If you have this guy in Gr11, you'll have a great time and learn a lot. Best teacher. But for Gr12, hoooooly. You better have read every inch of that 10 year old textbook when you enter the test room because if you don't use the exact words, you bet you just lost those marks. Writing application questions on his tests is more stressful than finding a bathroom after Chipotle. Class size is half after half the semester. Great guy tho, hella helpful and lit teacher.
He's an interesting case. I would say that his teaching difficulty is alright I suppose. The thing is that he may be gone for a couple days a week, which really cuts down on him teaching a lesson leaving you to try and understand it on your own for the most part. The best things you can do are just to ask him a ton of questions and focus on what you can do instead of the situation around you. Spend your time understanding chem, but if ya feel down cos of marks, just push through it.
Good teacher. But definitely does not the mark you want for university. Hard Marker .
I've had him for 2 years in a row, he is definitely a hard marker but i'm sure he'll prepare you well for university and develop good working habits , he is funny and occasionally puts a smile to your face in chemistry. His application questions however, are usually the toughest on his tests (most people do poorly in that section), he is willing to help when you ask him but sometimes he can confuse you even more. Sometimes a little confusing when he teaches.
He's really smart but he marks so hard that you'll excrete out unicorns during your test. Before I was in his class for grade 69 phyemiology, I struggled with eating curry since it was so spicy and it would hurt my posterior the next day when I pooped it out. Now that his tests hurt my posterior anyway, I'm able to eat all the curry I want.
He knows what he's talking about, but his teaching approach could be better. Usually has you print out notes on moodle and then takes it up in class. Doing all the homework he assigns you will help a lot. Extremely picky on in-class labs, tests, and quizzes. You'll likely fall asleep in class, makes boring/useless analogies for concepts that take 5 min to understand. Dry humour, sarcastic: don't get on his bad side (rarely gets angry though)! You'll definitely learn and be prepared for uni.
hes a great teacher, but he marks hard and he does have a dry sense of humor, but overall, hes actually a good teacher, you'll learn lots
Markville's science dept. is exactly the greatest, but McKillop's dry humour makes up for everything!
mr mckillop knows his stuff, a very smart guy..but takes things really "literal". brings humor to the class sometimes, marks hard, but fairly fair ? haha
very difficult teacher but I learnt so much in his class and I remember everything! :)
Going into the class, I was told that he'd be very difficult but his class was fun. Does more than what's required. He may pick favorites but you have to go out of your way to get on his bad list.
Good teacher, and I really like his new system of putting notes online rather than having to copy page after page each class. Need to put lots of time into homework, but it seems to pay off.
haha mr.mckillop is hilarious, great teacher and a teacher that goes farther then he should. def a 10 on my list(Y)(Y)
Mr.McKillop is a funny/nice guy. I didn't know what to expect going into his class...i thought he'd be horrible but he was awesome. i don't know abt his teaching i never paid attention i just smiled!
he could definitely tone down his sarcasm & dryness a little bit, but overall, he's a decent teacher. hard marker, but he's pretty fun .
Good teacher.. only for visual learners though.. Auditory or auditory/visual learners have a lot of trouble in his class cuz they can "hear" him in there head.. his voice is too monotonous.
Damn, I hate him. What he teaches is basically from the notes that he gives. The tests he gives are too hard. He marks hard too. His jokes are so mocking.
He's a funny guy for sure but defintely marks way too hard. His mission is to make up questions just to trick his students. His notes are way too long. Fun guy to talk to though.
Too many notes, but if you take the time to ask questions he is willing to help. He will increase his effort as you do...hear he preps you well for university - even tho it is tough at the time...Hope
cute in a nerdy sort of way....once you get past his cold demeanor, he's an okay teacher. Could try harder to be nice to his students, perhaps it would make him a little more approachable :)
good teacher, hard marker, and give students a novel to copy everyday. funny though.
he tells you to read the textbook like 15 pgs for hmwk. He asks questions only on textbooks. Favours ppl who play volleyball. likes the flyers =S
Very Good Teacher.....enthusiastic....likes the Flyers...but is still a nice guy....
Mr. McKillop is a great teacher and is always willing to help students. The only thing I didn't like were the fact that his notes were like novels! Awesome, funny teacher.
Very nice teacher...GIVES TOO MUCH HOMEWORK...cant handle so much...pretty funnie=P makez chem a lil better than it reallie is..sometimes unclear.
I also hated him at first, but my opinion of him did a complete turn around my grade 12 year. He is so dedicated and willing to help his students..andhes funny
hated him at first... now i find him really funny. a lil obsessed with his flyers but its entertaining. gives up WAY too much HW and marks too hard.
Even tho He markz really hard but hes REAALLLLY helpful!!!! hes kool :)
although i hated him when he taught me, i can't help but tell u guyz it's cause of him that first year university chem seemed like total review to me~
Very hard marker, but it certainly pays off in university. It was his enthusiasm for chemistry that got me interested in it enough to want to minor in it.
Marks way too hard...always says that he doesnt care...He favours ppl too much! He made me hate chemistry...i use to like it
Definitely a difficult course, but prepares you well for University!
Very, very fun teacher to have. Very, very hard marker/teacher!
not bad...could be more enthusiastic about his work. wouldn't round my 89 to 90
