Incredible cal teacher. Explains concepts in such a clear way that I never felt lost in his class. Doing the homework is necessary as it often goes into more depth than in-class examples and similar questions will definitely show up on tests/quizzes. But if you do it then you're guaranteed to succeed in his class. Nice, energetic, awesome teacher. Take him.
He's a funny, great and helpful person in general and approaches math in a way that makes learning easy.
TAKE HIM IF YOU CAN!!!! Daniel is the best teacher i ever had at abbott. Helps his students with everything. super clear and organized. you will do great in his class
If you are someone who learns from REALLY good notes, take this man. I am a written learner, and a stickler for really good notes, and he does not disappoint. His theory is great and he's pretty good at answering questions. He gives challenging problems and is super passionate and energetic.
he is very energetic and a good teacher the only down side would be the fact that you cant text in class and I find it very high school of him and his tests are easier than the final but other than that he is open to questions and is clear in his explanations
Daniel was my favorite teacher last semester. He is very knowledgeable about everything he teachers and is always available for questions. He definitely prepared us for our final exam. His classes were always fun. The best teacher, highly recommend for calculus.
Daniel Gatien is my ABSOLUT FAAAAAVORITE teacher in the world. this guy will help u so much, he is SO nice, SO smart, and he prepares you really well. he really cares for his students and loves to answer questions. honestly if u have him, consider yourself blessed because he is honestly the best teacher in math that I've ever had.
Very good teacher. He will give you homework that he checks and marks so if you absolutely despise doing math homework, dont take him i guess, but his tests seem so easy because he is so good at explaining the topic. I felt as though the final would be harder since his tests did seem that easy but instead was pleasantly surprised. He posts practice exams for the tests and final that are very similar to the real ones. Highly recommended.
He is absolutely amazing! Extremely good explanations in class and actually makes math fun. He is full of energy and gives short clear examples. Prepares you very well for his exams and the final! If you have the chance you have to take him! I had him and cal 1 and made sure to get him again in cal 2.
Had him for Cal 1. Best teacher ever. Old man, but full of energy. Loves teaching. Will always ask questions if you did not understand something and will do his best to explain it to you. You may also see him in his office. Very organised. He posts practice tests on omnivox before tests and the tests are exactly the same problems but different values. So make sure to ask questions if you dont understand the practice tests. His quizzes are always three questions FROM the homeworks he assigns.
Daniel's jokes are god awful... but he's a great teacher especially if you have trouble in math. I got him for Cal 1 and did quite well, do not drop him!
Cal 1 was my favourite class last semester, and it's all thanks to Daniel! He's so organised and animated, and he simplified the ideas enough that even someone (me) who pretty much hated math for all of high school was able to easily understand and be fascinated by calculus. He might seem a little odd at times, but he makes up for it by really helping you comprehend the concepts. I wish he could be my teacher for the rest of cégep.
For Differential Cal (Cal 1):
Very structured schedule, good notes. He gives you homework problems every weeks to keep you on track and you can always check the textbooks for more explanations. If you have any questions he will be happy to ask. The exams can be difficult but you can make up for them with the final exam if you work hard on it.
Daniel is super nice and animated. I struggled quite a bit in cal 2, and he was always there to help during office hours. His class is alot of work, like any other cal 2 class. He knows his stuff, and does his best to not make the class boring.
Super teacher. I struggled a lot in Cal II, but the final was pretty easy. 10/10 recommend even if you aren't so strong in Cal.
I am a very average calculus student (pulling off 65-70's) which i guess is ok but not very good. He prepared us so well for the calculus 2 final I GOT OVER 80 ON MY FINAL HE IS SUCH A GOOD TEACHER. SO ANIMATED, so funny, very fair, very smart, BE BLESSED THAT YOU HAVE DANIEL. Listen in class, and you will succeed. (obviously put in the work outside class its still cal lol)
Do not eat with metal utensils in his class! He will tell you to shut up. Other than that, he's a pretty good teacher.
Best math teacher !
