I was a student of Gleckman's at Port Moody. If you're thinking you can take his photo class as an "easy" elective, think again. You have to put effort and time into your assignments to get the grade you deserve. He's a fair marker. He's knowledgeable about the history and techniques of photography. He uses great examples of iconic images to get his point across. He does a great job of explaining what makes an incredible image. He's fun and funny. He's the reason I chose a career in photography.
He's nice and funny. He's very carefree and relaxed. He is doing his best to teach us his techniques and he's pretty good at what he does. In his class, you have to work very hard to get that A. He makes sure you do your absolute best.
During class, he either leaves to hang out with some other teacher or he's chatting with the popular kids. Although people will describe him as friendly with the students, it's only with the populars. Every time I ask need help, he's always busy socializing.
I think that what a lot of people don't like about this teacher is that his class isn't easy. That is a terrible reason. It is true that Mr. Gleckman does not always want us to GET the highest mark possible, however, he does want us to DESERVE the highest mark possible. He gives us all the advice and techniques required to get a high mark, and asks only that we work to get it, which should me common sense for all teachers, right? RIGHT? This course is not a free A+ class. That's what gym is for.
Honestly he failed me but I guess i wasn't paying enough attention in class. Do not be fooled by his "hand in projects whenever" thing, they really add up and he's really strict on deadlines.
Gleckman! Was an amazing Art and Photo teacher I took both his classes.. Failed both but That was my fault. He knows how to teach his classes and everyone loves him. He only wants his students to grow and be artistic instead of sticking to a system of art. He explores all different types of art, in his art class. He will definitely be one of my all time favourite teachers for the rest of my life. He taught me why I love art.
Brian is the best teacher in the world he is super cool he likes to teach
He's ok; i mean he's an extremely hard marker :( I think i like the course itself better than him but whatever. Take photography, it's fun.
Gleck is a pretty cool teacher, but sometimes talks too much. And you can usually tell he's trying to act cool. But if you have a question, don't expect an answer. He even lost my project once
A great photography teacher! really funny, and really cool, and tends to give an inspiration when stuck on a picture, or project
Amazing teacher, great guy. you wanna talk to some one, there he is. He does know his stuff, and he's funny to, just sometimes takes a while to get his attention.
Pretty good teacher. Nice and friendly. But he picks favorites.
I had Gleckman ages ago at Port Moody Senior, and had found him to be a highly intelligent and amusing man. Had I only attended more..... Thanks for caring anyway, Gleck.
This guy. Funny, helpful, a little hard, but challenges are good. Still, it's kinda lazy to give 2 landscape projects due in 2 weeks with snow outside. Suxors :(.
He is the best teacher I have ever had...I graduated 5 years ago and he is the only teacher that I still keep in-touch with (someone I will always remember)
Gleck you rock! Such a funny nice guy. Makes a class that could be very boring and dull, exciting and fun.
Gleck is the best teacher in the entire world!!!!!!!!! He will always be a mentor to me and many of my friends.
Tough teacher who expects the best out of his students. SS 11 at North was pretty cool though. Funny guy, gets material across. DOWN WITH MARS BARS AND CHESS!=)
I had Mr. Gleckman back when he was at Port Moody Senior. He was one of the best teachers I ever had.You just need to get to know him.
