I had him for volleyball and I got 96. As long as you listen to him, you will have a high grade. As for his exam, you must remember by heart everything in the textbook. It is literaly copy and paste. Also he doesn't talk really loud so be close to him to listen to all the information.
Had him for aquatic activities (swimming). He runs the class military style. He hates students that come in late or are often absent. If you do 1 out those 2 often, not only will he know your name, he'll know your face, which'll ultimately affect your final grade. He's a grumpy man. Your best bet is to follow his instructions carefully. Even if you're not particularly good in the activities, you can still pass his class with 70's and 80's, as long as you shut your trap.
Honestly this wasn't a bad class at all! Had him for volleyball and failed every test but ended up passing with 80+. Just show up to every class and your guaranteed to pass his class. Make sure to listen to him and pay attention and ur good , try no to get on his bad side. He makes us run for literally 20 seconds and do the same drills then play a game at the end of every class. He was super funny not gonna lie but you have to be ready for his speeches lol! He's Not as bad as you think :)
I took him for volleyball. He is pretty clear about what he wants for practical tests and assignments, though this teacher never learned to project his voice throughout his career apparently. He argues over petty things and isn't especially nice. I do not recommend him, though if you really have no other choice but to take his class, make sure to memorize everything(literally) before the test. He helps you by giving you the page numbers, but you have to memorize those page #'s as he gives them.
the rating speaks for itself. Hes good!
David is a great teacher that knows what hes talking about and loves group discussion. Hes always asking what we did during the weekend and what new things should we try etc. People here that say that hes no good for shy people, you can just go up to him after class and tell him you feel uncomfortable and he will stop 100%. He grades you on your effort but he does take off marks if you come WITH YOUR PHONE, with no pen or without the assignment due that day. He only lacks clarity in assignments.
So rude, expects you to remember eveything by heart and makes you repeat what you just said and if you have no clue he starts yelling why you arent payin attention
He was a great teacher and was there for you.
If you try to ask him a question he will smirk and make fun of you most of the time, HOWEVER, as much as people say he talks a lot, its really not a big deal and he lets you explore your strengths and weaknesses in order to prepare you to become your own personal trainer. Overall not bad. Not the best person out there but he does his job
ALSO!!! EASY TO PASS BUT DONT EVER FORGET ANYTHING HE TELLS U TO BRING BECAUSE HE WILL REMOVE MARKS ( forgetting your required sheets for example)
talks a lot but other than that nice guy. Assignments are clear and helpful with exercise programs.
you guys SUCK ! The only ppl giving him bad ratings are unfit lazy teens that don't even lift ! He is the most motivational teacher ever ! He has discipline unlike you lazy ppl
THE REASON HE TELLS YOU NOT TO TALK IN CLASS WHILE YOU'RE EXERCISING IS SO THAT YOU LEARN INSTEAD ! (Isn't that what you go to school for?)
DO NOT BE SCARED TO TAKE HIM JUST CUZ OF SOME LAZY ASSES! I GOT A 95% WITH HIM ! How about that? Just do WHAT HE SAYS !
Very easy teacher to get a good grade with :) !
AVOID AT ALL COST!
Worst teacher I ever had. Don't make the same mistake as me find someone else.
Tough teacher. Doesnt let you talk at all during class. He puts people down a lot and screams on students if you dont do something perfectly. Cant even understand what hes saying half the time.
upsides : his tests are short and easy and p much verbatim from the book
downsides : sooo many boring in class discussions unless you like to share with the class; he tries too hard to be a motivational speaker; don't take him if youre shy and dont like to speak up in class
If you have him for fitness 102, he talks a bit too much and majority of the class he gives you inspirational lectures. He let's you do your own workout. He likes to pick on the same students often. Sometimes he's not clear on assignments but overall his fitness class is pretty straight forward.
One of the worst teacher I've ever had. First day of class he couldn't pronounce my name and literally has no respect for his students. The first week he was trying to demonstrate something but failed doing so because of his old age. Due to his accent I couldn't understand a word he said and he ended up mocking me. I also have social anxiety so this just adds to the stress I had to go through. Administration please fire this old savage man he is barbaric and uncivilized.
If you're looking for a good, intense workout, he may not be your best choice. he spends a lot of time lecturing and talking. You'll be sitting on the ground a lot more than actually working out. But if you're not a huge fan of exercising and sweating, then i'm sure you'll like him. He's a nice guy, but I couldn't stand how little work we did. It was very boring for me.
