Fantacci has strikingly high standards and it's very hard to get on her good side and those who do she adores, people on her bad side though will find it a cruel job to get good marks in her class. She seems to mark on her own opinion rather than merit. For example, when I was in her class she liked me so when I did a group project with my friend who she disliked I got a 4+ and my friend was given a 2+ for the same work and with no explanation as to why. If you get Fantacci, don't stay long.
Picks out favourites. She has marked tests wrong (seemingly on purpose) a few times. Apparently, she has something against grade nines. Often gives us lectures about things that really don't impact our learning at all. We've spent a whole period just talking about organisation and the right blue pen. No, light blue is not acceptable at all, no matter how similar. Avoid owning red pens. Don't bring up listening to music, no matter how much it may help you focus in class. Just don't.
In grade nine I really didn't like her, because she was very short-tempered with us, but I had her again in grade ten and I really liked her! She's an awesome teacher and is super passionate about French; not just the language but the culture as well. I feel like she has a thing about grade nines (maybe), but whatever it is, she was super nice in grade ten and I had a lot of fun in her class. If you treat her respect, she'll give it to you as well.
Mme fanatcci is the worst teacher you can have as ur french teacher. She talks so much in class and when she asks the class a question we nod and then she gets mad at us for not saying oui and how she feels like we're just wasting time. She wasted a class making everyone say oui. She also has favourites and will pick on you and if u get the answer wrong she'll examine you and make a fuss about ur answer but if ur her favourite and get the answer wrong she'll make it seem like u were right
Really knows her stuff and is great at explaining. You have to work and understand in her class though; I got higher marks with other French teachers with zero effort, but she covered more material and was more in depth as well. Not necessarily hard, she just teaches a lot. Makes class interesting. However, very emotional. Takes almost everything personally; it's best to play nice. Means well but her behaviour when she's upset can make things super uncomfortable.
She is quite scary and strict, she makes things difficult if she doesn't like you. But overall she is really good at teaching, fabulous at covering anything grammar related. For some reason she seems to hate grade 9s, but is way better to older grades. Stay away from any topics concerning religion, on religion and many other subjects she will often rant for the entire class. Just as long as you try hard and never every listen to music or even look at your phone in her class, you'll survive.
Very nice woman, terrible teacher. Avoid her class.
Mme. Fantaci needs to learn how to keep her personal events at home and not take it out on us students. I was the only one in her class taking the B2 and she didn't help me till five minutes before my interview. She constantly interrupts you and wont let you finish your sentence or clarify your sentence. If she's really busy she'll ask you to write your question on a paper and then not read it. My mark dropped by 8% and I did everything on time, by the end of the semester she dislike me.
Mme. Fantacci is a good teacher. She explains French grammar concepts very well. The only problem is that once you get on her bad side, it's hard to do well in her class. She will also have long and uncomfortable talks with students she doesn't like or who she believes have disrespected her. On the other hand, if Mme. Fantacci likes you and you try hard to succeed in her class, it is extremely rewarding. Make sure to do all of your work and hand in things on time!!
It makes me sad to see her average rate, she deserves higher. I truly enjoyed Mme Fantaccis class. She was so sweet and even made pizza last year! She taught me so much more than my current teacher. Yes, she is a strict teacher but strict is better than being laid back. She is a smart woman and knows what she is doing.
Least favourite teacher in grade 9. She made me stay for detention after we had a debate because I was speaking too "powerfully". What?
Everyone has mixed opinions about her, but I think overall she is great at teaching. She knows a LOT about french and grammar and is a very passionate speaker. Just be careful on getting your assignments in on time and PARTICIPATE in her class! She loves volunteers. Work hard and you'll be fine.,
Mme. Fantacci is a great teacher. She can be very strict if you are on her bad side though. She is friendly and helpful. She makes class fun:) we had drama presentations and everything! It was a pleasure being in her class.
Mme Fantacci was sort of a hard teacher at first and then she got really really great. She was a great teacher but i don't really want her again.
