I miss him so much! He came back during airband and talked with me a bit. I nearly cried seeing him NOBODY can replace Mr. Chin. He's the nicest French teacher in Byng and has unorthodox teaching methods (he admitted being worried about that). In my pov, the best teachers are the ones who BREAK the rules. They are the ones who do things differently from other teachers, which interests us students-- Chin is a good example of that kind of teacher (including Kamin, Collins etc).

Despite it having been 4 YEARS since being in M. Chins class, I still remember him as a fantastic teacher to this day. I hope that he knows the impact that he has made on so many people out there. In grade 12, especially, compared to grade 8, the degree of respect and maturity with which he treats all students is amazing, while also driving them to work, and above all, grow. Life changing teacher, thank you Mr Chin!! Hope all is well

I miss Mr. Chin so much...French class isn't the same without him. Without him, French 12 has become one of the courses that i find extremely boring. He is one of the best language teachers in Byng, and I'll never forget how he tried to make me smile~

As an update review, he is no longer teaching as he retired. However, he has left such an impact on all current students and alumni that will never be forgotten. He is one of the most beloved and admired teachers Byng has ever had and is indeed my favourite teacher of all time.He treated everyone with so much kindness and respect as equals and all he ever wanted to do was spread happiness around through laughter and nurture a deep appreciation for French. His passion is reflected in his teaching :)

13 years later and Mr Chin is still the teacher I mention when talking about the best. He was the only reason I took French 12 and now I'm trained as an FSL teacher too.

The funny thing is his jokes/mini skits are so bad but still hilarious! Mr Chin treats everyone well IF u pay attention and try a tiny bit. He literally teases everyone even if u arent one of his favorites. It takes a lot to make him lose his temper because he is such a chill teacher. One of the only classes where we get to watch french movies in the dark. The gestures we have to use are okay because it actually helps us learn/remember the words WAY faster. I hope he comes back this year :D

Amazing person and great teacher! He even makes a morning french 12 class interesting with his hilariously awkward and lame jokes. I died laughing many times! He also is fair to all students, and helps catch up anybody who misses his classes with kindness, no matter how often they skip, as long as they try to pass. You MUST participate in his class for a good mark! Your french WILL improve in time! He jokes about everyone for fun whether you're good or not. He is REALLY crazy but it's fun! XD