He is nice but I find him soooo awkward! However, he is going to respect all the efforts you make. SO have a good attitude and participate and it's all gonna be good!
The best physical education teacher ! Take him for your last gym ! A summer intensive with him is super fun and only 2 WEEKS ! I would definitely recommend him to everyone. FITNESS WALKING REPRESENT !!!!!!!!!
worst teacher ever. he's super condescending and sexist. he will make fun of you in front of the whole class and has no regards towards the different physical limits of people. he has is special gymnastics team training in the corner and they make fun of the class when they try to do the exercises. You're not allowed to talk to anyone in the class. i would not take him ever again.
His tests are a certain failure unless you learned the book word by word.
By far the worst teacher I've had at Vanier. It is impossible to pass his exams unless you are a robot who can memorize word for word the readings. His classes are boring and repetitive it feels like you are in boot camp or an army. He does not care about his students and will purposely intimidate them in front of the class. Do not recommend this teacher, take his son David instead.. 10/10 teacher.
God he's attitude is awful ! But he does give some students second chances, he's very somewhat friendly but not friendly. He teaches you for a reason and not just to pass you but overall would not recommend for shy, timid people.
I had him for fitness and he is an amazing teacher. The theory segment of the class is very easy and he's super nice and helpful. I definitely suggest taking him.
If you take this teacher, your days will generally start off w/ 5-10 minutes of hula-hooping and jump rope (he teaches the 5 jump rope tricks once so pay attention). After stretching, you spend the rest of the class doing weight-training, cardio, and badminton. His final exam tests your hula-hooping and jump rope skills. I didn't do the final "exam" and I still managed to finish with a 72%... Just be sure to go to class, participate to the best of your ability and hand in all essays. GOOD LUCK.
Very good teacher, easy and fun.
Honestly he is a very bad teacher and his classes are always the same like an army drill. It is so boring and he is unfair with his students. He is never wrong and favorites people from his country Russia.
You can do very well with him,, he makes it seem much harder than it is. Exams are extremely tough (Like the exam is basically designed to be failed unless you say the answer word for word), but if you put in some effort, don't talk to colleagues and do your routine, you can get a good mark. Failed all written tests, did the hula and rope test, and I got a 90.
His class is just like any other fitness class, but he is an extremely nice guy and he trys to make you laugh (sometimes a bit too much and you feel like you are back in kindergarten). However he is a great teacher and I suggest taking him.
Just show up to all your class, don't talk to others, same thing every class (jump rope and hola-hop). Theory test have to be word to word from the book to pass.
He's the man with the life lessons about physical education, health and school. He's somewhat vague about assignments and homework, but ask him if you don't understand. Assignments and tests are simple and fair. Excellent and fair marker. He's the type of guy who is straight-forward. He's mostly helpful. Take him for an easy class to pass with flying colours.
Awesome teacher ! He takes attendance, but you actually like to come to the class. He's funny and always have good plans to workout. I had him in Fitness and attended every class ! The tests are suuuper easy (we did it in pairs) and the class is amazing.
To be honest, I really do not think that Victor is a very good teacher. He doesn't show his student any type of respect when they do not understand something. Personally, I think that there are ways for a teacher to talk to a student and he is not respecting that. Last week, I asked him a question and he started yelling after me for no reason. Just because I did not understand the instructions, he said that I do not pay any attention. I think he needs to go back to university. FKNN TEACHER .
I am a 40 year old student with physical disabilities. Victor made it possible for me to get in the best shape of my life by giving me an extra credit for going to the gym before class. Victor is one of the most understanding teachers I have ever had. The class forgot the exam date because his class is a swimming class and the students had nothing to write down the date with and they asked me to represent them by asking Victor for an extra week to study and he gave us the extension. THUMBS UP!
WORST TEACHER AT VANIER COLLEGE!
He is a very rude teacher that really needs to be addresses at times. He's very complicated in sense, if you try to explain to him what you don't understand, he'll say that you're not paying attention. Clearly he doesn't know that there is a difference between not understanding and not paying attention. Sometimes, I fell as if I'm talking to the wall when I ask him questions. To be honest, if he was to change his negative attitude, maybe people would like him more..