Mme. Fantaci is very strict, but if she sees that you are trying she respects you, especially if you participate. I learned more from her than any of my other teachers. Just make sure to show that you respect her and she will appreciate and be willing to help you.
I don't understand why everybody hates her! She's an amazing teacher. I have her for extended French and she knows her stuff. She takes your opinions into consideration, like if you don't think your ready for a test, she'll change the date. She makes class fun, we do a lot of fun drama presentations and stuff! I feel like I'll learn something this year! Haha
she is the worst teacher that I have ever had the only one good thing about her is that she doesnt give that much homework other than that absalout nightmare try anything to get out of her class she gets mad at students for the dumbest reasos and talks to everyone like shes above them she told a girl in my class with insomnia that she doesnt need to take medication she just need to think about falling asleep and that she didnt have insomnia she just thought she did. She is prone to mood swings
Look, she's not as bad as everyone's saying. I actually learned a lot in her class. She is actually a grammar and language genius, and if you pay attention to her lectures, you can pick up tons. She sometimes spends too long on a point of grammar after she teaches it though. If you can get around her insanity and clairvoyant claims, she can be a pretty good teacher.
Best French teacher ever! I learned so much from her, she's a great teacher if you WANT to learn, because she'll know if you do ;P and she really tries hard to make everybody understand. Thank you!!
She has trouble understanding student's questions, and therefore beats around the bush instead of answering them directly. She also gives lots of extra information about grammer that we don't need to know before we understand the basics, leaving her entire class confused and unsure about what we learned. She assigns questions or work and never asks for it again, and she is very vague about all of her assignments, and will change them in the last minute.
My story of Mme. Fantaci is the same as nearly every other Frech teacher I've had. Don't complain, don't stress, Just do whatever she asks you to do. Get in, get out. Stay out of her radar. Don't make the same mistake I did flourishing my french skills because if you do you will draw her un needed attention. Get the work done. Don't converse, don't ask questions, and most of all don' sit there saying how bad of a teacher she is. When you're in her class she doesn't need to be kind or just. Just do the work.
mme fantacci can be a little edgy however she can teach, and explain very well. She has tought me a lot over the years, in french as a person and about herself. she has very high expectations, That's her way of teaching. If you dont pay attention, or aren't serious about taking french she will get very agitated. but i would too! Instead of blaming her for her teaching skills, think about how you would react if you were in her shoes.....
She really gets railroaded. I don't thinks she's quite as bad as everyone says. I've butted heads with her alot this year. And we had a long talk about what I think of her and the class. In a classroom environment, she seems quite conesending and a little bit hypocritical. She really does get treated a little bit badly by students sometimes, but that's part of the job. As a person, she seems rational, and a pretty cool person. But teaching dosen't seem to be her forte.
umm, condescneding, over-controlling, not very much respect. She wasnt THAT bad. but, teaching? not her thing. Tries to be nice, but seems nerous, or moody alot. dont think she likes kids. AT ALL.
ive never had a worse teacher. canterbury has really great teachers, ive never ever disliked one before. i actually hated her though. drop french if you have her. dont put up with it, youll regret it.
Shall I compare her to a summer's day? No. She's unreasonable, moody and condescending. WE'RE NOT IN FRANCE, WOMAN! Get over it.
she yelled at me for saying - c'est rien- on the first day because she couldn't understand what i was trying to say. She marked my tests wrong all the time and yelled when i asked her about it
Really picks favorites, and is sooo confusing even if you are a good student, watch out!
I think she is a very nice person but she can have bad days.
I think she should learn how to speak french before she teaches it.
Personally I had not problem with Mme. Fantaci. A lot of her students give her a hard time but the truth is she is actually very nice and helpful. I learned a lot in her french class and it was fun.
I really like her. I mean, I'm actually liking french now.
She's a nice lady. very pretty accent. I don't get why people don't like her.
i had english with her in grade 9, she was radiculous and had a horible teaching style, and come on, at least resepct your students...
WORST TEACHER EVER!!! SHE TAUGHT ENGLISH AND FRENCH IN THE SAME SEMESTER
