My daughter is an exceptional student. However, Debbie is a disgusting character of a teacher. Moreover, a total waste of a masters degree in teaching. My daughter handed in her journal to Debbie on the date the assignment was due and Debbie downer said that she "never" received the journal. This resulted in my daughter losing quite a large chunk of her grade in english resulting in her failing the course. I went to talk to Debbie about my daughters performance and she is very condescending.

She's honestly one of the sweetest teachers I have ever had. She's really understanding and her tests are pretty easy. You should really remember to have a separate binder for English. Keep it organized and you will have no problem the whole school year :) study a bit for the vocab tests, be prepared for each class and bring a book. And coloured ink ;)

Mrs. Gilbert is a very knowledgeable teacher who takes a lot of her personal time to help her students, which without many would fail. She also is extremely personable and knows how to make jokes, usually at someone else's expense, but still funny. Some think she picks favourites, but what she actually does is not use her somewhat degrading humor on people who cannot take it. She knows exactly how to keep the class on track. Very fun if you don't goof off, and fun to make conversation with.

Ms. Gilbert is such a horrible, horrible teacher. She doesn't teach students anything and she HATES correcting people which doesn't make sense because she IS a teacher... ALSO, this is a major issue, SHE BARELY TEACHES ANYYYTHING! She would make us read (even after E.R.) 50 minutes into the class and with about 20 minutes left, she wouldn't even spend this time teaching, SHE WOULD GO AROUND THE CLASS and just YELL at each and everyone of us. BAD TEACHER 0/0 Definitely do not want to get her...

worst teacher ever!!!!! All you will do is read and do vocabulary tests. You have no idea what your mark is until you get your report card. Good Luck to anyone who has her.

i think she just doesnt care. she always asks us to read the whole class. since we were reading the entire term and we didnt have any marks for report card, she randomly decided to have a test. i think she never plans her lesson. and you will never know what you get in the class because she doesnt know either! she can never memorize your name. i was in her class for two years and still she doesnt know me. but if you love Shakespeare with all your life then i think you can be her best friend.

I remember having a lot of discussions about current events in our english 9 class, in which she took so long to call on you. We also spent an average of 45 minutes a class reading, which was ironic because several of my classmates had a lot of trouble reading Romeo and Juliet aloud.

Shes a sweet lady, but her class is really dry, the topics are either reading or reading and she doesnt seem to like student to student interaction. She is very lenient when you question your marks though. What helps with her is if you personally ask her for advice or help.

I don't really understand why she is a teacher because she seems to hate teaching, or she tries to avoid it at all costs. Most of class was spent reading. Last five minutes was to inform us of some "test" on something she never taught us... or a package of 20000 vocab words we needed to memorize for an exam the next class worth 90%. However, it was really easy to mooch for higher grades.

Not very easy, considering she doesn't teach jack. She expects us to learn things. We spend half the class reading, 10 minutes checking homework, 10 minutes checking homework, and rest of the class to do homework. She got mad at me for calling her "Mrs. Gilbert". She called my name, I went up to her and she told me she called a girl's name(totally different from mine).

She does not teach. End of discussion. She didn't even know what to do for homework assignment. Loses homework, doesn't teach what's on the test, and makes you read all day. I don't even know why the average Helpfulness/easiness/clarity is over 1.0.... she has no idea what she is doing. 1 Test for a novel was worth 30% of our over all grade.

Ummm... Not the best teacher I've had, she doesn't put much effort into her lesson plans. Also she sits at her computer half the class what could she be doing? We don't get very much notice about tests and we rarely are informed about the topics and content. We read too much and don't learn a lot, only the literary elements. The Shakespeare is good because if we respect her we can act, no problem

Gilbert is one of the worst teachers that i've ever had. She doesn't teach anything and all you do is read in class. Her projects are useless and don't do anything to further your learning. People only say she is excellent because they don't want to do anything in class. Her class is for slackers not for learners.

Teaching - really bad. Gave us a test where we had to say exactly, word for word what a character said in such and such chapter after such and such event. Doesn't teach - we took notes once throughout the whole year. Otherwise we just read ... Or have 100 question tests that she likes to give out on stuff we haven't learnt. The final, she steals from other teachers. Not fun at all.

Come to class and read a book. Her class was an extension of engaged reading. She likes giving out A's. Tell her you're close to an A and she'll bump up your mark. I went from 81 to 90 just by asking.
