shes very spitful and very mean dose not listen and isnt good at teaching
I do not like her teaching style and the way she treats her students. I went to get help from her in grade 12 and she told me to go in the corner so nobody could see my grade. She gave me terrible grades around 50-60% and when I went to university i was getting 80% in both university english courses. She marks hard, what she expects from students is unclear, and her instruction was lacking considering she made the class do worksheets for weeks instead of teaching the material.
It is a bit of a change going from easy grade 9/10 english to having mrs Joseph for grade 10 or 11 but by the end of the year you'll definitely know how to write a near perfect essay. My advice is to go in with an open mind and if she sees you're willing to learn and go to her to ask questions on how to improve she's more than happy to help and wants to make sure you understand. She's also just a fantastic person overall, so nice and helpful both inside and outside the classroom!
I love Mrs. Joseph- best teacher out there. She may be a bit of a tough grader, but if you do exactly what she's looking for, you're set. She really knows her stuff and is always willing to help anyone who needs it.
She is a nice person but she grades way too hard and probably would be better in a university setting. Getting her as your english teacher is generally viewed by students as a death sentence with people dropping 15 to 20 percent overall if they had another teacher before her. She has good insight and knowledge but she needs to apply it at a highschool level. People say she prepares you more for publics but that doesnt matter if your marks are already really low compared to other classes before.
Although Joseph knows what she is talking about, her grading standards are ridiculous. My mark went from an 80+ avg in grade 10 to a 56. Had to work hard to get a 75 by the end of the year.
Mrs.Joseph needs to relax a little with her grading and lower her standards to a high school level. She knows what she is talking about and is not a bad person to talk to, but makes English 10 times harder with her ridiculous grading and worksheets.
Mrs. Joseph is a wonderful person to talk to, but her class is really boring and she is a very hard marker. She desperately needs to lower her standards. Really drags out all of the content, but at least she goes in depth into everything
She is a very tough grader but I found it better prepares for later in life. She has a great knowledge on what she teaches and is great for helping students who don't understand a topic if they go to her and ask.
Ms. Joseph is an awesome English teacher. She demands a lot from her students, but you will learn so much from her. English was not my strongest subject, but she will make you a stronger student. By far the best teacher I have ever had for high school English. Absolutely loved her!
she's a very nice person, but i think would be better suited in a university atmosphere. kind of way ahead of where here students need to be. her kids are great though, she brought them along with her one day for Halloween.
I just completed an English major at MUN with honors, and could not get an 80 from Mrs.Joseph. She really does care about her students, but English is not life. But, she does give great insight into novels.
I think she tried really hard but like many (NOT all) english teacher she expects way too much! As a high school student we are NOT english majors and shouldn't be treated as if we are!
she's sweet, but... She NEVER has marked to what she says her standards are. She marks as if you're going to be an english major. She IS explanative though.
Mrs. Joseph is the best. She funny, sweet, and really helpful. Yes I agree that she is a hard marker, but I think it is for the best in the end.
Good teacher, but a tough marker. "That's a great paper...42%." or "Shows a lot of promise, 37%"
Ms. Joseph, you were the best. You prepared me for the english courses at MUN. YOu were quite helpful. Keep up the good work
she is HARD, but I am thankful cause I am getting B's at MUN now! :) Yay!