AMAZING TEACHER (which is hard to find for Cal). His tests are more on the hard side however his lectures are super clear and his notes are so organized and clear. As long as you work hard and do all the webwork and textbook questions he assigns you will be more than prepared for the final!
He can be a bit strange, but overall his notes are clear and he really does his best to help you do well, if you put in the effort and do the work you'll be well prepared for the final!
Daniel Gatien is one of the best math teachers I've ever had. I had him for Cal 2 and he's the bomb. He gives a lot of exercises and as long as you do them, you should be well off in his class. I did really good and his tests aren't really that hard. Great guy, funny and VERY HELPFUL! TAKE HIM!!
He IS a good teacher. He's funny and has energy to spend BUT he goes very fast, doesn't demonstrate examples generally and I found this very confusing. I was lost sometimes but you really need to go see him - he WILL help you if you're in need, but just let him know about it, unless you'll fail.
I had him for CAL 1, and failed. lol he's a good teacher in the sense that he will do absolutely everything that he can to help you it's just that he's hard to understand. He's super NICE and will HELP if you ask.. but I didn't do so well in his class.
Such a funny teacher!! He's awesome, tests are hard but his explanations and webwork (ugh) help a lot. Take him!
He's a really smart guy and knows what he's talking about. His tests are really hard, though. Take him if you're naturally strong in math.
He is precise, clear and very organized. He explains very well, the only problem with me is the way he grades, he is very hard marker. If you take him make sure you do ALL the homework before the exam
GREAT TEACHER. Really helpful. He has super clear and organized notes. Really prepares you well for the final. Take him!!
His teaching style didn't jive well with me; I couldn't understand his explanations
Overall a good teacher. Sometimes he wont answer questions in class, but if you see him after, he's really helpful. Taking advantage of his office hours is how I passed the course
He is a great explainer (especially for people who have trouble in math, he's great!) and he really knows what he's doing. He's probably the friendliest math teacher you'll ever get.
He is very clear and helpful! He explains very well and makes rly good notes! He gives too much hw but goes over it in class. If you want to pass/excel, you have to work hard and practice a lot...take him!
One of the best math teacher. He understand very well the stuff and transfers his passion for math by teaching, explains very well and clearly. Always available for extra help and he is very kind and patient.
He's a good teacher, makes himself available and he explains things in a way that makes them easy to understand. Tough marker, but lenient. He's a little mean spirited, and picks on certain students too much sometimes.
Teaches fairly well, always does whatever questions you want to see and made Cal2 fairly easy.
Very good teacher, well organized, very helpfull in and out of class. Prepares u well for the final. Just DO your homework and the class will be easy.
funny teacher but ... makes fun of students and does not rly help students when they ask for help..
Awsome teacher he is really well organized and will help you with anything math related even if it does not relate to the course very well organized and clear with his notes
Honestly, the best math teacher ive ever had. Is extremely well organized and is so clear, and explains everything so thoroughly that it's so easy to do great. Also extremely nice and always there and willing to help out students. Take him!
Probably the best math teacher I've had. Had him for Cal 2. Always willing to explain things thoroughly. I didn't do the homework all semester and still passed with an 85. Just make sure to copy down all of his notes and examples.
Good teacher, i just find that he sometimes makes things harder than they could be. Good teacher though.. whoever takes him, beware of his whistle!!! haha.. ull know what i mean..
very helpful, best math teacher ive ever had, probably the best teacher i ever had, you dont need to speak french just do the homework and show up to class!!! :D
He is a very well organized teacher, fair marker and very helpful! If you do the work you'll be very well prepared to the final.
Always makes sure things are clear... students of his are well prepared for the final exam
he's the most helpful teacher ive had so far, he makes the course content very clear, sometimes a little too much detail but it helps in the longrun
really helpfull.... if you speak french he will like you... easy to past the course if you do all the quizzes...
really good and easy teahcer, just kinda boring sometimes. but it's so easy and he's real helpful
He really makes the course clear. His tests really prepare you for exam. If you do your homework it will help higher your mark
he is a good teacher but goes into too much detail that is unneccesary. speaks french too
he's a very good teacher. Great teaching skills and loves to help!
