He's one of the best teachers still out there. If it wasn't for slater I probably would've changed schools or fell into even deeper depression or ended up in the wrong crowd. Even though you could be his favourite student, it doesn't mean you can slack off, he works you harder because he know you can succeed!! He pushes people to try their hardest and to really open up their minds to imagination. He's by far one of the best human beings on earth, he really is a saver

Best teacher I've ever had in my life. Nothing but respect for the man, He teaches drama, he teaches life. Takes grade 9 drama a little too seriously though. Anyone who didn't like him either failed rightfully or never had him.

Mr. Slater goes beyond teaching drama, he teaches life. I learned many important lessons from him that I will keep with me for the rest of my life. He is the type of teacher that you either love or you hate. To be honest it flipped back and forth for me until I realized that it was my own fault that I wasn't doing well. Mr slater genuinly cares about his students well-being not only in class but in life. I dont have the greatest home life but Mr. Slater always made me feel at home in class.

I was a student of his for grade 12 Dramatic arts. He built me up for his common success of his extracurricular "Sears Festival". Then in turn, told me I could not be a part of it. If anyone was to see outside his production I smoked, that it would condescend the ideals he was trying to portray. I looked up to the man and let him build my small ego up, only to tear it down. That is not being a teacher. That is someone who cares more about there personal works instead of who they educate.

Slater definitely has his favourites. And he's always out to get certain people. But he does prepare his students well. 11 open or mixed drama are not courses you'd want to take just for fun. Tough!