The worst teacher I have had in my life. I am completely sincere, you will NEVER pass an exam even if you study REALLY hard. You literally have to memorize the textbook to get a 60. Very confusing and not helpfull at all.
No matter what you do, you will never pass his exams. Will take off points for no reasons. NEVER TAKE HIM
Not the greatest teacher I have ever had. He is very strict, and a very hard marker. You need to study very hard to get a decent mark in his class. Do not be late, do not miss a class because you will for one, hear him complain about it and second lose a lot of marks. I had him for Volleyball and the class was ok. I enjoy playing volleyball so it made the class better. Overall he isn't the greatest teacher, you can't speak in his class, everything has to be done his way. Wouldn't chose him again
Runs his class like a military camp. Hes grumpy, rude and annoying. His tests are super hard regardless of what gym course you have. Had him for Aquatic Activities, just makes you do non-stop laps. Has an accent which makes it difficult to understand him sometimes. If you have trouble following instructions, this is NOT the teacher for you.
Worst teacher I had so far. Grades unfairly, says he cares about your effort but doesn't really. Had him for aquatic activies, wouldn't take him again.
I do not recommend him at all. He has a very bad way of teaching and his class is very boring
To get a good grade you just have to be polite with him from the beginning, be very punctual and maintain a serious attitude. So don't talk to others, especially when he's talking. He just need to notice your efforts and the best way is by studying hard for written exams and doing the exercises he tells you to.
I had Victor as wrestling coach for rmany years and even as an aquatics teacher. He was a greqat coach and teacher that demands full effort from his students.
He is one of the most fun and chill teachers I've had in Vanier. He is an ex-Olympic athlete who cam 14th place in the Beijing Olympics for wrestling. He isn't strict at all, but a pretty fun guy. If you show you're participating and trying your best, he''ll give amazing marks. Take him if you can!
Awesome teacher! Very cool take him! Knows his stuff and really easy going! And fun class!
Not only is this teacher good looking which is rare at vanier but he's super nice and he makes his classes fun ! I'm not a sports person but I actually enjoyed his class he tries to make it fun for everyone... He's also an easy marker :)
I got 95% as final grade in Aquatics with him. His attitude and what he says in class doesnt affect me because I avoided talking back, asked qs when I had to, and followed all his instructions. As for how i got 95%, I pretty much memorized all the pages he said would be on the Quiz (which is seriously word for word memorization...i got 100% on all quizes except one)If you can stand going through a whole semester with a teacher who is strict and lectures you alot than take him and study for quizs
He's awesome. Very good teacher and also just a genuinely good person! Like him a lot as a teacher!
He replaced Victor Zilberman in our class one day. And damn that was the funnest gym class I've ever had. He's a cool guy, the girls love him and he motivates the guys who aren't as beef as him, haha!
The other ratings said it all. "don't worry about the tests. Just try hard in class" "take him if you need anger management" He's cool. Just tryhard, listen to him and answer back with a loud voice !
Well...he didn't explain clearly the assignments. On the tests you should know EVERYTHING by heart. Literally, every word from the textbook :( But he teaches very well though. The mark depends on YOU!
enthusiastic and funny teacher. encourages all his students to participate. only had one quiz and easy assignments. he's into celebrity gossip :P overall, interesting gym class, take him if you can
hes a good teacher, very vague when he explains though. If you dont generally listen then dont take him. but if you listen and do what he wants then itll be good.
awesome teacher. Really cares about his students and is dedicated to making class fun and interesting, easy marker as long as you show up
if you want a fun and interesting gym class, take him
Really dedicated and enthusiastic about his class. I recommend him.
i can se how u can hate him but to me hes funny as hell! Just do wat he tells u and ull pass. I failed most of the exams but who cares u still pass lol
Pretty much if ur not an olympic athlete dont take him but u will still pass if u do.
very popular.. DONT AND I MEAN DONT RISK YOUR LIFE WITH THIS GUY!!!!!! YOU SEE DANGER WHEN YOU SEE HIM !!!!
