Although the other reviews seem to disagree, Mr. Creelman is knowledgeable and helpful to the point where you could program with your eyes closed after a few weeks in his class. Super funny and a living meme, Mr. Creelman should be worshiped as a god.
Best teacher i've ever had.
HOLY MOLY THIS TEACHER IS SOMETHING ELSE????????? #1 PROF ALL KOREA SHAQUILLE O'CREELMAN FK ME THE MAN IS A C GOD. TRULY FORTUNATE TO BE BLESSED BY HIS MEMES. ALLAHU AKBAR
Great teacher, hope to have him again
Mr. Creelman is pretty knowledgeable in his field. You can give him a problem and he can fix it asap. Unfortunately he isn't good at explaining. His lessons consist of him reading his slideshows monotonously and maybe compiling some program to show us that it works. The way he marks is also slightly questionable. Several people can get 100% on an assignment, but the people he doesn't like will get marks docked off for no reason. TL;DR, can't teach, biased, would not recommend
He honestly knows his stuff, but he really can't teach it to others. I had him for 3 years and hadda drop half way through the semester. He is the teacher you want if you are super serious of proceeding a career in computer software, but not if you want to take the class just to learn something out of it.
Mr. Creelman really knows his stuff, that is for sure. If you are passionate about computer science and willing to put effort into his courses to learn, you will go far. Everyone who rates him poorly is just trying to coast through it. Computer science (especially grade 12) is simply not a course you can coast through. Mr. Creelman also gives up a great deal of his time to help the LCC, and help Lisgar students excel in computer science competitions outside the classroom.
He knows his stuff but if you don't understand or pick up things very fast then it is not a good class for you since his explanations make no sense at all and he isn't even there to help half the time.
Honestly feel bad for the guy...Seems like he knows the material but just can't teach. He tends to be forgetful so be careful when he gives you a mark that you don't think you deserved...He assumes you know the material beforehand, so you will see him skim through the stuff, then expect you to do a test in 3 days. I did not enjoy this class, and so did many other people in my class. Be careful...
10/10 would be taught again
worst teacher i have ever had. he can't teach, he can't spell, extremely offensive, and is a complete idiot with no social skills. he needs to learn how to comunicate what he wants. in the first ICS class with Kroneburgh, i finished with a 93, i do this guys class and finished with a 65. he needs to get fired or something so that people can actually learn.
Honestly I don't even know how Creelman became a teacher because this guy couldn't teach if his life depended on it. He'll give you good marks if you're already a computing genius but if you know nothing about computers and are taking his class-DROP OUT ASAP! You will learn nothing! Because he will automatically expect you to know it and you have to start from scratch a lot. His attempts to be funny are offensive and he always uses his "professional judgement" to rate you. Oh and he can't spell.
I feel bad for him, but I understand where these ratings are coming from. Computer Science isn't exactly a field for the sociable people, making it difficult to get a teacher who can effectively communicate knowledge to the students. As with most things pertaining to computer science, StackOverflow will be your savior.
All that said, there are a couple of things that I just find infuriating. He attempts to make jokes or offer insights on material, but these frequently turn out to be offensive to a large number of people. His marks are based almost entirely on favoritism, and you have to do things exactly the way that it is said to be done (Even though he doesn't actually give you any information on what to do other than a short briefing). He will put you in groups with random people (Not a bad idea, really), and then not monitor what you are doing at all. I was writing one of our groups projects, and the other group members just left it to me while I did whatever, and Mr. Creelman never mentioned it. When I asked him if I could use vectors (A highly standardized form of data organization), he told me not to use premade templates. As soon as I am done this course, almost every program I ever write will incorporate vectors, but apparently in this course they are not allowed.
Oh, and heads up: If you ever find a problem with his code, and decide to tell him in private, what will happen is that he will go up in front of everyone and tell them that he put an intentional error in. He cannot even admit to his own mistakes.
I'm sure that Mr. Creelman is a great guy, and really knowledgeable with what he does, but he just lacks the people skills to tie it all together. He probably doesn't deserve the amount of hate that he gets from everyone else at Lisgar, but our students just seem to lack the initiative that it takes to study topics on your own time. This is what university will be like, noone will hold your hand, and neither will he.
You can clearly tell who he favourites and who he doesn't like just by the way he talks to them. Even though i paid attention in class I didn't learn anything.
Garbage. Drop his class. Copy off whoever is smart.
Honestly, if you get him as a teacher, I pity you. You won't learn much, and you won't enjoy the classes. He talks in a monotone, and rarely can he keep the class organized and on track. A lot of your mark is based off professional judgement, so if you're brilliant much not a good student, you might not get as good as a mark as a student who's decent but sucks up much more to him.
Pretty smart guy, involved in municipal politics and travel enthusiast, and knows stuff he teachers. However, he is unable to explain anything, he just shows you without going through the steps. I had him for both computer science and math, and most of the stuff was self taught, he'd go though lessons but nobody would understand.
he is nice and trys to be a friend to his students but he is too monotoned.... and doesn't really know to spell and can not teach... in other words... a fail
He can't spell parallel or angle. And he's a math teacher. Only good thing about him is that there are no homework checks.
If you don't know math, change teachers. He cant control a class very well. Mr.Creelman to me was well suited to be a teacher, because he is not very clear and good at conveying a message or idea.
If you're willing to let Mr. Creelman teach you, he's excellent. Extremely knowledgeable in his field, and very helpful.
He means for the best and really isn't as awkward as most people think he is. However, he marks a bit too harshly in computer science and does not have the same standards of marking for different stud
i feel sorry for Mr. C he has good intentions and knowledge. Buthe can't teach. A teacher needs to be a leader and he is not one. He is also very gullible and students take advantage of that.
I think Mr. Creelman is an amazing teacher. Even though it is hard to sometimes get what he's saying. I have him for computer science, and while you do need to self-learn a lot, that's how it's done!
I rated low but I really do like him as a math teacher. Sure he has bad qualities like he might mark hard but he is a good teacher He marks fast but hard so that the student can learn from small error
Quite strange character. Plenty of stories about him, it's remarkable that he has the "I'm so scared" look in his eyes whenever he's talking to a student.
I have Mr. Creelman for Math I have it in the infamous music storage room. despite his faults, he is a cool, kind guy, and so delightfully odd. i am always cheered up by his nice, and slightly eccentric personality. :)
He totally hates me... He blames me and moves me around the class for stuff I haven't even done yet. Also, he never explains anything then tests you on what you don't know every week. It gets annoying after a while, I'm still just understanding now what we did a month ago. On the bright side, what he thinks of you has nothing to do with your mark. Im totally owning his class despite everything.
He's nice and sometimes funny, but you really have to rely on your self-learn abilities in his class.
Very nice person. His kindness makes some kids take advantage of him and thats too bad.
I have him for Math, He marks fairly, but can't teach properly. He thinks aloud, too much. Makes fun of students. Doesn't give enough information, and cannot spell.
He's an average teacher, but sometimes he doesn't teach you everything you need to know to finish the assignments. You also don't learn much.
cant speak english, cant spell, never answers questions asked by students
Haha creelman, your turn to fail. Random marks just dont work
he marks completely subjectively and doesn't help and makes fun of people
he has this look about him. he knows something that u should know but don't
