He has a passion for social studies and an extensive knowledge of the subject. His classroom is highly structured, creating an environment that does not feel as though it encourages collaboration or speaking at all. He has high expectations for his students and marks assignments difficultly. His teaching style took time to adjust to. Some of his comments towards myself and others were questionable, to say the least. His most famed catchphrase, "Are ya trackin' with me?" with definitely haunt me.
Mr. Walon is an exceptional teacher and knows the material very well. He keeps a very orderly classroom and doesn't put up with immature or lazy students. He expects you to do homework every night and takes most things for marks so be prepared for that. Also, if you're easily offended I would try to not take his class because he can say things that could be considered offensive. "Are ya tracking with me?" Finally be prepared for bad jokes, long and sometimes drawn out lectures, and pit stains.
Great teacher with an extensive knowledge of history and passion for social studies. However, well intended discussion can sometimes lead to demeaning discourse. Prepares us for higher levels of thinking and future studies.
Very knowledgeable but asks a bit more of students then most teachers, there are no easy marks in this class, but you will learn lots in a structured learning environment. Make sure to keep away from mentioning religion or homosexuality though
Mr walton was a fantastic teacher who not only was able to help students learn and achieve at a very high level but also was willing and able to develop great relationships with his students. he does voice his opinion about religion and ideologies frequently, however he was never demeaning. his class may be difficult and require lots of effort but, if you're willing to work hard and open up in class, you will have a fantastic time and learn not just about social studies but grow as a person.
Mr Walton is an amazing teacher! He actually prepares you for working hard in university. He is strict, but such an amazing teacher. He pushes you to be the best that you can, and I appreciate that.
He picks favorites based on gender and religion. He tends to teach alot of religion. Sence I am I female and didnt grow up with a religious background, my marks reflected that. A 54 in his class, a 94 on the diploma, my sister had issues as well.
Although considered a more traditional teacher, Mr. Walton was one of the few teachers who gave me confidence in entering post-secondary school. He was always willing to give help but never spoon fed
I found him to be clear about his expectations. He was hard on us but I ended up with a great mark because he made me work hard! I enjoyed the class discussions. He made me think about things that
His class is tough and takes a lot of work, but really prepares you for the diploma and secondary education. Talks about religion, but how can you not in a social class?
It's not easy, but is it suppose to be? He is a great teacher! I agree, the comments about religion is crap. If you work hard in his class you will do well he is very fair. His jokes are misunderstood
Lots of help- classes really organized and you learn lots. Always available for tutorials. The comments about religion and favourites are crap- just excuses from desk lickers.
Picks favorites (student's marks reflect) and is quite pompous. However, he is helpful and takes time from his schedule to help you. And tells you EXACTLY what's on his tests. Easy
good teacher, always available for help, sometimes crosses the line between school and personal
Good job, your class may be very structured, but your a great teacher
Needs to keep a more open mind and be less opinionated. Also needs to stop picking favorites and care more.