Show him respect and you will get respect. Meaning don't talk when he's talking, don't skip, bring HW on time and put effort. Do that and I guarantee 80 regardless of your exam marks.
yes he can be a little rough sometimes....but it's that kind of teacher you learn to appreciate only ten years from now. The kind that pushes you to your limits only in hopes to see you succeed as far
If you can deal with the accent and sarcastic remarks you're fine, he passes everyone unless you miss2 or more classes ( everyone fails his tests but everyone passes with great marks... go figure)
I had his swim class, show up on time, show up for every class, don't talk unless he asks a question and be prepared to swim laps for the whole class. Even if you fail all the tests you'll likly pass
Provides a strict front, but cares very much. Commerce student? TAKE HIM. He adequately prepares you for Corporate life, the real world. Very easy to pass, fail the written with 10%? No problem! Effor
Alright, take this teacher if you want to have a boot camp experience. He does indeed teach respect but does it in a horrible way. I am usually a good student and not picky, but this teacher is awful.
why so negative? he does not count tests/assignments show respect, be on time, and put abit of effort, talk to him once and awhile, smile and you can easily pull an 80 had him 2 times and got over 80!
This man is hreat overall...... try your best, do not talk, be on time, and you wil have a fun year!!! not doing these things will result in a failing mark... but he is a great man!!
He is a character builder, theory tests are very hard but he does not count them., TRY your best, laugh at his jokes, recpect him, do not act like an animal in his class, and you will get at least 80!
best teacher ever!! if u get the chance take him 100% you'll have fun. Test are extremely hard but he never actually counts them. I got 92% in his class and failed every test. Very interesting and fun class!! TAKE 100%
Im doing Wrestling with him and I have to say that its an honor to have this guy as a teacher. He is worshipped in the MMA world. Hes a nice guy and its a very easy class to pass.
All this teacher does is pick on you. Avoid him or drop the course. His tests are impossible to pass unless you memorize word for word the sheets he gives you. He's very mean and has his favorites and makes it extremely obvious. AVOID.
he is hostile. his tests are really hard. study.even if you barely pass them, you can still pass the course. if you're sensitive you'll hate him.approach him without being scared. i ended up with a 98
very intimidating. i only saw him on the first day of class and i dropped that course right away. if u come late he,ll make u sit infront of class. his class is like a military training AVOID AVOID
Mr. Zilberman has the hardest theory tests I've ever had to do in a gym class. He can be real mean if he wants to be. As long as you look him in the eye and actually try in his class you should pass.
Sensitive people: you've been warned. Unfortunately often very sarcastic and picks on people, maybe as a result of certain hangups and chips on the shoulder. Just keep a low profile and do your work.
if u like to slack off in gym then ull hate him. if u want to do real gym and learn then hes a great teacher. just pick up quickly on his teaching styles, and try not to be offendedwhen he picks on u
He means well but ends up offending and annoying alot of people with his ''blunt'' attidue which is supposed to ''motivate'' his students. There are way better out there.
To be honest , this was my worst gym ever, u have 3 theory exams for which u really have to study and he's verrry strict. In my opinion, do urself a favor and AVOID him !
This guy is the kind that if you respect him , he respect you. He gives test that is almost impossible to past, but if you go and work in his class, you"ll pass. I got a 90%
He's a nice guy, sarcastic, a little tough but u learn alot from him, dont be afraid of standing up for yourself, but dont try being a class clown.
Victor is a cool teacher. His goal is to make everyone laugh; he always said if you see someone without a smile...give him one! he's really sweet but also strict which isn't a bad thing. He sometimes picks on students but he doesn't do it to be mean. Even if you fail the tests it doesn't mean you'll fail the class, just put effort, that's all he asks for.
Wow... Mr. Z is an interesting man, when hes in a good mood he's pretty cool, but when he's in a bad mood... don't do anything other than what he tells you to do! I and look him in the eye or else he'll pick on u! He passed me when i probably didn't deserve it, and i'm thankful to him for that!
Good teacher, PE is an actual class, don't expect to just go there, do nothing, and get a good mark. I have him now and he's excellent..be on time and listen to him, he'll see if you put any effort into the class and that's what he wants..if not then pretend..he's happy with that too lol..Nice guy, good teacher...enjoyable class..I'd take him again for sure!!! Take him!!
He's an amazing teacher! He's extremely caring and tries to help everyone out all the time.
Very Caring, sensitive, compassionate, soft spoken, reasonable teacher
I do agree he's tough, yet if you just follow what he says and just keep it to yourself, you will do fine. Remember, he gives test in PE, student must be on time, no talking, just listen and pretend you agree, with these in mind, you will pass, honestly he gave me 95%. I was shocked!!!
He's tough and you can't slack off in class. Can't say he's friendly but I did well with him- 82%.
