you with what may be the plain truth or dark sarcasm.
I don't have him as a teacher but amazing man, he's intelligent beyond life, and although indimidating, he's very gentleman-like, and if you take the time to figure him out, it won't to waste. An amazingly intriquite person.
He's strict yet he's been more relax lately He's nice but 'mean' He can be the best teacher you've ever had or the scary teacher that bikes to school overall he's a fair marker and he gives you weird art projects He knows alot and first year with him he makes you switch seats alot to get to know eachother XD and names youplay the name game XD
He's very judgemental and drives students away. He's got some serious issues that years of consiling would be needed to work out. His teaching meathods were unique but very uneffective. He will be a teacher to remember, in a very bad way.
I am currently in his Desktop Design; disappointment. There is an unspoken prerequisite of having previous knowledge in layout software as he is unprepared to teach or answer computer questions. There is no emphasis on original work, using found images online is PLAGIARISM. studentaccess to digital cameras, scanners and tablets is kind of necessary in this course. ANYWAYS, I think Mr Ball is funny and is capable of capturing the interest of a child suffering from ADD for a few moments but is too proud.
amazing teacher. take his class seriously and he'll take you seriously
rule to being in Mr Ball's class: don't ask questions. or you will be humiliated. but he's an ok teacher. i suppose.
mr. ball is an amazing teacher...he not only loves art but is excited to share all of the knowledge he has attained throughout the years... mr. ball put 110% into everything he teaches. he goes to great lengths to ensure that each student will gain the most possible in every lesson he prepairs...its greatly appreciated
I think Mr.Ball is a wonderful teacher. He really got me to think about different ways of doing things, easier ways, and better ways. He knows what he's talking about and will admit when he's been wrong although I've found he rarely is. Great teacher, can't wait to have him again.
cool teacher.. ok marker, just has too much work due to soon.
great teacher with lessons that will be with you for a while. makes the fundamentals of art...fun.
i don't have mr ball as a teacher, but as a person he is definitely cool. he's really nice and funny outside of class, even to kids from other majors. as well, he runs the scrabble club, which pwns you x 45807345.
His class is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Borin, half of the students fall a sleep.
Scary beyond all reason, but an very good teacher. If he says ur work is good, you know its GOOD.
best teach i've ever had. current students:don't be a smartass; because you don't understand or are too needy & you have a bad time.
Why do you want so much from us? I mean, you get angry easily!
What's wrong with you guys? Can't take a little criticism? Mr. Ball really prepares students for the future. His sarcasm is great, reminds me of Mr. Ford.
not very clear at times but is the best art teacher i have ever had-VERY KNOWLAGABLE!- get to know him and dont be a *smart bum* in his class and youll do great
i love mr. ball. he is a blunt and honest teacher. if you take his critism for what it is and not personally you will learn a lot form this man.
He's a nice guy, a hard marker, not very clear at times, but overall I liked him
Unfortunetly there are only 2 great art teachers at Cawthra Park and Mr. Ball is one of them.
One of the most brilliant person I have met so far. A really great guy if you don't let your ego get in the way of getting to know him.
so inspiring and intelligent. get to know him while you can. and don't let his blunt sarcasm get in the way ;)
just met him this yr...seems like a nice teach, and hez real clear and understandable, so im pretty sure itll b a kool and fun 4 yrs of art in Cawthra =)
very knowledgable, gotta send him a postcard one day...too bad I got to know him in my last year in HS
I had a great 4 years enduring your mind games. Thanks for robbing me of my passion for art...I will never touch another paint brush for as long as I live!
Took time to understand HIM but appreciate what he has taught me!
